Chapter 14

Nico

I’m rubbing my hands together in anticipation of what is going to happen today.

The guards on Elli’s door report it has been quiet throughout the night, and Yasmine reported the tray she retrieved was empty so we know they have eaten.

Or, they had thrown it down the toilet and are going hungry, whichever, they had the opportunity to eat.

This morning, they will both be brought down for breakfast, and while they are in the dining room new bedrooms will be allocated for them.

The two they have destroyed will be stripped and everything replaced.

Walking into the dining room I hold back the smirk that wants to cross my face as I study Elli and Tia sitting demurely at the dining table awaiting breakfast.

“Good morning, Elli, Tia.

I hope you both had a good night’s sleep?”

I ask and know full well they won’t have because they broke the bed.

Elli side-eyes Tia before responding, “Yes, thank you we both slept very well.”

Taking my seat at the head of the dining table, with Elli on my right and Tia next to her.

Bruno will be here in a moment, and he’ll take the seat on my left.

Anyone else that arrives for breakfast will sit wherever they like.

Yasmine walks into the dining room with two staff behind her, all carrying an array of breakfast items, placing them on the long table at the side of the room where everyone will help themselves.

Apart from me of course, I am always served, although I’d rather get it myself.

Yasmine from the start insisted she serve me herself.

“What would you like for breakfast?”

I ask, and give them both a smile.

“Yasmine will be happy to get it for you, or you can go get it yourself.”

While I’m speaking Yasmine places my breakfast in front of me, which is a bowl of oatmeal with honey drizzled over.

I have always loved oatmeal and Yasmine makes sure I have it at least once a week.

Without a word the two stand from the table and walk over to get themselves something to eat.

I eat my breakfast leaving my phone on one side, as I never answer or check my phone at the dining table.

I feel it’s the height of rudeness to the people who prepare the meal and the ones eating alongside you.

We all eat quietly, and I remain calm and quiet as I finish my breakfast before speaking to Elli and Tia.

“After you have eaten breakfast, Yasmine will bring you to my office.

We need to speak about what is going to happen from this point.”

Elli nods and Tia gives me a tiny smile before also nodding.

Bruno walks into the dining room, and states loudly, “Sorry, Boss, I was held up with some information that Aeron brought to my attention.

I’ll be in the office in a few minutes…”

Bruno stops in his stride and stares at Tia, who I have to say is staring right back at him.

“Well, hello little lady,”

he smoothly says.

I chuckle when she stands and walks up to him, walking around him, giving him a full look over, staring at his private area before stating for everyone to hear.

“Well, you are a big man, but are you a big man in all the right places?”

Before anyone can respond, because we are all in shock, Tia marches out of the dining room, with Elli jogging to catch up with her.

But we all smirk when we hear the tinkling laughter that flows behind them both.

Yasmine is running after them as she knows they are supposed to go to my office.

I make my way to my office ready for the conversation that is going to be had.

Taking the seat behind my desk, I smile as I remember the shocked look on Bruno’s face.

Tia won’t get away with being sassy next time as he’ll be ready.

But she stopped his flow this time.

It seems they are attracted to each other, and that gives me an idea.

One they both probably won’t like to start with at least.

A soft knock on the door right before it opens has me looking up whilst clasping my hands on the desktop.

I’m relaxed about this meeting even though they both may kick up a fuss.

Entering, Yasmine is followed inside by Elli and Tia.

“Have a seat, please,”

I offer and point to the two seats to the side of my desk.

I swivel my seat and settle back into it.

Yasmine leaves and closes the door quietly behind her.

“Your rooms are being remodeled thanks to your renovation techniques.”

I grin at them, which is letting them know that their antics have not annoyed me at all.

Before I can say more the door opens and Bruno, Aeron, and Tiny walk into the office and take seats, settling into them for however long this meeting is going to take.

Elli and Tia are keeping quiet for the time being.

It’s easy to see they have a strategy going on, and agreed upon.

I would love to laugh but it would be like slapping them, so I’ll keep my amusement to myself.

This is turning out to be such fun, and after all the dark we deal with in the firm it is a pleasant relief.

“So, let’s get down to it.

Elli, you are my betrothed, promised and agreed upon by your late father and mother.”

Seeing she is going to say something, probably argue, I hold my hand up in a hold-it motion.

“You cannot get out of this, Elli; your brother is happy also for this union to go ahead.

The engagement has been posted, and now that it is announced you have nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide that I won’t find you.”

Elli is grinding her teeth so badly I may have to get a dental appointment for her.

Tia is looking at Bruno with a glint of something in her eye, but I can see he’s doing his best to ignore her, for now at least.

Tiny is smirking and not hiding the fact he is finding this highly amusing.

Aeron, however, is sitting with a frown on his face, watching both the women closely.

“The marriage will take place in eight weeks; the venue is here as we’ll have it in the garden, rather than a ridiculous old miserable church saga,”

I state clearly.

“Yeah, because we’ve all heard and read the stories about the mafia boss making the woman marry him, and someone invades the church, guns blazing killing everyone in attendance,”

Tia drawls.

I smirk at her, Bruno laughs out loud, along with Tiny.

Aeron remains stoic, and Elli slaps Tia on the back of the head before giggling.

“Any questions?”

I ask.

Not a word has been uttered by Elli, which has me thinking her ploy to play nice must have started.

It is what I expected, and I’m finding this far more exciting than the small nods and sniffles that an upset Varina gave me on our first meeting.

Yeah, this is going to be much more fun!

Now, for the next step in my plan.

“Tia, it seems you have your eye on Bruno, and we all know that he is at the point he has to take a bride.

So, I figure we can have a double wedding.

You and Bruno, alongside myself and Elli.

How about that, Bruno?”

“Whatever, Boss, suits me.”

He is giving Tia a smoldering look as he replies to me, and she’s looking a little like a goldfish with her mouth opening and closing.

Elli is staring at me as though I’m from a different planet, but she’ll learn I don’t waste opportunities or hold back when I want something.

“Okay, that’s all good then.

I’ll get you all the information you need and you can make some choices.

But, if you don’t want to Elli, that’s fine, I can have a coordinator in to deal with everything.”

I flick my head at Tiny and he opens the door, shouts for two soldiers to watch over these two as they both shuffle out of the office.

As soon as the door closes we wait what we feel is a respectful amount of time before we all roar with laughter.

“You fucker, getting me engaged, too.

At least mine hasn’t run away, yet!”

We all laugh again knowing that the pair of them will make a run for it when they think we are not taking notice.

“Okay, Boss, what about the two that need dealing with?”

Aeron asks, obviously past the laughter at Elli and Tia’s expense.

“Let’s go deal with them.

Tiny, you come as well.”

I walk out of the office with the three of them behind me and head to the mausoleum and its basement.

Opening the basement door, I’m met with the pair of them no longer in their chains but tied to chairs which are both bolted to the floor directly over the large drain which is covered with a grill type of lid.

Both women have tape over their mouths so they can say nothing, but they are both whimpering and tears run down their cheeks.

They show the signs of the beatings they have taken.

I know that they were not easy to break, from what Tiny told me.

Sitting in the seat placed directly in front of them, I sigh before speaking.

“You both were involved in the shit Terizo was doing, neither of you came to me to report his misdeeds.

Instead, you both were complicit, but what is going to get you buried, most of all, is the shit you caused Varina.

You are evil bitches, in fact, you both are vile.

You both did unmentionable things to make Varina’s life miserable, and were even complicit with the accident she had, leading to her death.

For that alone you earned yourselves a death sentence, and I’m more than happy to carry that out and rid this world of the evil you both are.”

Now, they both fight against their restraints and are making a lot of noises behind their taped lips.

I turn to hold my hand out to Tiny for the weapon to take these two out when he scowls, lifts the weapon and shoots one after the other right between their eyes.

Shrugging at my expression, he hands the weapon to the soldier standing on one side ready for it to be melted down.

The bodies will be taken to the local crematorium where they will be burned and then thrown into the local river.

“Sorry, Boss, but I didn’t want you getting your hands dirty with this trash.”

Tiny walks out of the basement without another word.

Looking down at myself I’m happy to see I have no blood or other matter splattered upon me, so quickly leave the basement and head back to the mansion.

Later that day after keeping watch on the monitor of my laptop, which not surprisingly has the feed for the mansion’s cameras running.

I watch Elli and Tia as they show they are shocked, annoyed and then outright angry at the marriages.

But the plotting to get away amuses me highly.

It's obvious they have not realized they are seen and heard.

Alex arrives and grins, as he stands behind me watching his sister plotting with her friend.

“You’ll have to watch her, Boss.

She’s a slippery one, and I taught her well so she may be able to get away from you without you realizing."

"She's not aware she’s being watched as yet.

But I’m waiting for her reaction once she does notice.

I have to tell you she is going to make one magnificent wife and mother.

I can’t wait to get married, although it’s the one thing I always dreaded, until now.
