Chapter 13

Elli

Groaning as I move my hand to my forehead I can’t help but wonder why I’m feeling woozy.

Blinking, I realize I don’t recognize the chandelier…chandelier!! Sitting up quickly; I look around with a deep frown.

I don’t know this place! Where the heck am I, and where is Tia?

Standing, although a little wobbly, I make my way to the door on one side of the room and see it’s an ensuite, great…freshening up and looking at myself in the mirror I remember everything.

Leaving work and getting something placed over my nose and mouth.

Some asshole has kidnapped us, so again, where is Tia?

Rushing over to the door, I guess is the way out of the bedroom.

I open it and face a guard, and looking at him, he’s a made man.

“Oh fuck, Nico Vincholetti kidnapped me, right?”

I ask of the man, and he gives me a lopsided grin, which is enough to answer my question.

I open my mouth and bellow, “TIA…!”

“HERE, ELLI, WHERE ARE WE?”

Is bellowed right back, and from the sound it’s coming from the bedroom across from mine and one door down to the right.

“IT’S NICO’S DOING,”

I bellow back at her.

“Oh, fuck…”

I hear from behind Tia’s door, and I have to agree that was my first thought when I realized too.

“Do you have to shout?”

The guard outside Tia’s room asks, to which I give him the middle finger and re-enter the bedroom.

Checking the windows, I see guards patrolling outside.

That eliminates going out the window.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, I have to think about what to do next.

Frustration builds, and as I know I have no weapons, I need to devise something.

Looking in the bathroom, there is the mirror on the wall which I can smash and use a piece of.

But I’d have to wrap something around the base or I’d cut my hands to pieces in the process.

An hour later, I have a nice shard of glass with the base covered in a piece of the bedsheet.

The sheet that is in tatters now.

That gives me an idea, and I pick up anything that can be smashed and throw it at the door and wall.

My aim is not so good, which is unusual as I’m a great knife thrower as a norm.

Maybe it’s the drug not out of my system yet!

I don’t care what I destroy.

I smash the chair, small desk, dresser drawers, and even the nightstands.

This is great stress relief, I have to admit.

But I’m keeping a few things at the ready for when that asshole opens the door to enter, and he will at some point.

Shouting to Tia, and hoping she can hear me, I tell her to trash her room; I clap with glee when she responds she heard me.

Puffing with effort, I hear footsteps then speaking outside the door.

I pick up the vase I kept handily ready, and I throw that straight at Nico’s head as he enters.

Then I grab everything I’ve kept at the ready and one after the other, I launch it at him, and the idiots that are standing alongside him.

I smirk as Nico is dragged out of the room…for his own safety, of course, and I giggle quietly to myself because there is more of my temper to come.

Making sure that not a thing can be used in the room when I’m finished, I smirk as even one side of the bed is collapsed, and that took some breaking.

I was jumping on it like a trampoline and made sure I was most vicious with it until I busted the bed.

I laughed for minutes afterwards.

I’m sure the guy outside the door was asking his friend if he should risk seeing what I was doing, but his reply was, “Fuck no, leave her to it.”

Tia has been shouting back and forth with me, and we are both tired now.

I suggested we get some rest ready for ‘Round 2’ in a while when I have my breath back.

I must have fallen asleep because I suddenly realize everything is quiet and I need the bathroom.

I climb off the broken bed and quickly freshen up.

Stepping into the bedroom I sigh as I’m ready to get the heck out of here.

I need to get Tia and make a run for it.

Opportunity knocks as the door opens and a woman steps inside.

I don’t stop and think.

I launch myself at her, knocking her and her tray of food out of my way.

The guard outside grabs my arm and I grip his wrist, spin so my back is to his front, and flip him over my shoulder.

I take a fighting stance and shout to Tia, “Girl, it’s time to roll.”

I don’t wait for her response as my man is back up onto his feet, and his friend is heading my way.

The woman is sitting on her ass, looking shocked at what is happening around her.

Bouncing onto my toes, I lift my fists under my chin and give this guy a steely look.

I’m sure his feet halt for a second right before he launches forward.

I duck under his arm, elbow him in the back of his head right as Tia opens her door and launches herself onto her guy's back.

The noise must attract attention as from nowhere, more men appear.

But they are not making any effort to grab hold of either me or Tia, and we take that advantage as we fight with all we have.

Suddenly I’m lifted from behind, my arms pinned to my side, rendering my hands useless, but I throw my head back, aiming to smack this asshole in the face.

Sadly, he must guess my intention and moves his head, so I only hit his shoulder.

But my feet are kicking and I get a few in on his shins, I’m sure.

“Put them into this room together,”

someone snaps, and we are pushed into a room.

The door slams closed behind us.

Pushing the hair out of my face, I look at Tia who is standing with her hands on her hips, gasping for breath and more than a little red in the face.

“Who the hell was that?”

Tia asks, and I shake my head that I do not know.

“So, what do we do now?”

I sit on the broken bed once more and shake my head.

“I don’t know, but we have to think of something.

You know this means Nico is going to want me to marry him, don’t you?”

“We need a plan,”

Tia states and I look at her with a ‘Really!’ look on my face, which seems to amuse her, right before she laughs.

“I bet they didn’t expect that fight.

The look on everyone’s faces was funny.

They didn’t know if they should grab us or not.”

Giggling along with her, because knowing we are at Nico’s, she isn’t wrong.

One wrong move toward the Don’s woman and they’d be in the basement.

This place has a basement I can’t help but think.

I don’t want to end up down there, so we need to get the heck out of here and make a run for it.

A knock on the door grabs both mine and Tia’s attention and we stand side-by-side ready for whatever is going to happen, or whoever is going to enter.

The woman I knocked over earlier slowly and timidly steps into the doorway, holding up a tray so we can see she has brought us something to eat and drink.

Now, before I can tell her we don’t want it, Tia dashes forward, grabs the tray and thanks the woman.

Who, I have to say in turn, quickly exits the room and closes the door.

With the bed being broken and all the furniture smashed, we sit with our backs to the wall and eat the food from the tray and drink the bottled water, too.

Sighing, I turn to look at Tia.

“I’m not sure how we are going to get away from here.

Guards are outside the door, and outside the windows, as they have a patrol going around the place.”

“Yeah, I noticed that too.

But if we can overpower those two outside the door, we may be able to sneak out.”

“Or we play nice, wait for them to relax, then make a run for it?”

I suggest.

When I see the wheels turning in Tia’s mind and the grin form on her face, I know she’s going to go for it.

Rubbing my hands together, I give Tia a huge smile as I hold my fist up for a bump, which she gives me returning my smile with one of her own.

Deal done, I’m thinking to myself.

Now we just have to implement it.
