Chapter 9 Cherry Blossoms on the Mountain

Soon enough, Ye Wangbai couldn't hold back any longer.

A week later, we went for a prenatal checkup.

The doctor said I was entering the late stage of pregnancy and could do some light exercise.

It would build strength and prepare for delivery.

On the way back, Ye Wangbai asked, “Do you remember the place where we first met?”

How could I forget?

That was where I saved a man.

I once thought he would be my lifelong partner.

Who knew he would turn around and plot to kill me and our children.

Ye Wangbai continued, “I remember that mountain is covered in cherry blossoms this time of year. They're probably all in bloom now. Want to go see them?”

I did.

That place was far from the city, deserted, perfect for murder and body disposal.

I smiled. “I remember Song Mei is in Jiang City. Her photography skills look pretty good on her Moments. Let's invite Song Mei along. I want her to take some couple photos for us before the babies are born.”

The moment he heard Song Mei's name, Ye Wangbai rejected it without thinking.

“What for? I just want to spend time alone with you.”

“More people make it more fun. I'll ask if she's free.”

Song Mei naturally wouldn't refuse.

She agreed almost immediately.

After that, Ye Wangbai had nothing more to say.

And so the three of us, each with our own thoughts, quietly waited for that day.

The weekend came quickly.

We slept in and left when we woke up naturally.

Ye Wangbai drove slowly the whole way, worried I would feel uncomfortable.

By the time we reached the foot of the mountain, it was already evening.

At the meeting point, Song Mei waved at us from far away.

Ever since the Pregnancy Reaction started tormenting me, my complexion had been terrible.

I usually wore loose maternity clothes when going out.

I had no energy to put on makeup.

I had thrown up the entire ride.

Right now my lips were pale and my face looked haggard.

In contrast, Song Mei wore a pink yoga outfit that hugged every curve.

With her delicate makeup, she looked bright and charming from a distance, like a striking scenery.

A mantis's compound eyes can see 360 degrees around.

So without even turning, I already noticed Ye Wangbai's Adam's apple bob.

His gaze swept over Song Mei's full chest, her perky hips, then quickly pulled back.
