Chapter 64
Anu-Ms K
We have a date. Not sure why I’m excited about this date. We’ve gone out several times together before, but this is the second date that we had on the books since the night of the auction. According to him, all our other outings aren’t like this one. This one is the date.
Nkem has forgiven him because of how he dealt with Teni. From what I hear, Teni’s dad has disowned him, and he’s roaming the street these days, and no one cares about him. I shudder, just thinking about that day. Shake it off, I remind myself.
I know my brother heard about it, and that’s why he came to visit and he suddenly thought I needed to meet a younger brother of his friend. I chuckled, remembering how Daniel threw a fit about my date with said friend. He certainly didn’t find it funny at all and really made that known.
I check myself out in the mirror; I like what I see.
Nkem has perfected the neutral and classy makeup highlighting my cheek bones.
At first, I wasn’t feeling so confident in the dress but, I’m loving it right now.
Strapping my pink three-inch heel with gold butterfly, I’m confident that I’m ready for this date with Daniel.
Stepping into the living room, Daniel is on the sofa waiting for me. He sure looks dashing in the bespoke suit. His open admiration is clear as day.
“I should ask for a formal date more open, Princess. You look like a goddess.” I blow him a kiss.
“I would need a real kiss when we get back.”
“Guaranteed.” I smirk.
“Let’s get going.”
I take his hand, and we head out to his car.
“No Zack?”
“Just us tonight,” he answers and I smile. I will get to flirt and tease him all I want.
“So, where are you taking me?”
“It’s a surprise, Princess. Patience.”
I return a pouty face.
A few minutes into our drive, he gets a call from Bruce and connects it to his earpiece. I can tell he’s not too happy about the call his grip tightens on the steering wheels. He hangs up the call and exhales. I know things aren’t good.
“Everything ok?” I ask in subtle tone.
“No, Bruce just shared information on something I need to take care of like, right away.”
“Okay. We can head back home, and you can go take care of the stuff.”
“We can’t even afford to go back; that’s how urgent it is. We’ll go there and I’ll get the stuff I need, then we will go on our date.”
“Are you sure, Daniel? I don’t mind going back home.”
“I’m sure that I’m taking you on a date tonight. This is just a temporary detour. I promise princess” he says but he looks torn
“Okay.” I sit back, but I can tell he’s quite upset.
Not to poke, I remain quiet as we drive in a direction I’m unaware off.
The gated place said, “The Edge”. We drive down a long driveway.
I almost thought it was a side road, then I see the large building with lots of expensive cars parked to the side.
A few drivers sit in the car, some stand by the car or sit on the hood.
“Where are we?” I ask, a bit nervous. I trust him but this place feels like middle of nowhere, creepy.
“Somewhere I never want to take you to, but I must tonight, if I want to end the nightmare of my client.”
“Should I be worried?”
“No, I will keep you safe.”
I nod and watch him go around to open my door. He takes my hand and kisses both hands.
“Anu, I need you to trust and follow all the instructions I tell you tonight. Do not deviate from my instructions.”
“I can wait in the car with the doors locked.”
“I can’t leave you in the car, princess.”
“Where are we?”
“We are at a high-profile sex club called The Edge. I am a member, which is why I could get through the gate. I must accost a guy here; he’s trying to use his power and influence to ruin the life of a female client that I’m helping.
Bruce and I have been trying to get this guy for weeks, and we just found him.
I can’t let him get away. That is why I didn’t turn back.
I also don’t want you here, but I don’t have a choice.
So, when we walk in there, you must do everything I tell you. ”
I nod.
“Will someone grab me?”
“Not when you are with me.”
I nod, though nervous. I do trust him.
The lobby is sumptuous, with a grand chandelier, marble floors and gold wall trims on the walls.
I hold on tight to Daniel when two tall and menace-looking men with guns step aside at the elevator.
We ride in silence to the basement, two floors down.
I cling to him when I see people in leather clothing and some in masks.
A few hold sex toys or whips; some women are in panties only with their breast hanging out.
Daniel pushes a button, and we enter a room that’s blue, with two women behind a counter.
“Welcome, Mr. Wyler,” the ladies greet in a velvety tone with wide smiles.
“I need the gray room.” Daniel’s voice is icy, which seems to startle them.
“Sure, and would she be needing anything?” one of the ladies ask, turning to me. I feel over-dressed in my sleeveless silk navy blue plunge cowl neck dress that clings to my body like a second glove.
“She doesn’t need anything or anyone.” His tone firm.
One of the ladies rolls her eyes at me. The other swipes Daniel’s card and hands it back.
“I see you finally decided to show up,” says a voice behind us. “And you brought a flavor.”
I feel Daniel tense next to me. I turn to the voice and see the lawyer that was next to him in court weeks ago.
Her smile fades when she sees me. Daniel turns and doesn’t say a word in response to her.
He holds tighter to me and leads us towards another elevator.
I want so much to say something, but I remain quiet.
We take the elevator five floors up and arrive on the floor with all gray décor with slow music blasting.
There’s no one in the halls, and I need not imagine what’s happening behind the closed doors.
The screams and heavy body pounding are clear.
I trust Daniel, my subconscious reminds.
We get to the room, and he ushers me in. I look around the slightly dim room that’s decorated in gray and white, a king-size bed facing a large, closed gray curtain.
“Wait for me in here. Do not leave this room. There’s a bathroom to the left,” he points, “and a drink in fridge. I have told them we don’t need anything, so no one besides me should come into this room.”
I nod, taking a seat on the bed. My mouth feels dry.
“Can I open the curtain? It’s a bit dim for my liking.”
He comes closer to me and raises my chin up to look at him.
“I’m sorry about this, Anu. Please, don’t open the curtain. I promise to be back, and we can go on our date in.” He looks at his watch. “Thirty minutes tops. But, please, stay in here and do not touch a thing.”
He kisses my lips and turns towards the door. He turns the light to full, so the room isn’t dim anymore.
He leaves, locking the door behind him.
I can hear the sexual throes from the surrounding rooms. I reach to grab my phone and realized I must have left it in Daniel’s car. Great, now I must stay here, bored, for thirty minutes.
I lay on the bed, looking up at the ceiling like it has musical notes for me to study.
Not sure how long I was in the same position.
I hear the door click. I rise to a sitting position with a smile.
Only my smile fades when one of the menacing guys from downstairs, the lawyer lady, one of the ladies at the desk earlier tonight, and an older-looking white male in dress pants only, a hairy chest and large beer belly.
I look at them, unsure what to say as I scramble to my feet.
“You need to leave this room,” the lawyer lady says, hands resting on her waist with a scorn at me in her tight leather micro mini dress, with boobs about to spill out.
“Daniel will be back soon. He told me not to leave this room.” My heart is pounding so hard, I’m beginning to shake.
She gives a sad chuckle.
“Daniel left, and you are going to spend the night with Jude here.” The older white male steps forward, and I take steps back.
“Daniel would never leave me,” I challenge. The Lawyer lady has a conspiratorial grin on her face, enough for me to not believe any word coming out of her mouth, not like I believed it to begin. “Can you please get him?”
The lawyer laughs again. The desk lady is avoiding eye contact and not looking at me.
“You must think you are special, but you are not. This is Daniel’s MO. He has already collected the money from Jude for a night with you. Besides, his card didn’t go through for this expensive room. It was all pretense to get you here.”
“That’s not true, he wouldn’t leave me here and he would never trade me for money,” I snap.
She snickers like the joke’s on me. Her malicious eyes and mouth can’t convince me that Daniel would do that to me. I trust him completely, her not at all.
The Jude guy move closer, and I move back again. He tries to grab me and I instinctively hit him in the face. He staggers back with a cry of pain.
“Don’t touch me,” I yell at him. “I’m not for sale!”
“Grab her,” the lawyer says to the menace looking tattooed guy.
I attempt to kick him, and he blocks it. He grabs my arm, and I punch his face. No way will I leave without a fight.
“She’s a feisty one; I’m going to enjoy taming her,” says the Jude guy with a laugh. The tattoo covered guy tries to twist my arm.
I fight, screaming, “Daniel! Daniel! Daniel!” but the man subdues me on the bed. The lawyer lady is laughing. My dress is torn, barely covering my breasts. The desk lady is looking away.
“WHAT. THE.FUCK. IS. GOING. ON. HERE?” I hear Daniel’s deep growl.
If looks could kill, the lot of them would be dead. The guy releases me quickly. I scurry away from the guy, pulling my dress as best as possible to cover my breasts.
“Someone better start speaking!” he yells.
“Sophie told me you brought a lady for me, and she was waiting for me in here. But this stupid girl doesn’t know the rules and attacked me when I tried to collect,” Jude says.
I see the rage bulging from Daniel’s eyes.
“Did you touch her?”
Jude shakes his head.
“She punched me,” he whines.
“And I will unalive you if you don’t stop speaking. Sit your ass down. I will get back to you.”
He keeps quiet and sits on the floor.
He turns his attention to the tattooed guy. “Did you touch my girl?”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know. Sophie said she would be difficult and wouldn’t leave, even though the room isn’t paid for.”
“I didn’t ask if you were sorry. I asked if you touched my girl,” he shouts. Even I shake at the anger in his voice.
“I’m sorry, Daniel,” he says quietly.
I watch his lips tremble; he looks scared of Daniel. I’m scared of Daniel right now too. The Lawyer takes a few steps back. I see fear in her eyes, her earlier bravado is long gone.
“You touched my girl, did you see me leave this building?” he responds by shaking his head. “Now sit your ass down, I will deal with you later.”
The menace guy rushes to sit next to Jude on the floor. The lawyer is trying to put up a brave face.
“I thought you left, and Marie said your card didn’t go through.” Her lying words are shaky.
“I didn’t say that,” Marie quickly responds. “I only came up because you said you would get my kid taken from me if I didn’t come up here with you.”
Daniel takes his jacket off and comes to me. He drapes it around me to cover me up. Taking my hand, he sees the bruises of the menace guys hold on my hand.
“I’m sorry, princess,” he says, wiping the tears that are falling from my face, pulling me into his arms. We hear a scoff behind us. He turns to the Marie lady. “Take my girl down. I will be right down.” She nods and comes to me.
I follow her. At the door, I turn to look at the three people and Daniel, who’s rolling up his sleeves.
“Go, Princess. I promise to be right there.”
I nod.
The door closes and I follow the lady down the hallway. My whole being is trembling; I almost got raped tonight. I pull the jacket closer.
“I’m sorry about that. Sophie is a bitch. Daniel did pay for the room in full, and she’s jealous of you. I tried to stop her, but she threatened my job here and to have my daughter taken from me.”
I nod, unsure exactly what to say.
“Can I get some water, please?”
“Sure.”
She leads me to a room with a little girl sleeping on a bed, and goes to the fridge to get me bottled water. I take the bottle from her and gulp it fast.
We sit in silence, waiting for Daniel.
