Chapter 10 #3
My cock pressed impossibly hard against the zipper of my jeans, but I didn’t care about me or my needs.
It felt as if an entire lifetime had passed since I’d seen her like this, lying underneath me in all her natural beauty, looking up at me with lust-filled eyes like I’d hung the moon.
The way her eyes pierced mine with such admiration and trust was all the reason I needed to protect and love her, and the reminder to never take a second of our time together for granted.
Like a moth to a flame, I wasted no time burying my face between her legs, licking the length of her from one end to the other.
Her sweetness was the balm to my soul, as I lavished her with my tongue.
The slight tension I felt seconds ago in her thigh muscles melted under my touch as she lifted her hips and began grinding her core into my face.
I looked up to see her fisting the bedsheets with parted lips, while long, drawn-out bursts of air filled the space.
“Jaxon, I—”
“Tell me, Lily-Bee, tell me what you need, and I’ll give it to you, always.”
“More, I need more.” She was breathless with abandon, and I fucking loved it.
I loved her.
As I grinned against her clit, my breath ghosted playfully over the hardened nub, eliciting a delicious shiver to run the length of her spine.
Her breathing changed the moment I sealed my lips over her clit and scissored my teeth around its edges.
Spurred on by her ravenous responsiveness, I slipped one finger inside her wet heat for a few strokes before adding another, arching them upward to rub the pads of my fingertips across the rough patch of skin, the very spot that I knew would light her up like a stick of dynamite.
I knew she was close as her walls started squeezing my fingers.
In the past, I’d been known to experiment with drawing out her orgasms, but right now, I was a dying man, needing her to detonate so I could drown myself in her essence.
Shifting my weight slightly, I lifted my chin to take in her rushed breaths and frenzied rise and fall of her breasts as I pressed my hand just over her mound and pistoned my fingers in and out of her heat while eagerly circling her clit with my thumb.
“Jaxon, please.”
Her breathless moans had always been my undoing.
I got off on her pleasure, and now was no different.
I loved hearing her beg just as much as I loved watching her as she tipped over the edge, fully and so completely overcome with the electric feeling of ecstasy that burst through her as she orgasmed.
“Oh, God . . . Jaxon.” Her words were raw and heady as she fell over the edge into rapture.
I was desperate for everything she gave me.
As if she had the same desire, her fingers tangled in my hair and gave me a slight pull.
I followed her prompt and surged up over her torso, swallowing down her moans of pleasure as I captured her mouth with mine while she continued riding the wave of bliss on my fingers.
But when she slid a hand around my back and hiked her leg over my hipbone, I was done for.
Hopelessly and utterly gone for my girl.
Our tongues sparred with rushed, desperate strokes, ignited by a blaze of unparalleled need after ten years of pent-up lust and yearning.
I was impossibly hard and aching for release that didn’t involve my hand.
But while this hadn’t been part of my plan for tonight, she’d lit the fuse, and there was no un-striking the match now.
I pulled my hand from between her legs and made a show of deliberately sucking one of the digits off slowly, savoring the sweet tang of her orgasm on my tongue before lowering my hand in offer.
With our eyes locked in hooded lust, she grabbed me by the wrist and sucked my other finger coated in her release between her soft, luscious lips.
The contact had me coming in my jeans without a care in the world because nothing had ever felt more intimate and so powerful before.
Collapsing beside her, I brushed a few errant strands of hair off her forehead and cupped the side of her cheek.
“You’re incredible.” I kissed her softly.
“I could say the same about you, handsome. I’ve missed that.” Her lips parted with a gasp. “With you,” she quickly added.
I reached for the throw blanket at the bottom of the bed and covered us, all the while summoning the courage to say what I knew wouldn’t be easy.
“Even though it hurts like hell to think about you ever being with someone else, I’d be a fool to think that wasn’t the case.
” I swallowed roughly. The bitter regret from my past tasted like acid on my tongue.
“There was a period of time when I thought the worst had happened, that you’d died.
” My voice hitched. “I drank, partied, tried losing myself in random other women—eventually I gave it all up, because I knew I’d found my person and there was no replacing you ever.
You’re so deeply embedded in my soul, Lily, that it never once came alive for anyone else. ”
A somber expression blanketed her, and I wanted to kick myself, but there would never be a good time for this conversation. I knew we needed to have it; it was part of our story.
“There was only ever one guy.” She breathed with a heavy sigh. “He wasn’t like you.” She ran her fingers along my cheek, her thumb grazing my bottom lip. “He never made me feel a fraction of what I feel for you, and he most definitely was never as generous a partner as you.”
That admission made me want to puff my chest out with pride, but also beat the ever-loving-shit out of the guy for not treating her the way she deserved. Then again, if he had, we wouldn’t be here right now.
While I couldn’t right the wrongs of our past, I’d be damned sure to make up for every second we’d lost by loving her fiercely and holding her tighter.
“I’m grateful he’s in your past because you’ve always been mine.”
“Likewise, Jaxon.” Her eyes began to tear up. “Promise me you’ll always feel that way.”
Her words struck me with oddity. It wasn’t just an underlying fear that prickled the hairs on the back of my neck; it was a genuine fear for reasons I didn’t understand.
Reaching for her hand, I placed it in the center of my chest, knowing she had to feel the feverish beat of my heart under her palm. “You’re mine in every life, Lily—Every. Single. One—Please don’t ever doubt that.”
“I feel like this is all a dream.”
“Nah, this is our second chance. My tattoo is visual proof I’ve always carried a part of you with me and my heart—”
Her eyes dropped to my chest, and with a surprised inhale, I knew the moment she saw it.
The little bee I had tattooed amongst the lilies with its stinger shaded in a way that looked like it was piercing the skin over my heart.
I shifted my weight and leaned down over her, holding her eyes captive with my truth. “It’s only ever belonged to you.”
