Chapter 31

Chapter Thirty-One

Killian

Iwipe my mess with a towelette. What’s worse than needing to get off but having no one here to do it with?

Then I hear something just outside my room.

I reach for my gun on the dresser and slowly make my way to the end of the room, looking out the slit.

No one is there, but I hear something muffled.

Carefully opening the door, there is Liliana with her mouth covered as she leans back against the wall, touching herself.

Leaning against the doorframe, I push open the door. The look on her face is priceless as she sees me standing there naked.

“Oh my god!” She yanks her hand from under her panties, ready to bolt.

“No,” I say like a command. “Stay.”

She obeys, looking to the floor. I walk toward her, gun still in hand at my side.

“You know it’s rude to listen in on other people’s conversations, right?” I lift her chin with the end of the barrel of the gun.

“I-uh…” She’s at a loss for words and slightly trembling.

Leaning into her, I place my forearm on the wall for support, lowering the gun and dragging the barrel up and down her thigh.

The way her chest rises and lowers, her chocolate brown eyes wide, her fists holding onto the hem of her shirt for dear life when my dick touches her inner thigh, has it twitching.

“Looking for another secret for us to keep, Liliana?” I tease. Seeing her cheeks flush makes my skin tingle with excitement.

“No,” she says, but her body tells me otherwise. Hard nipples poke through her top. She’s heavily breathing and biting her lower lip.

Under different circumstances, I would slide right into her.

I’d make her forget her name and who she is, let her beg me to keep her.

My dick twitches again at the memory of how good she felt, making me want to attach the leash to the collar around her neck and yank her around.

But no, she needs to be kept as leverage. It’s bad mixing pleasure with business.

So I step away, and this causes her to gasp like I just ripped out her heart. “Get cleaned up. I’ll have breakfast made.”

Walking back into my room, I slam the door shut.

The morning sunlight streams through the kitchen window, casting a warm glow over the countertops.

I’ve only been to this house once in my life, when my mother told me this is what my father left me.

No child cares about what is left behind from a parent.

They just want the person, not the things they leave behind.

I had told my mother to do whatever she wanted with it because I didn’t want it.

I didn’t expect her to keep it, care for it, and make it feel like home.

The house is fully functional despite the fact that no one really lives here.

There’s not much food in the fridge and cupboards.

But it should get us by for a day or so before we will need to restock.

Looking out the window, I hear the chickens clucking and some other farm animals. Behind me, I hear someone enter, and their footsteps are too heavy to be Lily. Grabbing my gun on the counter beside me, I turn and aim.

“Easy, lad,” my brother says with his hands up in surrender.

“Shit, Mickey. How did you get in?”

“We all have a key.” He walks into the kitchen, looking around. “Figured you’d need some food. Have the boys unloading the car now. Pretty sure the animals ate through the garden.”

“Thanks,” I nod to him. “Good that you’re here. I need your take on something.”

“Let me hear it.”

“Liliana mentioned something about her being taken as an inside job. I reached out to my hacker to look into any footage in the city around the time Liliana was taken. Spoke to my hacker today, and she said she caught footage of Liliana walking to her car, but it was parked under a tree. So you see something happening between the branches but can’t make out what.

Then a van drives off, but Liliana never does.

Naturally, it’s safe to suspect she was taken and put in the van parked in front of her car.

My hacker couldn’t make out the plates, but the odd thing is that once the van turns off that block, it’s like it disappeared. ”

“Disappeared?” Mickey thinks for a second. “What footage is this hacker pulling from?”

“She’s hacked into security footage from storefronts, and a few I have placed around the city. Best way to keep an eye on what’s happening. That’s how I caught the Russians early on roaming around the streets.”

“Who else knows about your extra set of eyes?” Mickey questions.

“No one,” I reply. “I had these up long before I took over The Reapers.”

“And this hacker?”

“She’s legit. She only knows about the cameras because I asked her to look into them.”

“She?” Mickey challenges. “And is this a friendship that’s purely business, or are you dabbling with affection?”

“There’s no business between us. We mess around from time to time. I just didn’t have anyone else to look into it.”

“I think you already have suspicions.” Mickey arches a brow. “You could have asked Donal, but you didn’t.”

“There’s a reason for that,” I shoot back. “One I’m not going to share.”

Right then, the boys come in, dropping off a few bags of fruit, veggies, and potatoes.

“He knows how to make porridge,” Trevor comments.

“Any bloke can make porridge,” Leon replies.

“Everyone’s bags are by the staircase,” JoJo says, walking in and grabbing an apple from the plastic bag. “These are all from Jodi’s garden.”

“And meat?” I question.

They all look to Mickey, who replies, “There’s a farm back there. Don’t tell me you forgot how to get your hands dirty.” He nods out the window.
