Private Jet Romance
I have never been on a plane before. The closest I ever got to one was during my secondary school excursion. And now, I am, about to fly in a private jet.
Whichever angel is in charge of my life right now, you deserve an award.
"We are going to fly in it?" I asked, looking at him in disbelief. He nodded with a smile.
"Come on, Bunny, let's go," he said, leading me inside. I gasped as I took in the interior—it didn't look like a plane. It looked like a luxurious house. The seats were arranged facing each other with a table in between. I was so mesmerized by the sight before me that I didn't even acknowledge the air hostess's greeting.
"Are you done admiring? We need to sit down so the pilot can take off," he said, and I nodded. He helped me with my seatbelt since I had no idea how to fasten it, then took a seat opposite me.
"Can you sit beside me?" I asked. He smiled and obliged, moving next to me before intertwining our fingers after fastening his seatbelt.
"We are about to take off. Please fasten your seatbelt," the pilot's voice came through the speaker, though I couldn't see where it was coming from.
I leaned back as the jet began to move. I knew it was going much faster than it seemed, and I instinctively held onto him tighter. He chuckled. Not long after, I felt the sensation of being lifted as the jet took off. Surprisingly, I could hardly hear its engine. There was some turbulence, but nothing strong enough to make me jump.
"You can remove your seatbelts and move freely," the pilot announced.
Alfa unbuckled his belt and moved to sit opposite me again. I guess he really loved that seat.
"You no longer need to close your eyes to picture yourself flying, Bunny, because you're actually flying," he said, grinning as he had been all evening.
"When you say things like that in your husky voice, it sounds so romantic," I admitted, making him chuckle.
"Is this yours, or did you hire it?" I asked, knowing how expensive private jets were.
"It's mine. I bought it two years ago, along with a yacht," he said, then snapped his fingers. The air hostesses immediately moved to fulfill his unspoken request.
"You bought it together with a yacht?" I was beyond surprised. "How rich are you, really?" I asked, still struggling to see him as the wealthy CEO he was.
"Rich enough to never feel inferior anywhere in the world, even at a dinner party with English royalty," he stated, leaving me utterly speechless.
"Close your lips, Bunny, or a fly might enter," he teased, chuckling as a hostess brought a bottle of champagne and two glasses.
"Leave us," he ordered, and they exited, leaving us alone in the spacious cabin. Suddenly, I felt shy.
"Don't try acting nice. It doesn't suit you," he said, pouring the wine.
"Shut up! Can't a girl be shy?" I pouted.
He gave me a side glance and scoffed. "Whatever you do is cute," he said with a smile, handing me a glass. "Thanks for being here with me." He clinked his glass against mine before taking a sip.
I took a sip as well. It was unlike anything I had tasted before. The bubbles danced in my mouth, and though it had a slightly sour taste, I couldn't seem to get enough of it. The uniqueness was beautiful.
"No wonder the monk who made it said he was tasting the stars," I murmured, savoring the flavor. Alfa smiled.
"Can you please stand up?" he suddenly requested after a while.
I hesitated. Standing on a jet flying high in the sky? That was a definite no for me.
"We'll be arriving at Calabar Airport soon," he added. So that's where we were headed. I always felt safe with him, so I never really bothered about our destination as long as we were together.
So because of the trust I have for him, I stood up, and he gently nudged me to stand in the center of the jet with him. Every time he touched me, I felt sparks.
"I want to invade your every thought. I want to make you forget every guy you've ever known. I want you to think of me when you recall your first kiss or first boyfriend.
I know I'm not your first, but I want to make you forget what your first felt like and only remember me," he said, his gaze intense. My body trembled.
"That's a difficult thing to ask," I muttered, though in truth, I couldn't even remember my first boyfriend's name at that moment. His stare held me captive.
"We are about 33,000 feet high, and here, I am going to break the record for the best kiss," he declared.
I could already hear the sound of my heartbeat in my ears. "How?" I whispered.
Before I could finish my sentence, his lips were on mine. My grip on his shoulders tightened as I clung to him for dear life. My legs turned to jelly, and he held me tighter, sensing that I might collapse. He deepened the kiss, and I melted completely into his embrace.
He was right. He had the power to erase every memory of anyone before him. He was truly an Alpha male.
People always say something or someone makes them feel like they're on top of the world. I doubted any of them had felt what I was feeling now. Because right now, I was 33,000 feet up in the sky, on a very expensive jet, kissing the best man ever created.
I was literally on top of the world.
"So this is what being on top of the world feels like," he murmured, echoing my thoughts.
I was too breathless to speak. He always seemed to know exactly what I was thinking, making it feel like he had invaded my mind.
"You don't just take a girl from her house, give her a ride in the most expensive car, make her fly a private jet for the first time, and then kiss the hell out of her while we're this high in the sky!" I exclaimed, still trying to catch my breath. "There's only so much a girl can handle in one night."
My heart was threatening to burst from my ribs, and I could hardly keep calm. He took my hand and placed it on his chest. His heartbeat was in sync with mine.
"I am just as mesmerized as you are, even though I planned it all," he admitted with a smile.
"I can't seem to get enough of you," I whispered.
"I..." He was about to say something when I shut him up with a kiss.
It was my turn to surprise him. He had taken the lead before, but now, it was my time.
Whichever angel is in charge of my life right now, please don't get tired and hand me over to another angel—you are simply the best.
