Chapter 2 The Demand
The crowd wore every kind of expression.
Everyone knew Gu Tingchuan and I had known each other for a hundred years.
Three years ago we became engaged.
We were waiting only for me to reach the Golden Core stage to become dao companions.
The disciples whispered.
“If Senior Sister Mingxi hadn’t abandoned little junior sister, this wouldn’t have happened.”
“Yeah. Karma.”
I scanned them without expression.
I had always helped them with their cultivation.
Several of them I had saved in the secret realm.
When my gaze passed over them, they fell silent.
Lin Yuan'er cried harder.
“If Senior Sister won’t grant her blessing, I don’t want to make things difficult for her.”
“But I’ve lost my purity. I have no face to keep living!”
She drew her sword and pressed it to her throat.
My Master panicked, disarmed her, and snapped at me.
“Mingxi, aren’t you going to admit your fault?”
I remained calm.
“What fault have I committed?”
Once my Master started, the others grew bolder.
A junior brother I had once saved stepped forward.
“Senior Sister Mingxi, little junior sister was poisoned because of you.”
“She’s so delicate, and now she’s ruined. Why make things harder for her?”
I tugged the corner of my mouth.
“So I should hand over my fiancé as compensation?”
“That’s not enough.”
My Master snorted and released his pressure.
Blood trickled from my lips.
“This seat now suspects you deliberately tried to harm a fellow disciple.”
“Such a vicious heart needs harsh punishment to remember the lesson.”
The surrounding disciples watched coldly, murmuring.
Before, when they blamed me, I told myself they simply didn’t understand.
But now my heart grew cold.
I lowered my eyes slowly.
“In that case, this disciple requests to go to Heishui Sect as an exchange student.”
Gasps rose around me.
Lin Yuan'er's eyes brightened.
