One Year Later
Eden stretched as the sun warmed her skin. Her eyes were closed behind her sunglasses and the scant bikini left little to the imagination.
“You’re staring,” she said, pursing her lips.
“I certainly am,” Randi replied with an appreciative lilt to her voice.
Eden opened her eyes and could see love and a hint of lust in Randi’s vibrant green eyes. At times Eden found it hard to tear her eyes away from Randi. Her beautiful hair, sparkling eyes, and that smile! She could stare all she wanted now. She reached out her hand. “You’re too far away.”
Randi grinned, pushed her lounger so it butted up next to Eden’s, and stretched out beside her. She grasped Eden’s hand between both of hers. “You are so beautiful.”
“Mmm.” Eden moaned and bent one knee to rub her foot up Randi’s leg. “Right back at you, love.”
Randi chuckled and kissed the back of Eden’s hand. “We’re finally on vacation and Analise paid for it!”
“We made her a lot of money last year,” Eden pointed out.
“Yeah, we did.” Randi smiled. “I think she tried to plan the perfect vacation for us based on that one game of Codenames.”
Eden could see the memories flashing across Randi’s face. “We took a train out here which was even better than I imagined.”
“Our sleeper compartments weren’t designed for two people,” Randi stated.
Eden chuckled. “When did we sleep?”
Randi smirked then laughed. “You were right there beside me.”
“Mmm, more like on top of you.”
Randi groaned. “Or under me.”
Eden playfully slapped her on the leg. “We’re terrible.”
“No, we’re not,” Randi said. “We’re happy, in love, and can’t get enough of each other.”
“This has been the best year of my life.”
“And they’re only going to get better,” Randi said.
“You don’t have to pitch me.” Eden chuckled and rolled onto her side, pulling their hands against her chest. “Did you imagine all the things that were set in motion when we did pitch a friend?”
“I wanted to find you a girlfriend,” Randi said, rolling on her side to face Eden. “I knew I couldn’t be the one, so I just wanted you to be happy.”
“All that time I was thinking that I wanted someone like you, when it was you I really wanted,” Eden said. “By the way, you found me a girlfriend and more.”
“We also made new friends,” Randi said.
“Yeah, Tennie has become such a good friend and now that Kelly isn’t traveling as much, it’s been fun connecting with her,” Eden said.
“Yeah, I like Kelly. That first date with her set us on a path to dancing which led to Billy Bob’s. I think dancing with you that night—well, I couldn’t push my feelings away any longer.”
Eden smiled then raised a brow. “You know, we’ve become friends with all the women I dated during that time, except for Gabi.”
Randi smirked. “You know why we’re not friends with Gabi.”
“Hands off Gabriela, Gabriela, hands off, Gabriela-la-la,” Eden sang.
“Ugh,” Randi groaned. “I can’t hear that song without thinking of you dancing with her.”
“Aw, babe.” Eden leaned over and kissed Randi on the lips. “Your hands are the only ones I want on me.”
“I don’t know if loving you or being loved by you is the best feeling in the world, but I’m the lucky woman who gets both,” Randi said.
“Aw, there you go saying something sweet,” Eden said.
“There’s nothing sweet about this kiss.”
Eden gasped when Randi’s lips claimed hers in a passionate kiss. “Mmm.” She smiled as they pulled away. “And then there was Vegas.”
“Oh my God! Vegas!” Randi exclaimed.
“It won’t be long until we’re out there again,” Eden said. She smiled at Randi and ran a finger down her cheek. “I don’t think anything can top last year.”
“We were definitely the stars of that amazing show.” Randi grinned.
She winked at her and Eden felt that familiar flutter in her chest. With a look, a glance, a touch, Randi could make Eden’s heart melt. “I think that’s why Analise insisted on paying for this vacation.”
“She owes us more than a vacation.”
Eden captured Randi’s lips in a kiss that quickly gathered heat.
“Mmm,” Randi murmured.
Eden smiled and could see Randi’s eyes darken. “You know, we found out things that happen in Vegas don’t always stay there.”
Randi chuckled. “Yeah, just ask Analise. Whatever will we get up to this year?”
“Mmm, I know what I want to do right now.” Eden moved over onto Randi’s lounger and their lips met in a kiss full of intention.
She felt Randi’s hand slip around her back and pull her closer.
It didn’t matter what this year or the next years brought their way.
They were counting on their love and living their happily ever after.
