Chapter Three #3

I changed into coral sleep shorts and a soft white ribbed tank. I washed away the sunscreen and humidity, then stared at myself in the mirror.

My hair hung loose around my face. Freckles covered my nose, shoulders, and the upper curve of my breasts. I wasn’t wearing gear, shoes, or anything that marked me as Sunbreak Security.

I opened the bathroom door.

Shane had removed his T-shirt.

Of course he had.

He stood beside the bed in gray lounge shorts, bare feet planted on the rug. His deep tan made the white sheets brighter behind him. Defined muscle cut across his chest and abdomen, but the familiar grin didn’t appear.

He waited.

My bare feet sank into the rug as I crossed to him.

“You changed your mind about the shirt,” I said.

“It wasn’t helping.”

“That was private information.”

“I read the report in your face.”

I stopped within reach.

Shane lifted one hand, then paused before touching me. “May I?”

“Yes.”

His fingers slid into my hair near my temple. He traced the strands down to my collarbone.

“I’ve been wondering what this looked like down.”

“You’ve had more urgent concerns.”

“I can have several concerns at once.”

“I’ve noticed.”

His thumb brushed the freckles near my collarbone.

My breath caught.

Shane’s gaze returned to mine. “Are you sure?”

I put both hands against his chest.

“Yes.”

Then I kissed him.

His lips parted beneath mine with a sound that went straight through me. I pushed him back one step, and Shane followed my direction without resistance. His palms settled at my waist, firm but waiting.

I kissed him harder.

He tasted faintly of lime and electrolyte drink. His lips moved with the same control I’d watched onstage, but the restraint lasted only until I caught his lower lip between my teeth.

“Cassidy,” he breathed.

“That’s my name.”

“I’m making sure I can still say it.”

I slid my fingers into his hair. He bent enough for me to control the kiss without stretching. When his palms moved beneath the hem of my tank, he stopped at my bare waist.

“Tell me what you want.”

“Take it off.”

Shane lifted the tank over my head and dropped it beside the bed.

His gaze moved across my breasts.

I resisted the urge to cover myself.

“You can touch me,” I said.

“I’m trying to decide where to start.”

“You’ve been staring at my shoulders for two days.”

“I’ve been trying not to stare.”

“That effort was also unsuccessful.”

He bent and pressed his lips to one freckled shoulder.

The first sweep of his tongue sent a shiver through me.

“Shane.”

“I’m starting here.”

His lips traveled toward my neck. He kissed the pulse beneath my jaw, then moved across my collarbone while his palms followed the curve of my waist.

I tugged his hair until he raised his head.

“Bed.”

His eyes darkened. “You make that sound extremely good.”

“I’m not wearing an earpiece now.”

“That makes it better.”

I pushed him onto the mattress.

Shane landed on his back, laughing once before I climbed over him. His erection pressed against the thin fabric of his shorts, hard beneath my thigh.

The laughter disappeared.

I kissed him while his palms moved over my back, hips, and thighs. I rocked against him until he groaned against my lips.

His fingers hooked beneath the waistband of my shorts.

“May I take these off?”

“Yes.”

I lifted my hips. Shane pushed the coral fabric down my legs, then rolled me beneath him before I could settle again.

He kissed my stomach, then the inside of one thigh.

The first brush of his lips stopped just short of where I wanted it.

“Teasing your bodyguard seems unwise,” I said.

“You’re off duty.”

“That doesn’t make me harmless.”

“Thank God.”

He spread my thighs and lowered his mouth to my wet pussy.

I pressed my head into the pillow.

Shane licked slowly from my opening to my clit, then repeated the motion while I fought to keep my hips still. He hooked one arm beneath my thigh and held me open without pinning me.

“More,” I said.

His tongue circled my clit.

I gripped the sheets. “Don’t slow down.”

He didn’t.

The pressure built quickly after two days of wanting him and several hours of pretending I could contain it. Shane slid two fingers inside me, curling them as his mouth stayed on my clit.

I gasped his name.

His free hand found mine on the sheet. I locked our fingers together.

“Come for me, Cassidy.”

I pushed against his mouth.

The orgasm built through my abdomen and broke hard enough to pull a cry from me. Shane kept licking through every contraction until my thighs shook around him.

Then he eased back and kissed the inside of my leg.

I stared at the ceiling, breathing hard.

“That was very smug work,” I said.

Shane lifted his head. His mouth glistened.

“I’m willing to accept criticism.”

“I haven’t decided whether you earned any.”

He smiled. “Take your time.”

I sat up and pushed him onto his back.

His eyebrows rose.

“I’ve decided.”

I pulled his shorts down.

His cock sprang free, thick and hard against his abdomen.

Shane studied my face. “Still reviewing?”

“I’m adjusting the scope.”

His laugh broke into a groan when I wrapped my fingers around him.

I stroked from base to tip, learning the weight and shape of him. A bead of pre-cum gathered at the head. I licked it away.

His hips lifted.

“Hold still,” I said.

He dropped back to the mattress, chest rising sharply.

I took him into my mouth.

Shane clutched the sheets. His other palm settled lightly against the back of my head without pushing. I worked him deeper, using my tongue around the head before drawing back.

“Cassidy, that feels—”

I took him down again.

His sentence dissolved into a rough sound.

I wanted every bit of his control affected by me. I wanted the man who knew how to command a stage to lose the next beat because my mouth was around his cock.

Shane’s thighs tensed beneath my touch.

“If you keep doing that, I’m going to come.”

I released him with a soft pop.

“Not yet.”

His eyes opened. “That was cruel.”

“You’ll recover.”

“I’m not sure I want to.”

I climbed over him and settled my knees on either side of his hips.

Before I lowered myself, I stopped.

“I have an IUD.”

Shane’s palms rested on my thighs. “All right.”

“I tested negative for STIs three months ago. I haven’t been with anyone since.”
