Chapter 32

Chapter Thirty-Two

Lily

After cleaning myself up, I get dressed and brush my hair.

As I look at myself in the mirror, I realize this is the longest I’ve gone without wearing makeup.

I wouldn’t say I necessarily need makeup, but I enjoy getting all dolled up.

Standing here with a bare face, this feeling I can’t quite describe starts bubbling in my throat.

I pick at random pieces of my hair, once down to my hips now rest just above my shoulders.

Never in my life have I had hair this short.

I don’t hate it, but the cause of it leaves a salty taste in my mouth.

Since I was the highlight of the auction, Vidalia had a hairdresser fix the choppy cut he had given me himself.

I shake the thought of that brute from my head, but it’s only replaced by a different brute.

Killian’s naked body is still pressed in the back of my mind.

Dirty thoughts invade my brain, and I feel dirty about how turned on they make me.

After what I had gone through, I didn’t think I’d want a man to ever touch me again, but my body is screaming for him.

I want his mouth, hand, and dick on me, around me, inside me.

How am I supposed to control myself when I can’t control what’s going on inside my head?

I want to stay in my room, but my stomach growling is going to make it impossible.

So, I suck it up and head downstairs, but stop when I hear multiple voices.

The walls start to close in on me. Who was here?

Why? Was I being given to someone? My mind races with thoughts that I have to push aside.

Killian’s smart enough to know he needs me alive and close to him.

I hear the banter between Killian and what I soon make out to be his brothers. I sit on the bottom stairs just listening.

“Come on, Killian, you haven’t thought once to tap that.”

“Enough,” Killian commands.

“So you don’t mind if one of us has a go?”

“I prefer no one touch her.” Killian’s tone is firm.

“Big tits, small waist, luscious hips.” Followed by a whistle.

The twins are tag-teaming, and normally hearing men gush over me feeds my ego, but right now it makes me feel ashamed. Yet the twisted part is that I want Killian to want me. His voice sends electricity through my veins.

“Not hungry?” Mickey steps into view.

I look up at him, holding a piece of bread with jam in one hand and a mug in the other. “Don’t want to interrupt the locker room talk.”

“Aye, the twins like to run their mouth. I’m just glad I get a break today. I’ll let Killian bask in on what he misses out on.” He laughs. “Come on, have some food.”

I get up and walk into the dining room with Mickey, and all goes quiet. Killian looks between us.

“Eat,” Killian tells me.

The dining room has a bowl at the center full of porridge, and scattered around on the table are toppings like honey and various fruits cut up. There is a pot of coffee, milk, and sugar as well. There’s also a basket of fresh bread cut into slices with jam and butter to choose from.

“She heard you yapping,” Mickey calls them out.

But I’m the only one blushing.

“Sorry,” Trevor says. “It was really just to pick on Killian here.”

Leon adds, “We don’t bite.”

I smirk. “Even if you did, you wouldn’t be able to get near me.”

The twins lift their brows in amusement.

“You sound confident,” Trevor says.

“Willing to put that to the test?” Leon challenges.

“This isn’t—” Killian begins but stops when I cut in.

“You want me to kick your ass in front of your older brothers? That’s brave.” I arch a brow.

“Feisty, I can see how you’ve lasted with Killian for this long.” JoJo smirks.

Killian begins to speak in another language, and all his brothers follow. From time to time, they glance at me.

I grab a piece of toast and spread some butter on it.

While eating, I just observe them interacting.

Something about it makes me jealous. Maybe it’s a reminder of when my sisters and I were the same way.

How much has changed with my family after Dad’s passing is really sad.

Times when I hated Stasia for pointing out the unnecessary shopping habit I had used to annoy me, but now I realize I wanted her nagging just to keep her close.

It felt as though we were losing her after Darius came into the picture.

Then Selene married Sal, and she was gone too.

Even when Sal passed, as horrible as it was for Selene to deal with, I was always glad, thinking that she would come back home.

But with Cameron in the picture, she didn’t even view us as an option.

She jumped right into another marriage and never looked back.

With Serafina starting college in the fall, it will be just Mom and me.

Which isn’t a bad thing, but I miss having my family altogether.

The sound of pounding at the door takes me out of my own pity party and has the men up in arms. Each one holding a handgun, scattering around the house, picking a spot like they are ready to jump into action.

Killian grabs my arm. “Head toward the back.” He pushes me. “Once you hear gunshots, you run.”

“Where am I supposed to go?” I say in a panicked, low voice.

“Are you afraid to die?”

“Maybe?!”

“False alarm!” JoJo shouts.

The tension settles and Killian seems relieved.

A beautiful female comes gliding in with a bottle of champagne in each hand. “What bullshit is this! You guys get to hide out and don’t let the girls have any fun?” she says as though danger isn’t looming around us.

“Fuck, Izzy.” Trevor shakes his head. “You were about to have a body full of bullet holes.”

“Didn’t you get my message?” Jodi walks in holding a duffle bag. “I texted oranges and apples.”

“Don’t you have a key?” JoJo questions.

“I gave it to Killian,” she replies. “And Izzy doesn’t have one.” She glances at her as though to remind Izzy why she doesn’t.

“What are you both doing here?” Killian asks.

“Well, I’m sure Liliana here doesn’t want to be bored. Figured Izzy and I would entertain her.”

“Jodi and Izzy won’t be a bother.” Mickey’s words seem to be the last. “Izzy, come meet Liliana.”

Stepping out from behind Killian, the room is now focused on me.

Izzy walks toward me, placing one bottle of champagne under her arm and extending her hand to me.

She also has the same crystal blue eyes as her siblings.

Her platinum blond hair looks all natural, and she carries a smile that would light up any room.

“Liliana,” she repeats my name as though she’s heard it before. “Nice to meet you.” She shakes my hand. “Hopefully my brothers have been hospitable.”

“So far, no complaints,” I reply.

“Nice necklace,” Izzy comments on the metal link chain around my neck.

I can feel Killian’s stare on me, on my body, sending a wave of heat.
