Chapter Eighteen #2

He loved the way she smiled as she nodded.

She seemed more… confident, maybe. He hoped that was it.

He hoped that knowing he loved her made her feel more relaxed, if nothing else.

He couldn’t give her confidence — he knew that.

But the more she relaxed, the more likely she was to find it for herself.

“I think we should collect takeout and bring it back here.”

His heart swelled in his chest. And he had to shift his hips so that she wouldn’t feel what swelled in his pants when she leaned in and kissed him and added, “I don’t want to be around other people tonight. This is the first time we get to… be alone.”

Watching her bite down on her bottom lip made him need to do the same.

What started out as a slow kiss soon turned deeper, hungrier, until it was almost desperate.

Her hands came up around his shoulders, then her fingers slid up into his hair, and before he was aware of what was happening, they were no longer sitting on the sofa but lying on it.

Her legs spread wide, him wedged between them, rocking his hips desperately.

He forced himself to lift his head and look down into her eyes. Her cheeks were flushed, but she wasn’t embarrassed. She grasped the front of his shirt in both hands and murmured, “Maybe the beach can wait. What do you think?”

He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to get his brain back online. But even then, he wasn’t sure if it was the voice of reason or the voice of desire that answered.

“I think you’re right.”

Savannah could feel her heart pounding in her temples as Jake led her by the hand down the hallway to his bedroom. She wasn’t nervous. She was more turned on than she’d ever been in her whole life.

When they reached his room and Jake closed the door behind them, she clung to him as he leaned her back against it.

The feel of his whole body against hers when he rested it against her, trapping her there exactly where she wanted to be, had her scrabbling at his T-shirt, eager to get him out of it.

He rested his hands on her hips and looked down into her eyes.

A rush of warmth filled her chest at the look in his eyes.

It was full of… love. There was no mistaking it.

It hit her even harder when she realized nothing in her wanted to second-guess it.

She didn’t even feel like it was too good to be true.

It just was true. True and real and solid, just like Jake himself.

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

She tugged at the hem of his shirt with a little laugh. “Jake. I’m so sure it’s not even funny.”

He chuckled, and she slapped his arm. “I said it’s not funny.”

That made him laugh harder, but she didn’t mind so much when he reached for the hem of her T-shirt and pulled it off over her head.

“It kind of is funny,” he told her. “But…” the laughter left his face, and his hands came up to cup her breasts. “You’re perfect, Savvie.”

“I’m far from perfect, but I’m not going to let that stop me.” She leaned forward, pushing his shirt up, but instead of helping her remove it, he reached around and unclasped her bra.

Her breath hitched in her chest in the moment it took him to get rid of his T-shirt, but as soon as he met her gaze again, she relaxed.

Even though his gaze landed on her breasts next, he didn’t reach out and touch.

Instead, he wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her close to his now-naked chest.

“I’ve been trying really hard to make you understand… In fact, I’m hoping that I’ve succeeded and you can tell me what I was about to say.”

She nuzzled her head under his chin, loving the feel of him, then chuckling when he tapped her shoulder and said, “We’re not moving on until we get this straight, so it’d be awesome if you’d hurry up about it.”

She leaned back and looked up into his eyes. “Okay, I know what you were going to say. You think I’m perfect, and you’re the only one who gets to decide what perfect means to you. Right?”

He nodded happily. “Glad we understand each other.”

With that, he tightened his arms around her waist, lifting her off her feet and carrying her to the bed. When they reached it, he didn’t let go of her but fell back himself, taking her with him.

She didn’t even know how they managed it so fast, but in less than no time they were both naked, lying facing each other. His hand came up to cup her cheek as he asked, “Are you okay?”

She covered his hand with her own. “I am, Jake. More okay than I’ve ever been.

I feel like I should be nervous, but I’m not.

I think part of it is because… I already feel comfortable here.

Since I stayed last night. But more than that, it’s because of you.

” Her smile grew bigger. “Knowing that you love me? How could I be nervous about anything?”

Her eyes drifted closed as he curled one arm around her and his other hand slid down between her legs.

She bit down on her bottom lip when he touched her.

His fingers felt so big, and... her skin seemed too tight all of a sudden.

As if there were suddenly more of her and it could no longer contain all she felt—all she was.

He leaned forward, turning her onto her back, pressing his knee between her thighs, spreading them wider.

His fingers stroked and teased, and when his mouth came down on hers, she kissed him back hungrily.

She wrapped both arms around his neck, pulling him down to take the kiss deeper.

Tingles chased each other down her thighs and up into her stomach, radiating out from the place where he touched her.

His thumb circled the little bundle of nerves, his finger stroked and tested until. ..

She moaned into his mouth when he eased inside her. Just the tip, just a little way, but her whole body seemed to start and end at the place where he was for the first time entering her – and this was only his finger!

He broke the kiss, lifted his head, but she breathed, "Yes," knowing what he felt he needed to ask and wanting him to know that no way did she want to stop.

To the contrary, she wanted more, needed more, and she needed it now.

She opened her thighs a little wider, lifted her hips, and moaned louder when his finger thrust and held deep.

Her inner muscles fluttered, clamping down, needing to hold him there while also needing him to pick up the pace.

"Jake!" She gasped his name when pressure from his thumb circling her clit made her whole body quiver.

He seemed to take that as his signal and began to pump his finger faster and faster.

She grasped at his back, hands desperate for something to hold onto as he drove her higher and higher.

He added a second finger and she bit down on his shoulder even as her hips rocked frantically to keep time.

When he claimed her mouth again and his tongue tangled with hers, she came undone.

All the pleasure that had been building, coiled low in her stomach, suddenly ignited, sending waves of pleasure crashing over her.

She thrashed and gasped, but his fingers kept her anchored in reality, steadily pumping in and out until she slowly came back to herself.

"Oh, Jake."

The look on his face when he looked down into her eyes made her heart melt in her chest. He looked so pleased with himself, so turned on that it might be painful, and so completely and unmistakably in love with her.

"You okay?"

She let out a weak laugh. "So much more than okay that I can't even... I just had the best sex of my life—with your hand!"

His smile grew bigger. "That was amazing, Savvie. To watch you, to feel you."

She curled her arm around his waist and pulled him closer. "It was more than amazing, and now I want... to feel you."

His sharp inhale said he knew exactly what she meant, but instead of rolling on top of her like she'd hoped, he rolled away from her, leaving her cold.

Her whole body heated straight back up when he took a condom from his nightstand and tore the packet with his teeth.

Her heart thumped steadily as she watched him roll it on.

"I can go on the pill or something."

He gave her a worried look. "Do you have a latex allergy or something?"

She let out a short laugh. "No, but the thirty seconds it took you to get that on was thirty seconds too long."

He gave her a wry smile. "I want to say I'll do practice drills till I have it down to five seconds or less, but.

.." His eyes darkened and the way he ran his tongue over his full lips before he continued had to be the sexiest thing she'd ever seen.

"But the thought of being inside you bare.

..?" He leaned in, nuzzling his lips to her neck and murmuring, "Are you ready for me? "

Her answer was to try to haul him on top of her. He chuckled and obliged, positioning himself between her legs, pushing up on his hands so that he could hold her gaze.

She shook her head, then before he could panic, wrapped her arms around his waist. "I'm so ready I might melt, but Jake, I want to feel you." She hugged him tight. "Your whole body."

He lowered his chest onto hers. "I'm not too heavy?"

"No, you're perfect..." She didn't know how to explain that the weight of him on top of her made her feel like she'd finally found her home.

When he slid one arm underneath her and lifted her up to him, she moaned as he pressed inside her.

"Yes," she breathed before he had the chance to ask any more questions—whatever they might be, her answer was the same.

And then he pushed deeper, and it felt almost impossible. He was so big, so hard. She'd never felt so full. He kept going until he was buried so deep that his hips were flush with hers. He wasn't just inside her—he became a part of her.

Every nerve ending in her body tingled as he gave her a moment to adjust. He felt so tense, like power coiled, waiting to be unleashed, and she needed to feel it. He was still her steady, caring, sweet Jake, but she needed... "Please, Jake."

As if her words released his restraint, he pulled back, and this time there was no gentle slide—only one deep, hard thrust after another.

Every time he pulled back, her body wanted to mourn the loss of him but didn't get the chance before he was filling her again.

Over and over, driving her higher and higher.

Her breasts bounced, the headboard slammed against the wall faster and faster until.

.. "Jake!" She screamed his name as her orgasm crashed over her, pulling her under and somehow lifting her up and carrying her away at the same time.

She could only cling to him as he slammed deeper and harder, until her release triggered his and the world faded away as their bodies melded into one.

She clung to him tighter, not wanting to let him go, not wanting to leave the place he'd carried her away to. But they came back down to earth anyway, shaking and panting. He slumped down onto her shoulder and an aftershock raced through her when he kissed her neck.

"Damn, Savvie. I love you."

She squeezed her eyes tight shut and clamped her arms and legs tight around him for one last moment as she breathed, "Love you too, Jake."
