A Beautiful Disaster in Green
The mansion had completely transformed by the time evening arrived.
Golden lights glowed along the high ceilings, casting a soft warmth across the enormous hall. Soft instrumental music drifted through the air, smooth and elegant.
Guests began arriving one after another.Luxury cars lined the long driveway outside the mansion.
Men stepped out in perfectly tailored suits.Women followed in elegant gowns and sparkling jewelry.
The once quiet mansion was now alive with life.
Upstairs, inside one of the guest rooms...
Ruchika stood in front of the large mirror, holding the emerald green dress against herself like it was a suspicious object.
Her eyes narrowed at her own reflection.
"I still think this is suspicious," she muttered.
Meera, standing behind her, carefully adjusted the soft pleats of the light green saree wrapped around her.
The silk draped around her gracefully.
The delicate golden embroidery shimmered whenever the light touched it.
Her hair rested softly over one shoulder. Her green bangles looked too good on her.
She looked...Different tonight.
Elegant.Quietly breathtaking.
Ruchika turned around absentmindedly
And froze.Her eyes widened slowly.
"...Okay wait, meera!" ruchika said.
Meera glanced up and asked her,"What?"
Ruchika pointed at her dramatically.
"This is illegal." Ruchika said.
Meera blinked in confusion.
"What is illegal?"Meera asked her
"You," Ruchika said flatly.
Meera frowned slightly.
"What do you actually want to tell me?" Meera became irritated this time.
"You look so good !!"Ruchika said
Ruchika walked closer slowly, staring at her like she had just discovered something dangerous.
"This is not allowed." Ruchika said.
Meera sighed softly.
"It's just a saree." Meera said.
Ruchika stopped right in front of her.
"No. No, no, no.This is NOT just a saree." Ruchika stopped her
She circled around Meera slowly like a detective inspecting a crime scene.
"This is the kind of saree that causes public chaos ." she said while gesturing dramatically at Meera.
Meera raised an eyebrow.
"Public chaos?" Meera said.
"Yes.Men are losing their minds. Glasses dropping." Ruchika nodded firmly.
Meera rolled her eyes.
"You're exaggerating too much, ruchi!!"Meera said.
Ruchika gasped loudly.
"I am not exaggerating! This is the type of saree that ruins men's self-control." She leaned closer, whispering dramatically.
Meera laughed softly and said,
"You watch too many movies."
Ruchika crossed her arms and said,
"No. I observe reality."
She tilted her head while staring at Meera again.
Then she groaned."Oh no."
Meera blinked and asked her ,"What now?"
Ruchika covered her face with both hands.
"This is going to be a disaster.Because every man downstairs is going to stare at you ." she said.
Ruchika dropped her hands and pointed directly at her.
Meera frowned and said,
"No they won't."
Ruchika laughed and argued with that
"Oh yes they will." she said.
She gestured dramatically toward the door.
"You walk into that hall looking like this and you think people will just politely look away?"
She paused and waved her hands around Meer.Meera tried to stay calm.
"It's a party. Everyone will be busy."
Ruchika leaned closer again.
"No, Meera.They will be staring."
Her voice dropped to a dramatic whisper.
Meera shook her head.
"You're being ridiculous."
Ruchika suddenly grabbed her shoulders.
"Listen to me.If any random rich man comes and starts flirting with you tonight, I am NOT responsible."
Her expression turned extremely serious.
Meera stared at her.
"No one is going to flirt with me." Meera said.
She pointed at the mirror.
"Have you looked at yourself?" Ruchika said to meera.
Meera glanced at the mirror again, slightly embarrassed.
Ruchika continued dramatically.
"That saree, your hair, the whole mysterious quiet beauty thing you have going on..."
Meera laughed.
"You're impossible."
Ruchika slowly leaned closer.
"Wait . Now I understand." ruchika said.
Meera frowned and asked her,
"Understand what?"
Ruchika pointed a finger like she had just solved a mystery.
"THIS is why he gave you the saree. That man is planning something." she said.
Meera sighed.Meera shook her head.
"You're overthinking."
Ruchika scoffed.
"I never overthink suspicious rich men." she said.
Ruchika sighed dramatically.
"If someone kidnaps you tonight because you look too beautiful...I am running."
She pointed at the door.
Meera laughed softly and said,
"You're a terrible friend."
Then she smirked.
"But if someone handsome kidnaps you... at least invite me to the wedding ." she said.
Meera grabbed a pillow and threw it at her.
"RUCHIKA!"
Ruchika burst into laughter.
"Okay okay!"
Just as Ruchika was still laughing and dodging the pillow Meera had thrown at her.
Knock. Knock.
Both girls froze.Ruchika slowly turned toward the door.
"...See?" she whispered dramatically.
Meera raised an eyebrow.
"See what?"Meera asked.
Ruchika pointed at the door suspiciously.
"This is exactly how horror movies start." Ruchika said.
Meera sighed and said,
"It's probably just the staff."
Ruchika crossed her arms.
"Yes, because mysterious knocks at rich people's mansions are always normal."she said.
Before Meera could reply, the door slowly opened.
A female staff member stepped inside politely.
"Excuse me, ma'am."
Both girls turned toward her.
"Yes?" Meera asked calmly.
The staff member bowed slightly.
"Miss Ruchika, the party has already begun downstairs."she said.
Ruchika blinked and said,
"...Okay?"
The staff member continued respectfully.
"Sir has asked that you join the party now."
"And Meera?"Ruchika asked.
The staff hesitated slightly.
"Sir will bring Miss Meera later."
Both girls instantly looked at each other.
Ruchika's eyes narrowed.
"...No."Ruchika refused
The staff member looked confused.
"I'm sorry?"
Ruchika shook her head firmly. She walked closer to Meera and grabbed her arm.
"We're not separating.We go together."she said.
The staff member spoke gently.
"I apologize, ma'am, but those were Sir's instructions."
"Ruchi, it's fine."Meera tried to stay calm.
"No it's NOT fine . Tell your boss we come as a pair. Buy one get one free." Ruchika said immediately.
Ruchika opened her mouth to argue again..
But the staff spoke again.
"Oh... and ma'am...A young man has arrived at the party. He said he came to meet you."
Ruchika blinked and said,
"Me?"
The staff nodded.
"Did he say his name?"Ruchika looked confused.
The staff shook her head.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. I don't know."she said.
Ruchika slowly turned toward Meera.
Both girls stared at each other.
Ruchika narrowed her eyes.
"This is getting weirder. Anyway, what does he look like?"
The staff thought for a moment.
"He is tall... wearing a dark blue suit."
"That describes half the men downstairs."Ruchika blinked again.
Meera sighed softly and said to Ruchika ,"Ruchi, just go see."
"No.I'm not leaving you alone with that man."Ruchika immediately refused.
Meera smiled slightly.
"I'll be fine."
"You said that earlier too. Look where we are now." Ruchika said.
Meera chuckled softly.
"Relax."
"I'll come down with Omkar."She placed a reassuring hand on Ruchika's arm.
Ruchika looked extremely suspicious.
"That sentence sounds dangerous."
"Nothing will happen."Meera smiled gently.
Ruchika stared at her for a long moment and said,"...If he kidnaps you I'm blaming you."
Meera laughed softly.
"Go."
Ruchika sighed dramatically.
"Fine."
"This way, ma'am."The staff said to Ruchika .Ruchika walked toward the door slowly.
The party hall looked even more dazzling than before.
Ruchika stepped inside the hall slowly, her eyes scanning the crowd carefully. She leaned slightly toward the staff member beside her.
"So...which mysterious man is apparently looking for me?" she whispered suspiciously.
The staff member politely pointed toward a corner near the drinks table.
"He is standing there, ma'am."
Ruchika followed her gaze. She squinted slightly.
Then suddenly.
Her eyes widened.
"...NO WAY."
Across the hall, a tall young man turned around just at that moment.
The second he saw her.
His entire face lit up.
"RUCHIKA!"
Ruchika gasped loudly.
"VEER?!"
They met in the middle of the hall and hugged tightly like two chaotic best friends .
"You idiot! What are YOU doing here?!" Ruchika said, smacking his arm.
Veer laughed while rubbing his arm dramatically.
"Ow! Violence already? I just arrived!"
"You deserve it," Ruchika said.
Veer crossed his arms and tilted his head.
"I should ask you the same question."
He slowly looked her up and down. Then his eyebrows lifted.
"...Wow."
Ruchika narrowed her eyes instantly.
"What 'wow'?"
" You look too good today!" Veer said to ruchika.
"Thanks , idiot." Ruchika blushed.
Then he looked around the luxurious hall again.
Veer laughed again and then said,
" You tell me in a message to come here .Your message also sounded urgent. So, i came here immediately"
Ruchika blinked.
"...What message?"
Veer frowned.
"The message YOU sent me."He said.
"I didn't send you anything."She said.
Veer stared at her then he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He unlocked it and showed her the screen.
"Wait.Look this ."he said.
Ruchika leaned closer and read the message. Her expression slowly changed.
The message clearly said:
"Come to the location i spend . I really need help.please come fast as soon as possible."
Ruchika stared at it for a few seconds. Then she slowly lifted her head.
"I know exactly who did this."she said.
"Who?"he asked.
Ruchika muttered under her breath.
"Your favorite villain."
"Wait...You mean Omkar?"His grin widened.
Ruchika pointed at him dramatically.
"Yes!"
Veer laughed loudly.
"Of course. That man is unbelievable. What did you do to him this time?"
Ruchika grabbed his sleeve immediately.Veer scared by this.
"You have NO idea what we went through today."she said.
Veer leaned closer with curiosity..
"Oh I definitely want to hear this."
Ruchika started dramatically.
"This man needs us to clean his entire mansion."
Veer blinked."...What?"
"Yes!"She started counting on her fingers.
"The staircase. The hall. The balcony. The dining room. The giant table that probably cost more than my entire life."
Veer stared at her."...You're joking."
"I WISH I was joking."She kept listening.
"The library.The guest rooms.The windows!"
"You clean houses and now in designer dresses?"he asked her .
"SHUT UP!"Ruchika smacked his arm again.
Veer burst out laughing.
"Hey! I'm just asking!"
"You're asking nonsense," she snapped.
"Seriously though... since when did house cleaners start looking like they walked out of a fashion magazine?"Veer leaned closer with a teasing grin.
Ruchika rolled her eyes.
"Oh please."
She crossed her arms dramatically.
"I am a very stylish house cleaner."
"Clearly."Veer nodded slowly.
Veer started laughing.
"Wait... wait... wait...You cleaned a billionaire's mansion?"He held his stomach.
"Yes!"she said.
"And you survived? This is amazing." Veer laughed harder.
Ruchika smacked his shoulder.
"This is NOT amazing!"
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."Veer said.But he still looked amused.
Veer tilted his head curiously.
"So let me get this straight. You two cleaned his mansion..."
"Yes."she said.
"And then he gave you expensive clothes? And now you're attending his party?"he asked again.
"Yes."she said.
Veer shook his head slowly.
"...This sounds like the beginning of a very weird movie."
"If you laugh again, I will break your nose."Ruchika pointed a finger at him.
Veer raised his hands defensively.
"Okay okay! I'll behave."
Then he smirked again.
"...maybe."
"You're the worst."Ruchika sighed in frustration.
"Thank you."Veer grinned proudly.
Then he looked around the hall again.
"So where is Meera?"
"Still upstairs.With Omkar"Ruchika sighed.
Veer raised an eyebrow."Well..."
He crossed his arms thoughtfully.
"That sounds dangerous."

The distant sound of the party drifted faintly through the walls.
Soft music.
But inside the room...
Meera stood near the window, her fingers nervously brushing the edge of her saree. The soft green silk wrapped around her gracefully.
She took a quiet breath.
"Ruchi must already be creating chaos down there," she murmured softly.
Just then..
Knock. Knock.
The door slowly opened. And Omkar stepped inside.
Meera simply stared.Because tonight.
He looked different.
A perfectly fitted black suit shaped his tall frame. A deep emerald tie rested neatly against his crisp white shirt.
His hair was styled neatly...
He became Dangerously handsome.
But Omkar wasn't looking at himself.
He was looking at her.
And for a moment... he forgot to speak. His eyes moved slowly over her.
The soft saree.The delicate bangles.
The loose strand of hair near her cheek. Her light make up.
