Chapter Nine Savage #2
I saw an updated post from Breia, and it immediately caught my attention.
I haven’t spoken with her since I let her know it was the best to cut off our little fling.
It wasn’t me trying to hurt her at all. In all actuality, I was trying to save her.
I just hope that she sees that. I think about her often, but not enough to disrupt her life with false hope.
I didn’t want to make promises that I knew I couldn’t follow through on. So, I decided to just let it be.
I couldn’t lie though; she was looking good and glowing even better.
I guess that’s what they mean when they say sometimes a nigga is a woman’s downfall.
Seems like she’s doing much better now that she’s not fucking with me.
I ain’t mad at it and I can’t hate on it at all.
Shit, at the end of the day I want to see her prosper.
Ro tapping the side of my leg interrupted my thought process.
When I looked up to see what he was tapping me about, I looked directly in the eyes of the enemy once again.
I had no plans of running into Trill today.
Quite frankly, I been tired of looking int the nigga face.
Instinctively, I reached for my gun, but it wasn’t there.
Funny thing is he did the same thing. Now I understood the reason we had to surrender the guns.
Any time me and this nigga were in one another’s vicinity, it turns into a fucking shit show.
“I don’t know what the fuck you on Grit, but I’m not with that Kumbaya shit. I’m not here to make peace with no motherfucker! I know you mean well but I’m out this motherfucker”, Trill said and turned to walk away.
“Trill!!”, Grit called out, in an authoritative tone. “Sit your five-dollar ass down before I make change!”
Trill’s jaw muscle flexed as he was irritated as hell, but he eventually sat down.
Taking a seat directly across from me because that’s what Grit instructed him to do.
I honestly believe he would’ve done that shit anyway to try and prove a point.
We stared each other down as if our eyes could shoot bullets.
That’s how much hatred it was between the two of us.
Shit is crazy, but it’s our reality. I didn’t want to be in his presence no more than he wanted to be in mine.
He wasn’t the only person that was aggravated as fuck. I didn’t know what this shit was about before, but now I’m really confused.
“What is this shit about Grit? I got some money waiting on me and I don’t want this shit to hold my day up.”
“Same shit applies to you nigga. Have some fucking patience. And just like y’all time is valuable, what the fuck you think mine is?
! Now if y’all can sit the fuck back and listen you’ll find out why you’re here.
That’s the main reason I took your damn guns, because y’all like to do that ra-ra shit. Not today, not on my damn watch.”
We both gave him the same look because neither one of us wanted to hear shit he was saying. But we respected the nigga. Even though both of us are stubborn, we decided to listen.
“Let’s go ahead and get the show on the road, Brian”
“Well as I introduced myself to you earlier Mr. Knox, I am Brian Hammond family attorney. Mr. Tavion, it’s nice to meet you as well.
I thank you all for being here today and knowing that everybody in the room’s time is valuable, I’ll get straight to the point.
On June 23, 2026, Mr. Giovanni Laurent passed away unfortunately.
I’ve been his attorney for most of his life, so I’ve always had a great relationship with him and Gianni.
I have a will here from Mr. Giovanni Laurent, that reads as follows:
“To my son’s Tavion Carter and Khalil Knox I leave my wealth, my businesses, all of my real estate, along with their shares.
The only catch to this, is in order to get possession of these things they must work together collaboratively.
If an agreeance cannot be formed then unfortunately the will, will then become void.
Mr. Laurent’s businesses are as follow: Laurent Holdings, LLC.
Which consists of a construction company, luxury apartment complexes, commercial real estate, self-storage facilities, and a car wash chain.
As I stated before, Mr. Laurent has explicitly stated neither Tavian or Khalil can sell, dissolve, or divide Laurent Holdings, LLC for a period of five years.
They will both serve as co-managing members.
If either brother refuses to cooperate, or attempt to seize control, the beneficiary forfeits his interest, and the business will go to another remaining family member. ”
I don’t think it is enough adjectives in the world to describe the shit I felt in the moment.
I was stuck to say the least. I couldn’t form any words.
The only thing I could do was keep replaying that word “brother” in my head over and over again.
I just stared at Trill, thinking to myself that it’s no way this shit could be true.
The lawyer handed us both copies of the will.
I guess Grit didn’t need to see it, because he knew this shit all along.
I didn’t have a clue why Trill was at the funeral.
I honestly thought the nigga may have gotten the drop on us and wanted to start some shit.
Never in a million years would I have thought that he was there to lay his dad to rest as well.
His ass was just as stunned as me. Even though Brian gave us both a copy of the will, it was evident that Trill had no interest in reading the shit.
He just sat there looking irritated as hell.
More than likely still trying to wrap his mind around the shit too.
Talk about a tough ass pill to swallow. Most of my adult life, I’ve been beefing with this nigga.
So finding out that we share the same blood is insane.
I don’t know if I hated the fact that this shit may be true, or it’s the fact that we spent so much time hating one another, when we could’ve been coming together to wreck shit.
After so much time had passed, Trill’s eyes eventually landed on the paper that rested directly in front of him.
I took that time to read over it as well.
Before doing so, I glanced at Ro. All he did was shake his head.
It was evident this shit had him shaken up too.
This shit can either change a lot or make shit worse than what it is.
If it becomes the latter, I can honestly admit that’s some shit I’m not looking forward to.
Brian only gave us a brief summary of the will, giving us the most relevant information.
I knew it was much more to this shit though.
I felt it was important for me to read through it myself and take it all in.
Seeing all of the businesses listed intrigued me.
Giovanni Laurent was a businessman and a self-made millionaire.
While I was reading over the will, Ro did a quick Google search.
Just to see what this nigga was really about.
Even though the internet is full of lies and shit.
It could provide us some kind of information to let us know the legitimacy of the nigga.
Brian talked about our shares, but once I saw what they were, the shit truly blew my mind.
The nigga left us fifteen million dollars apiece.
It was at that moment the realization of being a billionaires son hit me.
“I’m supposed to believe this shit because you said so?”, Trill asked Grit.
Normally I’m against this nigga and anything he stands for. Right now though, he was asking a very valid question.
“I second that shit”, I said, feeling the need to add my two cents.
“Y’all niggas want to take a DNA test or some shit? If so, that shit has already been arranged in case y’all wanted to be on that.”
“Only way I’m gon believe some bogus ass shit like that. Got to come with the DNA”, Trill said.
“Not a problem at all. I’ll do y’all one even better.
Y’all can test me too, just for clarification of the whole thing.
Like I said, I don’t have time to waste.
I’m here right now trying to bring y’all together because that’s what my brother wanted.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s the reason for all of this shit.
Had y’all known, y’all lives could’ve been a lot different.
Maybe y’all would have never been at one another’s necks”
“Since it’s been arranged, can we go ahead and get the shit done?”, I asked.
Grit just nodded his head. He didn’t say shit else.
I know that he’s irritated as fuck with both of us right now.
He has to understand our position though.
This is a whole lot to take in. I need to see the facts on the shit.
I can’t afford to take a motherfuckers word on some shit like this.
It’s too risky and too much shit is at stake.
Our crews hate one another, just as well as we have all of these years.
The possibility of us getting along crossed my mind again, and I wondered if it was possible.
After getting information like that, if we’d had our weapons there is no telling how shit would’ve panned out.
I think not having them kind of forced us to sit in the shit.
It made shit different. Having access to weapons causes people to react first and think last. I’m more than guilty of the shit myself.
To me, it was a safety mechanism. My first instinct is to protect me and mine. This time we couldn’t do that.
Grit got the DNA analyst to the law firm expeditiously. He was ready to get this shit over with just as much as we are. The young girl took blood samples from all three of us. The moment she got the last drop from me; I was ready to know the verdict. I know shit doesn’t work like that though.
“How long does it take to receive results?”, I asked.
