Chapter 35
Iwake to the feel of Pearl’s ass pressing against my cock. Turning over, I drift my fingers over her sleeping face. Her eyelids flutter and I kiss her.
She’s sleepy, but her hand slips down my ribs and to the waistband of my boxer briefs. I thrust into her touch and those big brown eyes of her open a scant inch.
I kiss her again, more insistently this time. She’s just wearing a t-shirt and no panties, so I pull the t-shirt up over her head and kick my boxers off. Twilight seeps in through the blinds and plays faintly across the bed as we kiss and grope each other. My lips work against hers. She strokes my cock a few times before she heaves herself up and straddles me.
I fist my cock and stroke the tip up and down her slit, gathering her juicy wetness. It makes me groan as I fit my cock to her.
“God, River,” she whimpers. She soon eases herself down my length, her hot pussy clenching my cock.
This early in the morning, I’m already primed and on the edge.
“Fuck, darlin’, you’d better hurry,” I warn her. “I’m already close.”
Pearl gasps and rides my cock, her movements slow. I slide my hand between our bodies, rubbing her swollen clit. She picks up the pace and I thrust along, my hips meeting hers.
I’m fucking starving for her. Here she is riding my cock and I’m already planning the next time I can be under her, inside her, breathe her in.
Her breaths quicken. “Just like that, baby. I’m going to come.”
Her innermost muscles clench once, twice. She’s not lying.
While I keep fucking her, I rub her clit with a steady hand as she rides my cock. She shatters, trembling, moaning, coming apart at the seams.
I follow her over the edge, letting go, careening so fast that I’m not fully in control of myself. Her pussy clutches at me, destroying me, milking my semen. I fill her with hot lashes of my seed, thrusting until there is nothing left.
When we collapse, unable to breathe, she lets out a chuckle. I reach out and pull her into my arms.
“What?” I ask.
“Nothing. That was just some amazing morning sex, that’s all.”
I brush back her hair from her forehead. “If you want to sleep a little more, I understand. It’s still very early.”
She kisses my lips and then settles in my arms with a sigh.
While we”re lying in bed drowsing, my phone buzzes. I groan at having to hunt around on the floor and root through my clothing to find the it. When I see that it”s Wesley calling, my eyebrows rise.
It”s early in the morning. The sun has only barely begun to rise, just a slim crack of light on the horizon. I”ve never known my assistant to arrive at work so early.
”Hello?” I say.
Pearl stirs in bed and I pad buck-ass naked out of the bedroom, closing the room divider behind me.
”Hey, boss man. I came in early to redo the whole filing system. I figured you wouldn”t mind, but you aren”t per se interested in my schedule, either.”
I try to string together a thought. ”Uh huh...”
”Right. Anyway, that”s not the point. The point is that Ray Kendrick”s on the other line. His office has apparently been trying to reach you for a couple of days.”
My heart rate rises. This is totally news to me. ”Ray Kendrick? It”s insanely early. He knows that, right?”
”I didn”t think I should point that out to his staff. Will you accept the call?”
I look down at my nudity and shrug. ”Yeah. Of course.”
”Okay, I”ll connect you. Hang on.”
A few seconds later, Ray comes on the line. ”Hello?”
”Ray! It”s a surprise to hear from you.”
He chuckles. ”Sorry, I know it”s early. I don”t sleep for more than a few hours a night and I am an early riser. Hope it”s not a deal breaker.”
I clear my throat. ”No, not at all. What”s going on?”
”Well, I”m just excited about what you presented me with. I”m tantalized, you could say.”
My heart jumps into my throat. ”I”d be glad to have you on board, Ray.” I lean against the kitchen counter, sneaking a glance toward the bedroom. ”Especially if you are willing to take the place of the construction company I just signed a placeholder contract with.”
”Ahh, that”s not a problem. As Rex may have informed you, I own a whole construction firm. So that”s taken care of. Plus, I would love to be involved in this project because it”s based off of all the tourism that the new baseball training complex is going to bring in.”
”Absolutely makes sense for you and your brand.” I try to think of what to say now. ”I am really energized to get this project moving.”
”Now, you probably know I”m going to ask this question. Do you have the rights to the entire property sewed up? I mean the whole frigging shebang.”
”Uh, well...”
”That”s not really encouraging, son.”
”It”s a little complicated. But with you on board, I am ready to pull the trigger. It can be wrapped up in a week. Two, tops.”
There is silence as Ray considers my words.
”That could work. We”d have to close the deal and cement it shut, though. I don”t want any uncertainty. That”s not how I do business.”
”No, sir.” I feel beads of sweat across my brow. ”I completely understand that.”
He chuckles. ”Well, all right. If you get bogged down with the seller talking about numbers, you can call me. I”m open to a lot of options. Just as long as we get the rights free and clear.”
”Understood. I will reach out to the seller immediately.” My eyes travel to the flimsy partition. The woman I love is sleeping on the other side, not knowing that I”m right here in her trailer, making a deal that will sell her down the river.
God, I am a worthless, trash human being. I feel like the lowest of the low.
”All right, River. Let”s stay in touch about this. I”d like a daily update until we get a contract in place.”
”You got it. Thanks for reaching out, Mr. Kendrick.”
”It”s like I said before. Call me Ray. And have a good day, River. Give my best to your dad.”
The line beeps and goes dead. I sag against the counter.
Fuckkkkk. I really have to talk to Delta and make her an offer now. God willing, she trusts me enough that we can execute the deal without a lot of fuss.
Pearl will be blindsided, though. There”s no avoiding that.
Pearl hasn”t even known me for six months. And she”s not my fiancée, either. In real life, she doesn”t have to forgive me when I tell her about selling her inheritance.
She may very well never speak to me again once I tell her. But
Walking back to the bedroom, I slip into bed beside her. Pearl murmurs something, rustling in her sleep, and resettles herself with her hand on my heart and her leg thrown across mine.
I turn my head, burying my nose against her scalp. I take long, deep lungfuls of air. As if I can get enough of Pearl just by breathing her scent in.
Pearl”s eyelids flutter open. ”River? Are you okay?”
Her voice is sleepy. I gulp. ”I don”t know,” I whisper.
”Shhh. It”s just a dream.” She lays her head on my shoulder, her eyes drifting closed. ”Go to sleep, baby.”
