Chapter 43

The Interruption

Jack

“I’m going out,” I yell and grab my car keys off the rack.

“Jack.” My dad’s voice stops me.

“Yeah?” Fuck, I have Harper all to myself for minutes and I want to get there before Luke thinks to head over. Not sure where the others are, but they can miss out. I’m not planning on fucking her, but we can definitely get each other off a few times.

My dad walks across the kitchen toward me. It’s obvious where my genes come from. His dark hair has flecks of gray in it now, and he wears glasses over his blue eyes. He usually has an easy smile on his lips, but his lips are pressed thin today.

“Something wrong?” I clutch my keys tight. He’s been good about letting me do my own thing lately, but I know he worries.

“Are you going somewhere?” His gaze drops to my hand holding the keys. Dad is a stay-at-home dad. He takes care of me and my eight-year-old oops sister, while Mom works long hours as a doctor. “You’ve been out almost all weekend.”

Before I can answer, the little terror races into the room at full tilt.

“Jacky!” Lucy runs into the kitchen dressed in a princess gown. A crown sits lopsided on her dark curls. She slides across the floor on her socks. “Catch me!”

I drop my keys on the counter and catch her before she careens into my legs. Smiling, I lift her and toss her slightly in the air. This was easier when she was a few years younger, but she’s still a little thing.

She giggles the whole time. When I set her on her feet, she puts her fists on her non-existent hips and pouts up at me. “Are you going to be my prince? Or what?”

Dad shakes his head. “She’s been waiting for you to play with her all weekend.”

Well, fuck. I rub the back of my neck, thinking of the other girl I planned to play with. But Lucy’s been having a tough time in school. Some girls are picking on her, and I can’t do a damn thing about it.

Her big blue eyes blink up at me. I give Lucy a smile, knowing I’ll be caving to her demands. “Of course, but you need to find my horse first. I can’t be a prince if I don’t have my horse.”

Her eyes twinkle when she smiles. She rises up on her tiptoes and squeals. “I know where he is.”

She takes off to find her stuffed horse. She’ll be a heartbreaker when she’s grown. I need to make sure the little shits in her grade know I’ll tear them to pieces if they try anything with her.

“Thank you.” Dad sits at the kitchen table. “I know you’ve got places you’d rather be—”

“It’s okay, Dad. Lucy is important.” I pull out my phone and see the texts Harper sent in a panic. Dammit. I blow out a breath.

Me:

Sorry sweetheart, something came up. Rain check?

“You’ve been busy lately,” Dad hedges. “You seeing someone new?”

I lower into the chair across from him. “Kind of.”

My situation has never been a typical one. When I came out to my parents as bi, they were supportive. But Dad always seems confused. Like he thought Caden and I were a couple for a while which, while hilarious, makes me wonder if he’ll ever get it.

There’s this assumption that because I’m attracted to both sexes, if I date one I’ll be unfulfilled or something. Pretty sure when I find the right person, they’ll be it for me. Even if I have to share her. I glance at my phone to see if Harper texted back.

“That’s good.” He blows out a breath. “We’d appreciate it if you let us know when you won’t be home at night. Just so Lucy won’t expect her good night kiss.”

Ouch, that was a punch to the heart. “I usually text when I’m out.”

“And we appreciate that.” Dad struggles to find something to say.

“I found him! I found him!” Lucy comes racing into the kitchen waving a stuffed horse. “Come be my prince, Jacky! We need to save the dragon.”

I grin. “Don’t you mean slay the dragon?”

“Why would we kill the dragon? He’s a nice guy. He has a cold and when he sneezes, fire goes everywhere. So the villagers are ready to hurt him, but we’ll save him.”

I shake my head and glance at Dad. “We good?”

“Yeah, go play with your sister.”

Harper

Luke raises an eyebrow when my mouth opens and closes like a fish.

“Harper.” My name on his lips does something I can’t quite describe to the piece of me that’s so fucking attracted to Luke.

My phone finally dings.

At Jack’s text, I breathe out a sigh. Luke still watches me.

“He’s not coming over.” I wave my hand at Luke. “You can go back to whatever you were doing. I’ve got to read my history assignment still.”

“Me too.”

What? My mouth drops open, and I narrow my eyes at Luke. “You said you finished.”

That bastard. He smirks.

“It’s mostly done.” He shrugs and leans back in his chair. “I got the gist of it.”

A drip falls from his hair onto his shoulder and trails down his chest. My mouth goes dry. I rub my hands on my thighs.

“You cheated.” I sit back in my chair and shake my head. “You owe me.”

“What do I owe you, princess?” Luke’s dark voice flows down my spine.

I arch my eyebrow as I consider. I’m not about to spank Luke Foster like he would me. No need to encourage that behavior.

If I had won, he would have had to go down on me in the bathroom, not the other way around. I would have preferred to not do anything in the bathroom. Heat flushes through me at what we did in there, and Jack did go down on me at the same time.

“Come on, Harper.” He licks his lips. “You know what you should ask for. Just say it. Tell me what you want me to do to you.”

I narrow my eyes before I shake my head. “I need to think it over.”

“Coward,” he mutters and stands. His towel stays around his hips as he walks off screen. Now all the screens are empty. I stare at those empty rooms.

What happens now? Do I let them use me whenever they say so, or do I take control of what I want? I want them, so it doesn’t make sense to deny what I want. But I don’t know what will happen at school.

Will I have a choice, or will they drag me to a closet and fuck me? A shiver goes through me. Maybe I’ll be the one doing the dragging.

I open my history book and stare at the words on the page. This whole weekend plays on repeat in my mind. Spin the bottle. The parties. This morning. Taking my pleasure from them.

I have to go to school with all this new baggage like it doesn’t matter. Like two guys didn’t finger fuck me in the middle of a dance floor at the party. Like I didn’t disappear with two other guys. Like I didn’t take all of them inside me.

Am I supposed to like it? Am I supposed to be coy and pretend it didn’t happen?

What if one of them loses interest? It’s not like I can be equal about everything. I’d never have time to myself.

There are plenty of girls willing to pick up my slack. And what happens if the guys stray? Is it over? Just with that guy or with all of them?

“You okay, kitten?” Eli’s voice makes me jump.

“I forgot that was on.” I hold my hand over my thundering heart.

He smiles. “You get this wrinkle between your eyebrows when you process things.”

“I do not.” I rub between my eyebrows and frown.

Eli chuckles. “You do, kitten. So what’s on your mind?”

“The unknown.” I sigh. I can try to plan for any number of things, but in reality, I just have to take things as they come.

“Deep.” Eli nods. “Not that I don’t enjoy finding you in my bedroom, but why are you on?”

Heat fills my cheeks. “I accidentally took Jack’s homework, and he asked me to get on webcam.

Then it seemed like he was going to come over, but he didn’t.

And Luke said he lied about finishing his homework so he should have gone down on me and not the other way around.

And I don’t know why I’m still talking.”

I snap my lips closed and shake my head.

“Where are Luke and Jack?” Eli glances at the other empty screens.

I shrug. “Jack said something came up. Luke just finished a shower and went off some direction.”

Eli gives an acknowledgment of my statement and picks up his pen.

“How are you after today?” Eli slides his pen through his fingers.

“Honestly a little sore, but fine.” I touch my warm cheeks. The sun has set outside, and darkness presses against my windows. I haven’t been alone all that much since the horsemen took ownership of me. “Can I ask you a question, Eli?”

“Sure, but I can always refuse to answer it.” He tips back a little in his chair. His dark eyes are focused on me.

“That’s fair.” I almost bite my lip, but stop myself. “What are the expectations now?”

Eli leans his elbows on the desk and cocks an eyebrow. “Expectations?”

“We’ve done what you guys set out to do.” I gesture vaguely in the air. Heat swamps my cheeks. “So now what?”

Eli grins. “We didn’t just want a taste. We own you, kitten. As to expectations, I’m sure we all have different needs.”

I cross my legs, thinking about their needs. About my needs.

“We’ll get more time with you alone, but still do things together.” Eli draws his fingers across his lips. “I won’t lie. We’re going to want to fuck you. A lot. We all have different desires.”

“What do you like?” My mind goes to the chair, being restrained and used for their desire. What he said to me about needing to remember my safe word with him. Right before Luke held me down for Eli to fuck.

“We’ll always talk before we play, but you’ve experienced some of how I like to play. Tying you down. Using you. Punishing you. We’ll get a little rough occasionally.” Eli leans in. “We’ll start slow, kitten.”

I cross my legs against the ache Jack promised to ease. It’s back with a vengeance.

“You curious, kitten?”

“A little,” I breathe out.

A knock sounds on my door.

Eli straightens. “Expecting someone?”

“No.” I hesitate, and the knock comes again. I glance at the other screens, but no one else is in their room. Luke didn’t say he was coming over, and if he did, he probably wouldn’t knock. He’d just appear.

“Kitten?” Eli says as I stand.

“Yeah?” I brush my hair behind my ear.

“Point me at the door.”

For a second, I watch him, trying to decipher his meaning, but then I turn the laptop so the camera faces the door.

Taking a deep breath in, I cross the room. This isn’t the frantic knocks from that night. I turn on the porch light and glance out the window. My breath releases.

Caden stands there.

I open the door. “What are you doing here?”

He smiles and backs me into the house before shutting the door behind him. “I forgot to give you my jersey to wear tomorrow.”

He holds out a folded football jersey.

“Oh.” I take it and hold it up. The number thirty-four is on both sides, and Ross is on the back across the shoulders. “I guess I’m yours tomorrow.”

“You’re always mine, little nympho.” Caden grins and looks around the room before grabbing my hips. His green eyes focus on me. Sparks race along my skin. He nods at the laptop. “I didn’t know we were supposed to meet tonight.”

“We weren’t planning on it,” Eli says.

“Where’s your mom, little nympho?” Caden draws my hips against his. I gasp at his hard cock against my stomach. My insides soften and heat as my panties grow wetter.

“Work.” My voice comes out a little breathless, and Caden’s smile widens.

He crowds me back to the table. “And MacKenzie?”

I shake my head. “How did you decide whose jersey I wore first?”

“We let fate decide.” He leans over me and shuts the laptop on Eli.

“Whoops.” His hand goes to the back of my neck. “So you’re saying we’re all alone?”

“Caden.” I put my hand against his chest, I think to stop him. Instead, I curl it into his shirt.

His smile widens as he lowers his head. Hovering over my lips, his lips brush mine, making fire pour through my veins. His breath is hot against my lips. I can almost taste the cinnamon.

Fuck it.

I surrender. I push up on my toes and pull him down by his shirt until our lips collide.
