After the story breaks, Tara is found murdered.
Sam and Nick are in a race against the clock to solve the case, so they aren’t forced to move to the White House if Nelson has to resign, especially after its learned that Gloria Nelson was battling ovarian cancer while her husband was having an affair.
A reporter asks them when they’re going to have “real” children, even though they adopted Scotty, and are guardians to the “Littles.” The question is deeply offensive to the Cappuanos.
Sam breaks her flip phone and is relieved to get a new one. Sam and Dr. Trulo create a grief group for victims of violent crime. Shelby and Avery get married, Avery adopts Noah, and Shelby is pregnant.
