Chapter Nine Savage

For years, I dreamed about what it would be like to face the man that abandoned me all my life.

The man that left my momma to figure shit out on her own.

The pussy ass nigga that took the easy way out.

It was so many things I thought that I would say.

So many things that I thought I would do.

But the moment that I came face-to-face with him all I could do was stare.

Questioning in my head how he could do me this way?

Why would you abandon me? What about me made me unworthy of your love?

All the answers that I’ll never get. That shit fucked with me so bad.

Since that day, I didn’t know if I was going or coming.

Meeting Gianni was almost like a blessing and a curse.

A blessing because I may not have ever gotten to see the man’s face at all.

The curse came in because had I not showed up to the funeral, me and Trill would’ve never started shooting at one another.

For the life of me I can’t understand why me and this nigga keep ending up at the same place.

Knowing that every time we were in one another’s proximity, trouble is near.

The beef with Dre and Ice about Londyn was the icing on the cake.

So now every time they see one another is up and it’s stuck.

Their beef being all about a bitch its crazy motherfuckin work.

I don’t know what the fuck Londyn’s pussy is made out of.

I’m convinced that its gold the way these niggas constantly at one another’s head.

I can’t be the nigga to go against my team though.

Not in the presence of the enemy. It’s not in me.

I’ll be a bitch ass nigga to do so. So as the loyal ass nigga and leader that I am, I ride each and every time.

Just like before, I deal with the consequences later.

Just as well as the repercussions. This time, the shit landed Cross in the hospital needing an emergency surgery.

It was only a blessing that the bullet landed just three inches away from a main artery.

My boy could’ve been gone. Then it would’ve just been three of us and I don’t know how to take that.

God is trying to tell us something, but we’re being too stubborn to listen.

The beef has multiplied over the years. The shit has gotten so bad, we don’t know how to make it stop.

I’m getting older and for me with age comes wisdom.

If I had to be honest, I didn’t want to continue to beef with these niggas.

But at what point do we get to a stopping point.

How can we make the beef cease without somebody losing their life first. That’s where it’s at now.

It could’ve been Cross, after the whole funeral ordeal.

The last time, it was Dre and Cross. So, this is Cross’ second time getting hit.

I know he must feel a way, but he’s loyal to a fault.

He’ll never switch up and I respect his gangster.

Him getting shot only made me have to pull Dre back in, because we were going to lose money.

I’m not a selfish ass nigga at all. I need Cross to take the time to fully recover so when he comes back, he comes back swinging full throttle.

Though Dre took a bad ass whooping, he’s a soldier.

He was up and moving around like shit didn’t happen.

I had to utilize him otherwise, we would be down two members.

That shit would make sales decline drastically.

I can’t have that right now with all of the shit that Kiya has coming up. I can’t afford to lose any paper.

The shit that I took to the shoulder didn’t make shit any better.

I wanted so badly to kill that nigga Trill.

Luckily the shit didn’t go far enough to do any real damage.

Nevertheless, the bitch ass nigga still shot me.

I’m still dealing with the pain from that shit.

The physical therapy that I started at home has been helping me.

As I drove over to the law firm, I brainstormed ways that we could end this beef with SSC.

As the many thoughts ran through my brain, I still came up with nothing.

One thing for sure it’ll have to start with Trill and I, being that we’re the leaders.

As the head of each organization, the rest of the crew will follow our demand.

So, at the end of the day, it starts and ends with us.

We just have to figure this shit out if he was willing to.

I know that shit was a lose-lose situation because he’s not that type of nigga.

He the type of nigga, once he has beef with you, he’ll always have beef with you.

I get it. It’s the street life, that’s the code.

At least that’s the shit that the street niggas before us instilled into our brains. That’s what we saw and was how many niggas from the hood died. The main reason being undying street beef.

I dislike the nigga just as much as he dislikes me. But if there was a solution we could come to, I think I’m willing to do that shit. Simply because, I love my people too much to lose them to this street shit.

If only I can get the nigga to see it from the same angle that I was looking at it from.

I just shook my head as I made my way into the parking lot.

Knowing that shit would be hard as hell to do because as soon as he sees me somewhere, he’s gonna be ready to put a bullet in my ass.

I can’t lie like I won’t be on the same shit, because I don’t know what the fuck he’s thinking.

I moved my shirt out before I exited the car, making sure everything was well put together.

I didn’t really know what I was about to walk into.

I just needed to make sure that I looked good doing so.

Because I didn’t wanna face this shit alone, I asked Ro to roll with me today.

The nigga keeps me levelheaded because his demeanor is always cool and calm.

Not that I was expecting anything to go wrong but in the instant that it did, it felt good to know that I wasn’t by myself. When I exited my car, he did the same.

“What’s good my brother?”, I asked Ro.

We pulled one another in for a brotherly embrace. The same greeting we had every time we link. Either that or we slapped hands.

“Everything all good on my end partner.”

“Good shit, that’s what I like to hear. Let’s go ahead and get this shit over with”

When we walked into the building, I gave my name to the receptionist to let her know who I was there to see.

She instructed us to go down the hallway.

Informing us that the meeting will be held in the room that was the second door to the left.

It didn’t take us any time to get there.

When I made it to the entrance of the door, Grit greeted me there.

“Savage, you made it.”

“I’m here”, I said with a smile on my face.

“I’m glad you are. I like that punctuality too. I only have one request for you”

“Oh yeah, what’s that?”

“Being that you like to shoot up shit, I don’t really trust your ass with a gun. So let me loan that until we’re done with our meeting”

“Really, what reason will I have to use a gun?”

“You won’t have one, but it’s just the rules. Trust me I won’t let anything happen to you just like I trust that you wouldn’t let anything happen to me. We can leave the motherfuckers in a secure place, but they can’t enter into this room. Now go ahead and up it, because I know you have it on you.”

I just smiled because he was right. I wasn’t going anywhere without my shit on me.

I was hesitant as hell about giving it to him to begin with.

I didn’t want to come out being difficult to work with, so against my better judgment I gave him mine and I instructed Ro to do the same.

Immediately, it felt like I was naked. The only time that I’m lacking is when I’m at home and even then, my shit is within arm’s reach, no matter what room I’m in.

“Y’all can have a seat over there.”

I made my way over to where he told us to sit.

I sat there and patiently waited for whomever else would be entering the room. It wasn’t long before some spiffy ass nigga with a briefcase entered the room. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know that he was the lawyer.

“Brian Hammond”, he said as he extended his hand and politely greeted us.

“Khalil Knox and Roman White”, I said speaking for Ro and I.

Now that he was here, I assumed it was time to get to business. The lawyer took his seat at the head of the table but for some reason Grit was still standing.

“We’re about to get started right?”, I asked Grit.

I didn’t want to be rude. It was just the fact that I had some other shit to tend to once this was over.

“We are, in just a second”, he responded.

I unlocked my phone and went to the Instagram app to kill time. I didn’t know what was taking so long to get the shit started, but I was trying my best not to get annoyed. I’m usually very patient but considering the circumstances I just wanted to get it over with.

Grit went and stood in the hallway. I observed his movement, just trying to figure out what the hell he was on.

Ro was picking up on the shit too but being that it was so fucking quiet in here, we decided to stay silent.

I could vaguely hear him speaking with someone in the hallway.

I couldn’t really hear who he was talking to, but I did hear him give them the same instructions about handing over their gun.

I was glad to know that the nigga wasn’t showing any favoritism to whomever it is.

If I didn’t need mine, nobody in here needed one.

I get that this is a place of business, and most businesses prohibit the use or carrying of any type of machinery.

That is one of the only reasons I obliged.

And the fact that I respect the nigga more than I care to admit.
