Chapter 39 Coaxing Nathan

Usually, when Victoria brought fruit or other food to Nathan, he would take it, turn around, and close the door, retreating back into his room like a withdrawn tortoise. But he was different today.

Victoria watched as Nathan took the fruit plate from Kendall's hands, yet he still stood at the door, seemingly with no intention of going back into his room.

Victoria's previous worries vanished instantly. It seemed Neil's guess from yesterday was correct! Her silly son's reaction to Kendall was indeed different from his reaction to everyone else!

Victoria grew more and more excited. Seeing that her silly son hadn't noticed her, she took a few steps back and snapped a photo of the two of them with her phone.

Victoria didn't try to find a special angle, but both of their outstanding looks were extremely photogenic.

Nathan's delicate profile and the way he looked down at Kendall with a focused expression made him seem especially devoted.

Victoria's heart fluttered. She shared the photo in the family group chat, [Loving Family].

There were four people in the group chat, Victoria, Normand, Neil, and Nathan, who had never sent a message.

After Victoria sent the photo, her phone vibrated slightly.

She knew the other two men in the group had responded.

She glanced at her silly son and Kendall, figuring she was no longer needed here, she was just getting in the way.

Victoria held her phone, gave Kendall a supportive look, and then tiptoed back downstairs.

She wasn't worried about anything happening.

No one was more emotionally stable than her silly son.

When Victoria was watching from the side, Kendall did feel a little awkward.

No matter how approachable Victoria was, she was still an elder.

It felt a little strange to have a parent watching her interact with their son.

After Victoria disappeared down the stairs, Kendall's gaze on Nathan became much more direct and bold than before.

Nathan gave Kendall the impression of a small bunny, his eyes were incredibly clear.

Kendall thought for a moment and took the initiative to greet him. "Do you remember me? My name is Kendall. We were in the elevator together at the hotel that day when it malfunctioned."

Nathan held the fruit plate tightly and nodded slightly.

As Kendall stared at him directly, he seemed to become shy and looked away, his eyelids lowered.

His pure and harmless aura was completely at odds with his large physique.

He seemed to be inexplicably well-behaved.

The nod was so small that if Kendall hadn't been staring at him, she might have missed it.

Victoria had said that Nathan didn't like to interact with strangers or communicate with people.

Kendall had expected him not to respond, but now it seemed the young master wasn't as introverted as she had imagined.

The last time in the elevator, Kendall had intentionally chatted with Nathan to distract him, but he hadn't said a word.

Kendall couldn't tell if he simply didn't want to talk or if there was another reason.

Now that Nathan had responded to her by nodding, Kendall looked up and smiled. "I heard you've been going to the hotel every day? Why do you go? You wait there for hours. Don't you get tired?" Her eyes were sparkling, and a hint of a playful expression was in them.

Nathan stood in front of Kendall like a large ostrich.

He trembled slightly, and a faint blush appeared on his beautiful, flawless face.

His skin was already fair, so any small change was especially obvious.

Kendall didn't expect him to be shy. In this short time, he had already shown several different emotions.

Kendall felt that aside from being simple and a little mute, he seemed pretty normal.

He was just like an innocent son from a wealthy family who was naive about the world.

For someone so handsome and innocent, Kendall was uncharacteristically patient.

She knew why Victoria had invited her to the Sinclair family's home, so even her tone of voice was gentle and coaxing.

"Don't go to the hotel anymore. Do you know what a hotel is?

It's a place to eat and sleep when you're away from home.

Why would anyone go to a hotel every day for no reason?

A hotel isn't as comfortable as your own home, right? "

Knowing that Nathan wouldn't answer, Kendall didn't mind.

She looked around and praised his home. "Look how well-decorated your home is.

It's spacious and bright, and it has all the furniture you need.

There's even a huge garden downstairs. The environment is so much better than a hotel.

Why would you want to go to a hotel every day? "

Nathan perked up his ears, listening to someone so attentively for the first time. He frowned slightly at the first part of Kendall's sentence, but when he heard her praise the Sinclair family's villa, he seemed proud and his handsome eyebrows relaxed.

After Kendall finished speaking, he said, "W-will stay at home... not at a hotel..."

His voice was unpracticed and a little hoarse, as if he hadn't spoken in a long time.

Kendall didn't react at first, but when she realized that he had spoken, she stared at him with slightly wide eyes. "You can talk..."

After hearing Kendall's words, Nathan pursed his lips tightly and became silent again.

He reached out and opened the door wider.

Then he stepped aside, his clear, emotionless gaze on Kendall.

Kendall looked at him, confused, but he just stood there, looking down at her.

Kendall began to guess what he meant. Nathan seemed to be inviting her into his room?

But when she was talking to Victoria downstairs, Victoria said that Nathan valued his privacy greatly, and not even Victoria, Normand, or Neil had ever been inside his room.

Kendall tentatively took a step forward.

Nathan didn't react and didn't show any signs of rejection.

Kendall took another step forward. She was now standing at the doorframe, one step away from entering his room.

Seeing her small figure so close, Nathan's breath hitched, and he took a step back, completely moving out of her way. Kendall knew she had guessed correctly. Nathan really wanted her to come in.

What surprised Kendall was that Nathan's room was extremely large, about 600-700 square feet, four or five times larger than a normal room.

It seemed that the entire left wall on the second floor of the Sinclair family's villa had been knocked down to create a large room for Nathan.

The room's decor was a simple, cool grey-and-white colour scheme, and the furniture seemed to have been designed to look particularly pleasing to the eye.

It had everything one would need for a home office.

However, since it was Nathan's room, and they weren't very familiar with each other, Kendall didn't look around much.

Seeing that she had no intention of entering the room and had quickly looked away, Nathan lowered his head, his expression seeming a little dejected.

Of course, he didn't know that the sour feeling in his chest was disappointment and sadness.

He just kept his head down without saying a word, looking like a big guy who was easy to bully and could be trampled on, which was completely out of place with his large physique.
