Chapter 5 The Rejection

I thought we would relive the sweet passion of the past.

But Ye Wangbai stiffened and pushed me away.

“Baby, no.”

“Why?”

I didn’t understand.

He clearly had a reaction.

Besides, after six months of abstinence, I refused to believe he had no needs.

“Your body isn’t well. I don’t want you to feel worse.”

“It’ll feel better after.”

“Be good. It’s late. I have a business trip tomorrow. Let’s sleep.”

With that, he held me and closed his eyes.

His sleep was always good.

He fell asleep quickly.

But I stayed awake all night.

This wasn’t right.

I had a vague feeling something was wrong.

The next day, Ye Wangbai left for his business trip.

He got up early, prepared meals for me for the whole day.

Then he kissed me. “Baby, I’ll be back tomorrow. Be good. Keep the light on when you sleep. Call me if you feel bad.”

“Okay.”

When we first got together, he said he wanted to start a business.

So I invested three million in him.

He was capable. The company grew smoothly.

But it required monthly trips.

Lately business was busy, so the trips became more frequent.

Before, I never thought much of it.

But maybe because of the pregnancy, I became more sensitive.

After he left, I followed him.

If there was doubt, I needed to find the truth.

Over two hours later, Ye Wangbai’s car stopped at a five-star hotel in the neighboring city.

He didn’t go to the front desk. He headed straight for the elevator.

At the elevator, a graceful woman was waiting.

The moment she saw him, she rushed over and hugged him tightly.
