A dangerous game

Author's pov-

Divya sat across from purv and rudra in his room, her fingers tightening around the edge of the chair. She had known purv would react strongly, but this-this was something else entirely.

She had never seen him like this. So cold. So calculated.

"So, let me get this straight," she said slowly, trying to process everything. "You want me to act like rehan's manipulation is working? Pretend to fall for it?"

Purv nodded, his gaze steady. "Yes."

She scoffed. "You realise how risky that is, right?"

Purv clenched his jaw. "I do. But it's the only way we can get close enough to find out what he's hiding. Rehan is smart-he won't slip up unless he thinks he's already won."

Divya shook her head, exhaling sharply. "Purv, this isn't a game. He has already crossed a line. What if he-"

"He won't," purv interrupted, his voice firm. "Because I'll be watching. Always."

Rudra, who had been silent until now, leaned forward. "You don't have to do this, divya. We can find another way."

Divya looked between the two of them. She hated rehan. Hated the way he had touched her. Hated the way he had looked at her like she was something to be owned.

And she hated that purv was right.

Rehan wouldn't break unless he thought he had already won.

"I'm in," she said finally.

Purv's eyes darkened. "Divya-"

"No," she held his gaze unwavering. "I'm not weak, purv. I won't let him manipulate me, and I won't let him get away with this. If this is what it takes, then I'll do it."

Purv studied her for a long moment before exhaling. "Fine. But the moment he does something you're not comfortable with-"

"I'll tell you," she promised.

He didn't look satisfied, but he nodded. "Okay."

Rudra let out a low whistle. "Well, this just got interesting."

Divya ignored him, turning back to purv. "So, what's the plan?"

Purv's lips curled into a smirk-one that sent shiver down her spine.

"Now," he said, "we make rehan think he's winning."
