Chapter Thirty-One
Matt
I was still having trouble understanding how the past twenty-four hours were real. Sixteen years was not enough to prepare me for this high.
It was eight in the morning, and El was naked beneath me, her hair fanned out on the pillows around her, draping the white cases with caramel.
We had an hour and a half until we had to head out to Illinois, and there was no better way I would’ve wanted to spend it than exactly like this.
I tattooed her forehead with a kiss as I slid inside her, once again pleased by how wet she was for me.
Every sound she made sounded like nirvana leaving her lips. It fueled me, and I couldn’t fucking believe how good she felt.
I’d waited for fucking ever to be this close to her, fantasized about this moment a million times. But it was all so much better than I could’ve imagined.
Her soft skin brushed along mine, and I couldn’t get enough of the feeling.
The bed rocked beneath us steadily until I quickened the pace, plowing into her until her moans turned to screams. I could feel the end of her with each stroke.
I was sure the rest of the house, whoever was awake at least, could hear every wail that was leaving her prized lips, but neither of us gave a damn.
“Oh, fuck,” El sighed loudly.
“My name, Princess,” I demanded through a huff. “Say my name.”
“Matt,” she moaned, music to my ears.
“Again.”
“Matt.”
Oh. My. God. Had I died and gone to heaven?
I’d never been so turned on, ever. She was looking at me like I was some sort of sex God.
I was ruined, happily. Changed, magically. In love, indefinitely.
I fucked her until she was writhing beneath me, her body beginning to tense up.
I could feel her tightening around me; it was taking everything in me not to come in her instantly.
And if she was going to continue exclaiming my name in that breathy ass note, I was not going to last as long as I usually did.
Fuck, I gotta switch positions.
I waited until her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she flowed through her orgasm until I flipped onto my back, swiftly pulling her on top of me.
“Ride.”
El didn’t argue, didn’t give me that little divot between her brows again.
She wasted no time sitting right where I wanted her.
When her breath hitched loudly in a painfully pleasurable cry as our hips met, with me filling her completely, I nearly lost it.
She started bouncing on me, giving me the sight I’d been wanting for years.
“El, you’re riding me so fucking good right now,” I praised, eyes meeting hers.
A hum, accompanied by a smile, was the only response I got, yet I couldn’t help but smile back.
There wasn’t a single woman that I’d ever come across who was more beautiful than El, but right now, she might’ve had herself beat.
She’d never looked fucking better than in this moment, hair a mess, no makeup on, cheeks bright pink and still sleepy-eyed, riding the hell out of me. But holy fuck, was she stunning.
As the minutes ticked by, I could feel her starting to tighten again. Hands gripping her waist, I began lifting her up and slamming her against me, harder and faster until she was screaming again.
I wanted to be closer to her.
I yanked her down so her tits were pouring across my chest and my hand was running through the hair on the back of her head. Her ear was right at my mouth, and I grazed my tongue against it, feeling the lightest shiver roll through her as my hips got to work.
“Be the good girl I know you are and come all over me,” I hissed.
“Yes,” she moaned.
“Yes?”
“Yes, Matt.”
Much better.
A deep grunt, nearly animalistic, rolled through my chest as she soaked me with her orgasm, and I couldn’t hold back anymore. I emptied myself inside her, listening to her yelp in my ear, complimenting me.
I grew up with her; I knew so much about her. Now, I was getting to know her body. And I fucking loved it, because from here on out, I truly would know everything about her.
Lying beside each other, our heavy breathing and pounding hearts were the only sounds in the room. It wasn’t until El’s breathing evened out and I glanced over that I saw she’d fallen back asleep.
I stood, throwing on grey sweatpants before carefully tucking her in. I was going to make her some breakfast. I’d even bring it to her in bed if she wanted. She could have anything and everything she desired for the rest of our lives; no cost was too great, no sacrifice too big.
Thankfully, I hadn’t forgotten to lock the door this time. Even though no one had barged in, papers were taped all along the outside of my door, courtesy of my asshole roommates. By the looks of it, everyone participated, making a poster of their own.
Congratulations, Mattie! Only took you 16 years!
Matt & El sittin’ in a tree... F-U-C-K-I-N-G
She’s still out of your league, congrats tho
Should we go out to celebrate this win?
Happy you finally got her to like you back!!
Proud of u
Idiots.
The crazy part was that I wasn’t even mad. I didn’t think anything would be able to tear me down from the immaculate high I was feeling.
Yesterday, after TJ announced our business to the whole house, the guys hadn’t said anything about it all day. But I was ninety-nine percent sure it was because El had appeared in the living room at the same time as me. The guys would never try to embarrass her, but me? I was fair game.
Strolling into the common areas, everyone started applauding with amused grins, jokingly giving howls.
“Guys, shut the hell up,” I kept walking, fighting off a smile.
“We’re just so proud of your character development,” Cody choked back a chuckle.
“Did you see our notes?” TJ asked, bouncing up and down in his seat like a kid.
“Yes, TJ,” I sighed. “I saw your fucking notes.”
“Did you like them?”
I looked him right in the face, keeping my expression stoic. “Does it look like I liked them?”
“Kinda.”
Rolling my eyes, I took the eggs out and got to work, making them the way I knew El liked them— sunny side up with a side of toast. The whole time, the boys were all begging me to make them some, but I ignored every single request. No way in hell was I wasting my morning away being their maid when I could be in bed with El.
We did end up eating breakfast in bed before getting ready and loading up the car to head out.
Even though my shitty Toyota Celica had been replaced four years ago with a slightly less shitty car, I still didn’t trust that thing.
There was no way in hell that my car would make it all the way home.
The last few times I went home, I flew. The hour-and-a-half flight was a piece of cake, and I didn’t mind it, but with El’s Lexus being available, this was easier for all of us.
My facade went up the second Jade was in the car.
Whatever was going on between El and me was fresh. It was something we needed to explore before anyone, especially our families, needed to know.
Which meant that we were going to have to spend the next five hours pretending like I hadn’t just came so deep inside her that she screamed with satisfaction.
“It’s too damn early for this,” Jade muttered, her seatbelt clicking into place.
“It’s nine-thirty,” I said.
“I like to sleep in on the weekends.”
“You’re in the backseat. You can literally sleep the whole way there if you wanted.”
Jade murmured to herself, probably cursing at me, but I ignored her.
“Well, you’re a joy today,” El spoke over her shoulder.
Jade grinned. “I’m always a joy.”
“Debatable,” I said.
The second El mapped directions, we set off.
With nothing but a side view of the angel, I soaked her in, the sight more addictive than a cigarette.
It hadn’t been more than an hour when Jade let out an animated gag. “Why are you staring at her like that, weirdo?”
Pretending I hadn’t been caught, I wrestled my gaze away from El and out the window instead, watching the desolate winter pass by— all bare trees and snowbanks lining the side of the road where they’d been plowed.
“Yeah, Matt,” El teased. I could hear the smile in her voice, and I wanted to turn around and kiss her.
“I’m not staring. I’m just observant, is all,” I lied.
Jade rustled around in the backseat. “You’re the least observant person I know.”
Glancing over my shoulder, my brows scrunched together. “What makes you say that?”
Suddenly, the rebel wouldn’t look at me. She peered out her window the same way I had moments prior. Like she had something to hide. “Nothing.”
If this distraction fell through, I’d find myself straight back to admiring El, and getting caught twice wasn’t the best way to start out this trip.
Our family Christmas party was next weekend, and this car ride was supposed to be my damn practice run. I wondered if El was struggling with this the same way I was.
Deciding to keep some form of conversation going, I exhaled loudly. “Still drinking far too much for your body weight, Jade?”
“You know it.”
“Jade.”
“I’m kidding,” she rumbled through an eye roll. “I haven’t been drinking that much actually.”
El butted in. “That’s good. Have you been seeing your new friends more then?”
After we convinced Jade to ditch those girls that she was with on the night her phone got stolen, she finally found a new group of friends that were her age. Some of them were guys, which of course, I hated, but El told me I was being dramatic.
“She can have friends of the opposite gender, Matt. I mean, look at us,” El had said.
Yeah, El. Look at us now.
“Yeah, I have,” Jade said.
“Are you ever gonna bring them around for us to meet them?” I asked.
With a light scoff, Jade shook her head. “No.”
El asked, “Why not?”
“I... don’t know if you’d get along with them.”
El and I had matching faces of skepticism, trading glances.
“Why?” El asked again.
“Well...” Jade spoke, “El, you probably would. Matt, not so much.”
I gave a disappointed tsk. “I can get along with people, you know.”
“Barely.”
“Whatever.”
The rest of the car ride was filled with music, games, and chatter.
And of course, the agony of having to hide my feelings. That was there too.
