28. Natavi
Chapter 28
Natavi
D amn my man looks good as hell. I couldn’t stop my pussy from clenching as he walked back toward our table. Monni wore a white linen pant suit that fit his tall broad frame like it had been tailored to perfection just for him. A thick gold Cuban chain gleamed at his throat, it glinted along with his gold teeth with each step that he took. His smooth chocolate skin was moisturized as his dark, warm and spicy cologne that was laced with amber, penetrated my nostrils.
We had spent the afternoon doing what I loved to do, shopping. I don’t think that I stopped smiling once since we dropped Neosyne off with my parents to spend quality time together. My parents still acted like they had a stick up their asses toward me but they loved their grandson, and it was very evident. They changed up their entire living room and even made their guest bedroom Neosyne’s space.
All day, people gawked at Monni and me. I knew I looked good with my white silk dress with a half split up my thigh. My dress stopped above my knees, and I had my hair slicked up into a high bun with baby hairs adorning my forehead. It felt like the world had finally opened its doors for me and Monni to dwell in again. My nails and feet was freshly done, it was a nice sunny day. Everything just felt right, even my Monni was more relaxed and at ease.
We ended up going to a steak house tucked into the corner of Hollywood. Monni sat down across from me, he immediately picked up his glass of cognac and took a sip.
“You good?” He asked, voice warm and smooth.
“Never been better.” I smiled then sat up to lean across the table.
“You didn’t go and kill anyone in the restroom, right?” I said above a whisper then sat back in my seat.
We both laughed at my inside joke. Monni knew I was referring back to when we first went out to the mall and he ended up killing Chedda’s bitch ass uncle.
“No, there’s no need to kill unless its James’ bitch ass.” His face tightened.
“Detavio plans on proposing to Angel on her birthday next week. He keeps asking me for advice and I told him just to do the shit.” Monni picked up his knife and fork to cut into his Tomahawk steak.
“Baby, you never give good advice. What all does he want to do for Angel to propose?” I asked him.
“I do give my brother’s good advice. He wants to throw a party for her. I don’t know shit about parties, Natavi.” He stuffed his mouth with the steak.
“I’ll call him tomorrow and help him plan it,” I stated excitedly.
Monni nodded his head and we fell into a comfortable silence. Monni didn’t talk much unless he needed to or if he sensed me wanting conversation. He didn’t have to verbally tell me that he felt just as good as me, being out and about together. He looked up at me five minutes after clearing his plate and smirked at me. The sharp curve of his mouth always made me feel like I was the only woman in this world to hold his heart next to mine…I was.
“I feel brand new.” I giggled.
“You actin’ brand new too.” He chuckled.
“Now what is that supposed to mean?” I frowned dramatically.
“You wore panties, Natavi. I haven’t tasted you since I made you go into early labor. The fuck did you put on panties for, when you know what’s coming tonight after the surprise I have waiting for you?” He asked me with a serious look on his face.
My heart thumped as I gasped out breathlessly.
“Why are you so loud, Monni.” I forced the words out trying to mask the moan that I almost let out.
“I never gave a fuck…but for you and my son I always will care. So tell me…Why the fuck you wear panties?”
I felt my skin flush all the way down to the seat of my panties. I sat back in my seat then boldly moved my dress up my thighs until I reached the band of the thong I had on. I lifted up and shimmied out of it right in front of him. His eyes never left mine, he offered a look of dominance as I fixed my dress then reached across the table to hand them to him.
Monni lifted my panties to his nose and took in a deep inhale. He tucked them into his pocket then reached back out to me. His thumb brushed over my knuckles and for a moment everything faded around me.
“Good fuckin’ girl, let’s go.”
* * *
The evening air blew into the opened windows as Monni cruised down Sunset. His callous hand rested on my thigh as his rough fingertips drummed to the sound of the beat. As always, Monni drove in silence but would glance over at me every so often with a look of satisfaction on his face. His presence was loud enough in the silence.
I watched him as he drove, with excitement in my core. He was calm as he navigated his truck with one hand gripping the wheel. We entered Hollywood Hills; he slowed down and flicked the blinker. Monni turned onto a quiet palm-lined street tucked in the corner.
I blinked then sat up straight, this area felt different, although we lived on private land this was more peaceful yet still very private.
“Where we going, Monni?” I asked as I continued to glance around at the rows of clean-cut lawns and elegant two-story homes that glowed under the streetlights like something out of a dream.
He didn’t answer at first, he pulled into a driveway of a soft white house with black shutters. It was beautiful, big but not loud. He put the truck in park and turned off the engine. His smooth chocolate skin illuminated by the glow from the dashboard.
“This…” He nodded his head toward the house.
“Is for us.” He finished.
My heart skipped a beat.
“What?” I asked in disbelief.
He opened his door without another word, then came around to mine. He pulled the handle to my door and opened it. I just stared up at him, already feeling my eyes well up with tears.
“It’s for us, Natavi. I’m sorry for not doing this sooner. I should have moved us out of that house the moment that I realized I was in love with you. I told you that you deserved the world. I’m going to give it to you every chance I get. We can start over here, grow more, me, you, and Neosyne…plus, the more babies you have for us…we can add on to this home.” His voice dropped when he said the last part.
I stepped out on trembling legs, before I could utter a word, I collapsed into his chest. He caught me without hesitation, his long strong arms wrapped around me. My tears spilled fast, quiet, and hot, soaking his linen shirt. I stood on my tippy toes and buried my face between his shoulder and neck. All the pain that I’ve been through, I didn’t think that I had these many tears left.
These were happy tears. I understood the type of man Monni was. He was different in his own way. I made sure to let him lead us and trusted him with all of me, now.
“I didn’t think you’d ever leave that house,” I whispered.
“I didn’t either…it was the first thing that I ever owned. My first time not needing anyone. But…you always make me want different and better. You teach me so much without you realizing it,” he murmured against the crown of my head.
I cried harder, it wasn’t just the house, it was what it meant. We was leaving behind the walls stained with old memories. The chaos and pain, that place wasn’t built for love, it was built for his survival against something that he held on tight too. This was a beginning, and I was all for it. He kissed the side of my head, his palm pressed against the small of my back.
“We’re home now. It’s fully furnished but I know you’ll spend the morning ordering and redecorating.” He smirked.
“We staying tonight?” I asked surprised, not realizing that the house was ready now.
“We staying forever.” He nudged me softly.
