The Invitation You Cant Refuse

For the next few hours… the mansion slowly began to change. The sound of cloth rubbing against marble echoed through the halls.

Meera wiped the long glass table carefully while Ruchika dragged a chair across the floor with a groan.

“Meera… I think my soul has left my body,” Ruchika complained dramatically.

Meera didn’t even look up.

“Your soul left after the third staircase railing,” she said calmly while polishing the glass.

Ruchika wiped her forehead with the back of her hand.“I’m serious! Who needs a staircase this big? Is the owner planning to run a marathon here?”

Meera laughed quietly and said,“You said you wanted the money.”

“Yes, but I thought it would be a small job! This is not a house. This is a museum.” Ruchika protested.

Meera leaned down and wiped the marble step again.

“Almost done.”

Ruchika looked around the enormous hall and said,“Almost? We cleaned the living room, the balcony, the staircase, the dining hall, and half the corridor.”

Meera smiled faintly.

“Which means we’re almost done .” she said.

Ruchika stared at her for a moment and said,“You’re scared when you’re calm like this.”

Meera chuckled softly. Finally… after another thirty minutes…

They finished.Ruchika collapsed into a dining chair dramatically.

“I swear… if I see one more marble surface in my life… I’m filing a legal complaint . " she said.

Meera leaned against the table, breathing slowly and said,“At least the house is clean now.”

Ruchika slowly turned her head, staring around the massive dining hall.

“…We cleaned ALL of this? With two people.”

Meera nodded.Ruchika sat up straight.

“Meera.” Ruchika said.

“Yes?” Meera asked.

“If rich people want exercise… they should clean their own houses.” Ruchika said while laughing.

Meera burst into quiet laughter. Before she could reply.

The massive front doors opened.

Several workers walked in quickly.

Decorators.Event planners.Staff carrying flower arrangements and large boxes.

Ruchika watched them set up crystal lights across the ceiling.

“Oh look . The royal party preparation has begun.” she muttered.

Meera watched quietly as workers placed tall white roses across the tables.

Golden candle stands were arranged along the dining hall. The place was transforming into something elegant… almost magical.

Then..

Another car stopped outside. The staff immediately straightened.

A tall dignified man stepped inside the mansion.

Followed by an elegant woman dressed in a graceful silk saree.

Omkar’s parents.

A staff member immediately bowed his head slightly.“Welcome back, sir.”

The man smiled politely and said , “Thank you.”

His wife glanced around the hall with interest.“It looks busy today."

The staff member nodded respectfully.“Yes ma’am. Preparations are underway."

The man looked around again.

Then asked calmly,“Where is Omkar?”

“He is upstairs, sir.”

Then...

Footsteps echoed from the staircase.

Omkar walked down.

His posture relaxed but commanded.

His father’s expression immediately brightened.

“Omkar!” His said said.Omkar stopped in front of them.

“Dad.” omkar said. He touched his mom and dad's leg.

His mother smiled warmly and kissed his forehead.

“You came down just in time.”she said.

Omkar nodded slightly and said ,“The final arrangements are being checked.”

His father looked around the hall again. His brows lifted in surprise.

“All this… was arranged today?” his dad asked.

“Yes,” Omkar replied calmly.

His father turned toward him with curiosity.

His father let out a soft laugh of disbelief.

“You did all of this yourself?” his dad again asked.

Omkar gave a simple answer.

“It wasn’t difficult.”

His father looked at the event planners working efficiently.

Then back at his son.

“You organized the decorations…The guest list…And coordinate the preparations?”

He gestured toward the dining hall.

Omkar nodded again.

“Yes.”

His father’s expression slowly changed. He placed his hand firmly on Omkar’s shoulder.

“I must say… I’m impressed.”his dad said.

Omkar remained calm.

His father continued speaking.“When I was your age, organizing a gathering like this would have taken an entire management team.”

His mother smiled softly and said,“I told you he could do it.”

His father laughed and said,“Yes… he did.You didn’t even ask for help.”

Then he looked at Omkar again.

Omkar replied calmly,“I didn’t need to.”

His father shook his head with a proud smile.

“You’ve grown into a capable man .” his dad said.

But in the distance…

Meera and Ruchika quietly watched the scene unfold.

Ruchika leaned closer and whispered softly,“Well… the villain is clearly the golden child.”

Meera didn’t answer. Her eyes remained on Omkar. What exactly was he planning for tonight.

Ruchika dropped the feather duster dramatically onto the table.

“That’s it. I am officially done being a cleaning professional.” she announced.

Meera glanced at her and smiled faintly.“You said that twenty minutes ago.”

Ruchika pointed a finger at her.

“Yes, but this time I mean it.”

She looked around the massive hall again.

Another team entered with boxes of crystal decorations.Within minutes the quiet mansion became busy again.

Ruchika watched them hang golden lights across the ceiling.

“Oh look . The royal party preparation has begun.” she muttered.

Meera wiped her hands with a cloth and sighed and said,“Well… our job is done.”

Ruchika stood up immediately.

“Good. Let's take our payment and leave before someone asks us to polish the moon.”

Meera nodded and said,“Yes. Let’s go.”

They began walking toward the front door quietly. But before they could reach the entrance.

A staff member approached them quickly and said,“Ms. Meera?”

Both girls stopped.

“Yes?” Meera replied politely.

The staff member bowed his head slightly.

“Sir has asked both of you to wait in his room upstairs.”

Ruchika’s eyes widened immediately and said,“Oh no.I don’t trust this man.”

She turned toward Meera.Meera sighed softly.

“Maybe he just wants to pay us.” Meera said.

Ruchika crossed her arms.

“He could pay us downstairs like a normal person.” Ruchika said.

The staff member politely gestured toward the staircase.

“Sir is waiting.”

Ruchika leaned closer to Meera and whispered,“If this turns into a kidnapping situation, I’m blaming you.”

Meera almost smiled and said,“Just come.”

Reluctantly, Ruchika followed.

They walked up the massive staircase.

Finally the staff stopped in front of a large black door.

He knocked once.Then stepped aside.

“Sir is inside.”

And he left.

Ruchika stared at the door suspiciously and said,“This looks like the entrance to a villain’s secret chamber.”

Meera sighed and pushed the door open.

The moment they stepped inside

Both of them stopped. The room was… dark.

Not messy. Not gloomy.

Just dark with some deep white

Black walls.Black leather sofa.

Black wooden shelves.

The lighting was dim but elegant.

The entire room felt intimidating.

Ruchika whispered slowly,“…Is this a bedroom or the headquarters of a secret mafia boss?”

Meera looked around quietly, absorbing the strange atmosphere.

Then..

A calm voice came from behind them.

“Do you like it?”

They both turned.

Omkar stood near the large window.

His arms were folded casually as he watched them.

Ruchika pointed dramatically at the walls.“Why is EVERYTHING black?!”

Omkar tilted his head slightly and said,“I prefer simplicity.”

“Simplicity?!This is not simplicity. This is darkness.” Ruchika repeated loudly.

Omkar walked slowly toward the table beside the sofa.“Some people call it elegance.”

Ruchika shook her head.

“No. This is exactly what Batman’s bedroom would look like .” she said.

Instead he picked up two elegant boxes from the table.

Then he walked toward them.

He handed one box to Ruchika.

And the other to Meera.

“One for each of you,” he said calmly.

Meera frowned immediately and asked him ,“What is this?”

Omkar leaned casually against the table.

“Open it .” he said.

Ruchika exchanged a suspicious look with Meera. Then she slowly lifted the lid of her box.

Her eyes widened instantly.“…What?”

Inside lay a stunning long evening dress.Dark emerald red silk.

Elegant. Clearly expensive.

Ruchika carefully touched the fabric.

“Oh my God.”

Meera slowly opened her own box.

The moment she saw the saree inside

Lightgreen silk.Delicate gold embroidery ran across the border.

It looked beautiful.

Both girls looked up at the same time.

Ruchika spoke first.“…These are expensive.”

Omkar nodded calmly.

“Yes.”

Meera immediately closed the box and shook her head.

“No.”

Ruchika quickly closed hers too.

“Yes. No.”

Omkar raised one eyebrow.

“No?”

Meera crossed her arms firmly.

“We can’t accept this.”

Ruchika pointed at the boxes.

“We’re cleaners today, not princesses. Mr omkar”

Omkar looked slightly amused.

“You’re not cleaners. You were paid for work. That makes you workers.”

Ruchika rolled her eyes.

“Wow. Such an upgrade.”

Meera ushed the box gently back toward him and said,“We came to clean your house. That’s all.”

Omkar didn’t take the box.

Instead he said quietly,“You’re attending the party tonight.”

Both girls immediately answered together.

“No.”

Omkar’s expression didn’t change at all.“You are.”

Meera crossed her arms tighter.

“We said no.”

Ruchika nodded strongly.

“Yes. A very clear no.”

Omkar looked between them calmly.

Then he leaned slightly closer to Meera.

“And if I insist?”he said.

Ruchika was still staring inside her box when something suddenly clicked in her mind.

“Wait.” she said. She lifted the emerald dress halfway out of the box and pointed at it suspiciously.

“Why do I get a long party dress…”

Then she looked toward Meera’s box.

“…but she gets a saree?” Ruchika asked him.

Meera blinked, confused.Ruchika slowly turned toward Omkar.

“Explain.”

Omkar leaned casually against the edge of the table.A small smirk appeared on his lips.

“Because.You argue too much .”

His gaze shifted toward Ruchika.

Ruchika blinked.“…Excuse me?”

Omkar continued calmly as if he had simply stated a fact.

“A saree requires patience.Meera has that.”

His eyes moved slowly toward Meera.

Then he looked back at Ruchika again.

“You don’t.”

Ruchika gasped dramatically.

“That is discrimination!”

She lifted the dress higher.

“So because I talk… I get punished with a complicated gown?!”

Omkar chuckled softly.

“Yes.”

Ruchika’s jaw dropped.

“You admit it?!”

Omkar shrugged slightly and said, “Consider it punishment.”

Ruchika looked like she might throw the dress at his face.

Meera quickly stepped in.

“Ruchi… calm down.”

But Ruchika wasn’t finished.

“No! This man just insulted my personality and my fashion sense in the same sentence!”

Omkar looked amused and said to Ruchika ,“I only insulted your patience.”

Ruchika pointed at him.

“You’re impossible.”

Meera finally placed her box firmly on the table.

“That doesn’t matter. We’re not wearing these.”

Both of them looked at her.Omkar’s smile faded slightly.“You are.”

Meera shook her head firmly.

“No.”

Ruchika nodded quickly.

“Yes. A very strong no.”

Omkar straightened slowly from the table.“You will attend the party tonight.”

Meera folded her arms and said,“We said no.”

Ruchika scoffed loudly.“Oh wow. First cleaning… now social service.”

Meera remained firm.

“We’re leaving.”

She reached for the door.

But Omkar spoke again. His voice was quieter now.“If you leave before the party…”

Both girls stopped. His tone had changed.

Now his voice carried something colder.“…things will become very unpleasant for both of you.”

Meera slowly turned back. Her eyes sharpened.

“You’re threatening us?” Meera asked him.

Omkar didn’t deny it.Instead he walked a little closer to her.

“Think of it as advice.” he warned her.

Meera stepped forward and said,“We’re not scared of you.”

Omkar tilted his head slightly.

“No?You should be.Because when i stop your scholarship and kick out both of you from your work places. ” he said.

Meera held his gaze stubbornly.

“You can’t force us.”

Omkar’s lips curved faintly.

“Interesting. I like your new version. Now let's see what an emotional fool girl can do!!”

He stepped even closer to Meera now.

“And now i noticed one thing. You argue almost as much as your friend.”

Meera’s voice sharpened.“I’m not afraid to speak now.”

Omkar lowered his voice.

“I noticed that.”

Then Omkar suddenly reached out.

His fingers lightly caught the edge of her dupatta. Make her closer to him.

Meera immediately stepped back.

“Don’t touch me.”

Omkar released it slowly and said “You react very quickly.”

Meera glared at him And said,“Because I don’t trust you."

Omkar’s smile returned.

“That makes this more interesting.”

Ruchika groaned loudly ,“Oh my God, are you two flirting or fighting?”

Omkar’s eyes darkened slightly.

“You misunderstand something.I am not asking.”His voice dropped lower.

Ruchika stepped forward and asked ,“And what if we still say no?”

Then he spoke slowly and said,“Then both of you will regret it.”

Meera pushed the saree box toward him again." Fine . We will stay . But don't dare do something which makes you regret it."

Omkar didn’t even look at the box.

Instead his gaze stayed fixed on her.

“Fine . I promise. I don't do something which I regret in future Ms Meera Sharma.”

Meera shook her head.

"Okay "

Then he turned around again.

His tone calm again.“Ruchika.”

“What now, mr ?”

“You will go to the party first.”

She blinked.

“…What?”she asked him with surprise.

Omkar’s gaze shifted toward Meera.

“And I will bring Meera later.”

Both girls froze.

Ruchika immediately protested.“No way!”

She pointed between them suspiciously.

“Why separate us?”Ruchika asked him.

Omkar’s smile returned slightly and said,“You’ll understand later.”

Ruchika shook her head quickly.

“I don’t like this plan.”

Omkar shrugged calmly and said,“You don’t need to like it.”

The warning was clear.Ruchika looked at Meera nervously.
