13. Detavio
Chapter 13
Detavio
M onster placed Neosyne on his left shoulder then pulled his gun from the small of his back as he continued to slowly bounce the baby in his arms.
“Go answer the door.” He stood to his feet.
I felt it like they felt the troubled knock that echoed throughout the front of my house. The women that lived here didn’t have to travel through the front door. Most of them went through the east wing of the house because they didn’t have access to the front, my personal domain.
I walked through my house calmly, when I entered the foyer, I picked up my Ak-forty-seven and aimed it at the door as I snatched it open.
“You got a gun around my baby?” Natavi smacked her lips with a frown covering her face.
“His own daddy got a gun around him.” I lowered my gun and stepped to the side.
Natavi stood in place, her frown dropped as her eyes drooped.
“What’s wrong?” I asked her.
“It’s Angel…Detavio, I really need everyone to remain calm right now. She’s out in the car?—”
“What’s going on Tavi?” Monster said from behind me.
Natavi said nothing as she briskly moved past me. She fell into Monster’s arms and started to sob lowly. I assumed Monster gave the baby to Octavio to have my back in case of this being an emergency. Monster held Natavi tightly in his arms, his hand stroked her back up and down as he whispered something in her ear.
Seconds later, she calmed down then turned in his arms to face me.
“Angel has been going through somethings, and I feel bad because she’s been going through it all alone. All these months… I didn’t know…she wouldn’t tell me exactly what happened between you and her. I didn’t want to get in the way of it all either because I know my best friend. She tells things when she’s good and ready. Detavio?” she paused from talking.
Natavi moved out of Monster’s arms to stand directly in front of me. My mind was stuck on Angel. I felt conflicted because I held a lot of resentment and disdain for her. I didn’t know what could possibly fall from Natavi’s mouth to make me change my mind about how she immaturely handled things.
“Impurity…” She whispered his name like it was forbidden.
Amongst us, we didn’t speak of him. We all know what happened to Impurity we just chose not to mention his name unless it was necessary.
“The fuck did you just say?” Monster stepped to the side of Natavi.
“Baby…calm down.” She turned to Monster, but it was too late. His nostrils flared.
The wild look in Monster’s eyes told me that he was already going into the same zone that I was falling into by the mere mention of our father’s name.
“Impurity is dead,” Monster stated flatly.
“Hold on…what does he have to do with Angel not being herself?” I asked as an uneasy feeling welled up inside of me.
“He’s not dead; he’s alive, and he has been watching Angel. I think—I think he’s the reason why she broke up with you…she’s not telling me everything, she hasn’t—wait! Detavio please! She’s not herself!” Natavi called out behind me as I walked out of the house.
I slammed the door behind me then jogged down my porch steps. Natavi’s Benz truck had dark tints concealing Angel from me. I didn’t know how to feel, one thing I knew for certain was Impurity being alive had me infuriated. We couldn’t underestimate him, but what I knew to be true was that he was the king of manipulation.
I opened the passenger door and took a deep breath at the same time. Angel slowly turned her eyes toward me. Her eyes was sunken with the kind of bags that don’t just come from sleepless nights, but from fear of being haunted. Impurity was alive, I didn’t need her to confirm it at all. Her eyes told me that she saw the devil in the flesh, and it was enough to break her then turn her into a shell of herself.
“I’m sorry, for everything.” Her voice cracked.
I didn’t say a word. I dropped down in front of her, low enough for her to look into my eyes. Before I could move my mouth, Angel collapsed into me. She shook and sobbed hard, her fingers clenched my shirt. I stiffened off of instinct, she clung to me like I was her savior. It was as if she trusted me with every fiber inside of her. I wasn’t used to being looked at in that way. The world thought that I was the Devil. I thought that Angel believed it all with the way she gave me her ass to kiss.
I let the tension bleed out of me, my arms slowly wrapped around her. I could tell that Angel hadn’t took a bath, she still felt good in my arms.
“You’re going to be okay,” I said slowly.
“You have to tell me everything, I’m going to protect you, Angel.” My own words sounded strained to my ears.
I battled hard with myself. I wanted to explode but had to hold back. Impurity was alive, watching us from afar. He had enough time since his fake death to plot and plan out whatever it was he had in store for us all. This time, I planned on killing him myself. I wasn’t going to hold back at all.
Angel trembled before me, her eyes wouldn’t meet mine and I could feel the shame that she felt standing in front of me. I purposely stepped into her personal space and rested my hands on her shoulders. I had to make myself realize that right now, it wasn’t about me or my brother’s nor about Impurity. It was about everything that she had been carrying alone in the confines of her home. She thought it was best to extract herself from me, a conversation needed to be had still about the baby.
For now, I had to push everything to the side and get my little firecracker back. Her breath hitched when I started at her shirt, she relaxed as I continued. Piece by piece, I helped her out of her clothes slowly. Her clothes was damp, I could smell the sweat and musk. It wasn’t as pungent, but it was a sour smell that I wasn’t used of smelling from her.
My mouth watered at the sight of her soft curvaceous frame; she was still Angel. Sexy as fuck with lots of sex appeal even in her weakened state. She stood with her arms crossed over her breasts as if I hadn’t licked and touched every crevice of her. I went to turn the water on then took off my clothes as steam filled the space.
I stepped in first then held my hand out for her to grab. She hesitated, seconds later she took it. Under the stream of water, Angel closed her eyes and tilted her head back. I got to work by soaking a cloth then putting soap on it. I started at her shoulders then started to wash every inch of her body.
“Step under the water for me,” I instructed her.
“I’m sorry, Detavio,” she spoke above a whisper.
I swallowed down the painful lump that rose up my throat. What was she sorry for? Getting rid of our baby? Or was it not trusting me enough to tell me that Impurity was still alive and watching her. I felt for Angel, but I was upset with her all in one. She should have known better, and even if she didn’t trust me a hundred percent, she could have at least warned one of us about Impurity. There was no telling how long she knew about this. She decided selfishly what she thought was best, not knowing that she could have been badly hurt.
Impurity could have caught anyone of us slipping and did something. He didn’t, which told me that the bastard was heavily plotting his next move.
“You’re safe,” I said to remind her.
“I got you, and you can trust me, Angel.” I leaned in and placed a peck on her forehead.
“I told you, boy. Empathy is nothing but weakness, a trap! Motherfuckers will use it against you, drain you then break you. Don’t give them that power or you will forever be the next person’s toy. They’ll play with you while your shiny and new. When you get old and rusty, they’ll toss you to the side. Like trash.”
Impurity’s words rang loud in my head. I shut my eyes momentarily, then opened them to look down at Angel. It was crazy as fuck to me, how she had the ability to break me completely down. For months, I drunk myself into a stupor. I couldn’t think straight without her; she had me thinking evil thoughts of things that I wanted to do to her for playing around with me.
Here I stood, like a weak vessel in front of her cleaning her from head to toe. It was my duty; my heart even beat regular around her. Angel was the first woman to break my fuckin’ heart…She didn’t even know it. I didn’t even know what any of this meant for the two of us. I had to protect myself as well, but I wouldn’t dare let her out of my eyesight moving forward.
Her hair was tangled and matted in places. I worked my fingers through it careful not to hurt her. I squeezed shampoo at the top of her head then massaged it into her scalp in slow circles. She sighed and leaned into me, her breasts pressed against my wet skin. I sucked in a deep breath and started to rinse the soap out of her hair. We remained quiet until we both stepped out of the shower together.
“I didn’t want to get rid of the baby…I—I wanted to come and talk to you. I got so overwhelmed and was dealing with my own emotions…” Angel spoke louder, her voice echoed off the bathroom walls.
“Why did you get rid of our baby?” I asked as I bit into my bottom lip.
I didn’t want to have this conversation right now. Since she brought it up, I let it flow.
“My father…” She started then licked her lips.
“Your father had something to do with saving Impurity? Didn’t he?”
I tied my towel around my waist tightly then reached for the bathroom door. She walked out first with her head hung lowly. I planned on drying Angel off, but she had already started doing that herself. I went and got her favorite melon body butter out of the cabinet along with my coco butter. I sat the body butter down on my bed as she sat down at the edge of my bed. I moved the chaise and sat on it facing her.
For the first couple of minutes, she greased her body down as I just looked at her.
“My father and my mother had something to do with Impurity surviving. I don’t know the details…I was having family dinner with my parents and he started to tell me how he wanted me to leave you alone. I told him that I wouldn’t then things went left.” She stopped talking.
“Keep going, Angel.” I took in a deep breath and forced myself to relax.
“You’re getting mad, Detavio.” She blinked her tear-filled eyes.
“I am, but I would like for you to continue. I’m not going to yell or curse you out, Angel. You’re here with me…safe…you will remain here with me and not leave this house until Impurity is dead. I want you to know, that you will not challenge me. We don’t have to be together, I will not force you. I just want to make sure that you are safe. Even if I have to lock your ass up down below?—”
“You won’t have to do that, Detavio. I will stay with no problem.” She quickly cut me off.
“Okay…continue please.” I opened my legs, letting my dick fall against the chaise.
Angel’s eyes quickly landed on my third leg. I wanted to offer her a cocky smirk but couldn’t. My balls ached all day from not releasing. I was in physical pain down below from my own refusal to release for over seventy-four hours. It felt like a pressure cooker under my skin. Seventy-four hours wasn’t long for most guys, but for me it felt like war.
Every hour of not releasing built on the last. I felt real pulsing grinding pain that sat low in my gut, it throbbed like a second heartbeat. Mentally, it messed with me too. I was irritable, on edge, and it felt hard to focus. I was beyond needing the desire of sex, I just needed a release and would get one soon as this conversation was over. Angel started to finally talk, and I sat still like I was fine when in actual reality, everything inside of me was boiling over.
