Chapter 60 The Standoff
The Standoff
Harper
Caden rolls over on top of me, holding his weight on his arms. “Of course I’ll be Santa, little nympho. And I’ll definitely remember to kiss mommy. We can practice until we get it right.”
He lowers his head to capture my lips. My brain cells fry as he deepens the kiss like he’s in no hurry.
This isn’t his all-consuming kiss. His hand cradles my head as his tongue strokes into my mouth, tasting, testing, exploring.
Time loses all meaning as he doesn’t make any moves to do more than kiss me.
It’s an odd feeling. Except for that first week, I haven’t made out with someone without the expectation it would lead to more. Caden’s lips are soft but firm against mine. He tastes like minty toothpaste and something just him.
I’m not happy with him only hovering over me, not touching me. I want to feel his body against mine, so I wrap my legs around him to bring him down. Instead, he wraps his arms around me and rolls to his back, so I’m on top of him. He holds the back of my head while he continues to kiss me.
I relax on top of him and let my legs fall to either side of his body. The heat builds within me, but I like that we’re just focused on making out. He isn’t pressing for more, and neither do I.
Vaguely, I register Luke moving around the room. When the bed dips beside us, I open my eyes and pull away. Caden’s eyes are deep green. His lips are swollen from our kiss. Mine feel swollen as well.
Luke sits beside us on the bed reading a book.
“You done with your homework?” Caden turns his head toward Luke.
“Yeah.” Luke sets his book on the nightstand, next to his open computer with his webcam focused on all of us.
I rest my head on Caden’s chest as I watch Eli reading a book, Nico working on homework, and Jack doing something on his other screen. It’s nice they’re all here. When I release a little sigh, Caden chuckles and rubs my back.
It’s so easy to fall into his dream life. A future with all of them in it. But that’s all it is. A dream.
We’re fucking, but they don’t love me. Nico wants this to be more. Caden might want more too. But all of them? That would be ridiculous. Even just having two boyfriends would probably make my mother lock me in my bedroom until I come to my senses.
My gaze goes to Luke, who’s watching me with those shrewd, pale blue eyes.
“Did you want to make out with me too, princess?” He gives me a cocky smile.
I try to keep from smiling, but he can see my lips twitching. I climb off Caden and crawl up on Luke’s lap, straddling his hips. That’s about as far as my bravado takes me.
Luke shakes his head as he lifts one of my braids. “Such an innocent little girl.”
I raise an eyebrow. “Not so innocent anymore.”
“Too shy to kiss me?” Luke’s eyes challenge me.
“Nah, my little nympho isn’t shy. You’re just intimidating.” Caden slides his hand over my backside, making heat curl inside me.
Luke smirks as his gaze falls to my lips. “Am I intimidating, princess?”
My eyes narrow. Hell yes, he’s intimidating. But I know he wants me to kiss him, and that helps.
My hands rest on his shoulders as I lean in until our lips are almost touching. I hold his gaze.
“You can be very intimidating, Death,” I whisper against his lips before pressing forward, locking our lips together.
His hands grab my ass and haul me into him. I hiss at the sting from my spanking earlier.
“Dammit, Eli.” Luke breaks off our kiss to turn to scold Eli. Fuck that.
I grab his face and bring it back to my lips, opening my mouth over his until he parts his lips. This time I’m the aggressor, but Luke could never be passive. He moves his hands up to my back as we explore each other’s mouths. When he grows hard beneath me, a burst of desire flows through me.
Just like with Caden, we make out. Not even any heavy petting. But by the time Luke pulls away, I’m more of a horny mess than before.
“Time for bed, princess.” Luke kisses me again before setting me between him and Caden on the bed. Finally. I’m practically soaked over here from the kisses. He turns out the light and pulls the covers over me. Then he lies down.
Oh, he means we’re actually going to sleep. Caden gives me a quick kiss good night. Huh. I blow out a breath.
Rolling toward Luke, I throw my leg over his before snuggling my head against his bare chest. He releases a breath before his arm wraps around me, drawing me tight against him.
My heart skips a beat, but I ignore it. This is about sex and that’s all.
Nico
Low moans wake me in the morning. I turn to my computer screen and watch as Caden pulls down Harper’s sleep shorts and pushes her legs open before he feasts on her. Fuck.
I can’t tear my eyes away as Luke lifts off her top and sucks her nipple into his mouth. I’m not the only one awake. Jack does what he does best in his tiny window, and Eli watches with that thoughtful expression like he’s not hard as a rock.
Harper’s face turns to the laptop with her lips parted. Her dark eyes open, and for a second it feels like she’s looking right at me. But it’s impossible to tell with the webcam.
Her breath pants in and out as they both work her delicious, writhing body. It’s impossible not to feel envious of their ability to be with our girl. To sleep with her wrapped around them and wake up to the taste of her on their lips.
“Nico! You need to wake up!” my mom shouts from downstairs.
Fucking hell! Seriously, she worries too much.
I hit mute on my computer before yelling back, “I’m up.”
I’ll need a long shower with how up our girl has me. I unmute my computer as Harper comes. A low moan on her lips. Her body arching against theirs. Fuck. I’ve got to figure out a way to sneak out or sneak her in.
“See you at school.” Luke closes his laptop.
Yeah, but today all bets are off. Today she wears my jersey, and she’s adjusting fine if last night is anything to go by.
I take a little too long in the shower, jerking off to the memory of her lips around my cock and the image of her coming this morning.
When I make it downstairs, Mom yells from the kitchen, “Come get breakfast.”
“No time.” I’ll miss Harper’s entrance, which seriously is the highlight of my day. Getting to kiss her first thing in the morning when we wake up together would be better. Eli plans to sneak her into his room, but could I do the same?
Eli might have an easier time of it. His parents aren’t worried about his transition into a new school during senior year. The attention should die down after this week. Hopefully.
“Nico, come get something to take with you then. You can’t go to your second day of school hungry.”
I roll my eyes and head into the kitchen. My blond-haired, blue-eyed mother scans me up and down before holding out a wrapped breakfast sandwich. To say I take after my father is an understatement. Though my skin isn’t nearly as dark as his.
Mom shakes the sandwich impatiently. “If you have to go, take this. You need all the energy you can get to keep up with the other boys.”
She doesn’t know the half of it. I cross the kitchen and take the sandwich.
“Thanks, Mom.” I kiss her cheek.
She blushes and pats my shoulder. “Off to school. Don’t want to be late.”
“I might hang out with friends after practice.” I turn the sandwich over in my hands. “Grab something to eat with them.”
“Oh.” She plays with her necklace, and her disappointment is clear before she forces a smile. “Of course, you need to make friends, but you spent all weekend out. It’s a weeknight, and you have to get your homework done.”
I give her a cocky smile. “I always get my homework done, Mom. It’s important to reestablish bonds with my friends.”
She frowns and glances at the recipe book she has open on the kitchen island. “I wanted to make your favorite.” She brightens. “Why don’t you invite your friends over here for dinner? The lasagna would feed an army. Your dad works late tonight, so it’d be fun to meet your friends.”
I hesitate, and the smile slips from her face. Disappointing my mom is a hard pass usually. It’s hard to remember she’s just moved back to this town herself, and Dad has been working a lot. He tries to be home for dinners, but apparently not tonight.
“Fine. I’ll ask.”
Practically buzzing with excitement, she grins and goes to the cookbook. “Oh, I’ll need to get out the nicer dishes.”
I shake my head. I doubt the horsemen will think anything about ordinary dishes, but again I don’t want to disappoint her. Seeing her smile makes me happy. The past few years have been rough on her. That was the point of moving back here. Dad would work less and have more time for Mom.
“Warning, whatever you think is enough, make double. I’m bringing five teenagers home with me.” If I can convince them to come. Of course, the only one I really have to convince is Harper, and the others will follow.
“Five?” Her fingers worry her necklace again.
“The guys and Harper.”
Mom’s smile is huge and knowing. “Harper? Your little girlfriend from elementary school?”
“She was my best friend, not my girlfriend, Mom.” It pops out of my mouth from habit. Now, I don’t know what to call her. But fuck it, I have every right to claim her. She’s mine. “But she may be my girlfriend now.”
Mom makes an aw face.
I wave her off and back out the door. “Gotta go. Thanks for the sandwich, and see you tonight.”
“Love you, Nico.”
The door shuts before I can say it back. I hope I can convince everyone to come for dinner. I get in my car and head to school. Parking next to Eli’s car, I get out and grab my backpack.
“Hi, Nico.” Angela Harris stands on the curb, waiting. Her blond hair glints in the sunlight. She’s got just as much makeup on as yesterday and shows even more cleavage. Her skirt might be even shorter. What is with the girls at this school?
“Angela.” I glance toward the school sign and see Jack and Eli talking near it. As I try to walk past her, she falls in step with me.
