Chapter 1 The Wine Mix-Up

His words left the private room in total silence.

I stared at the gun. He stared at the wine. We both clenched our jaws.

After more than ten seconds, he forced out a sentence through gritted teeth.

"This is your good stuff?!"

I felt terrified and wronged.

"Of course it is!"

This was 1982 Lafite! He should check the price.

His handsome face looked ferocious.

"Stop fooling me! What does this wine have to do with strong or mild?!"

I felt even more wronged.

"Officer, have you never had alcohol?"

If smoking and drinking had no kick, then what did!

"Otherwise, try it!"

I carefully pushed the wine toward him.

"I'm not lying, Officer. One sip and you'll know!"

"Be honest!"

He took a deep breath.

"I ask. You answer. No extra words beyond that!"

I nodded obediently.

He stared at me.

"Name, occupation, purpose for being here. Tell me everything!"

I pouted.

"Lu Xiaoning, a recent university graduate. I came to order a Male Model for some fun... Officer, I'm just an ordinary person. I just visit bars a little more often than most. I'm really not a criminal!"

"Really..."

The Male Model narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Since you're a regular here, do you know if, besides smoking and drinking, this bar has any prohibited items? The strong kind that gets people hooked?"

I thought for two seconds and sucked in a cold breath.

To tell the truth,

there really were some.
