Twisted Fate (Watch Me Burn #3)
Chapter 1
CHAPTER ONE
RORY
“Fucking pain in my ass,” someone muttered, the sound of their feet pacing the room close by as I woke up. The footsteps stopped when I moved a fraction, and the bed I was on dipped as Slash appeared above me with a scowl on his face. “You drive me crazy, you know that?”
“Am I dead? Of course you’d be here. This feels like the kind of hell the devil would put me in for eternal punishment,” I rasped out as I struggled to sit up, realizing I was still in my bedroom, an irritated huff leaving him before he reached out to help me.
“No. You’re still on earth because you’ve obviously been sent here by the devil to punish me,” he growled, raking a hand through his hair. “What the fuck are you doing, Donovan? Do you want to die? Is that it?”
I grabbed the water from my bedside table to try and soothe my throat before speaking, my voice still tight. “I’ve told Hunter to fuck off, but he’s like a mosquito.”
“Why the fuck was he here?”
“Thought you were taking me to the Shed?”
“So did I, but I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because I can’t fucking do that to you!” he snapped, standing to pace again. “Do you understand what would happen? They’d tear you apart.”
“I’m not a spy or anything. I swear.”
“Why didn’t you tell us the Devils were bothering you then?” he demanded, stopping right in front of me to glare down at me.
“I have it handled.”
“Obviously not, or you wouldn’t have had either of them in your fucking house.”
“They’re not going to hurt me,” I pointed out, making him scoff.
“How do you know that?”
I winced, looking away from him. “I just have a feeling.”
“What the fuck have they been saying to you?” When I didn’t answer, he cupped my chin and tilted my head back to meet his gaze. “Aurora. Answer me.”
“They’ve just had a lot of chances to hurt me, that’s all,” I mumbled, trying to pull back, but he wouldn’t let me.
“Listen to me,” he said calmly, squatting in front of me. “If he gave a shit about you, he’d stay away. He knows we’ll find out eventually, and you’ll just be collateral damage.”
I couldn’t exactly tell him about my conversations with him, so I sighed.
“He just wants to find Max, and I have no problem helping him with that.”
“That shit I just witnessed wasn’t you two plotting your father’s demise. That was a few buddies hanging out after a smart person shot one of them,” he muttered. “What happened? It was hard to hear from the other room.”
“The Demons are dead,” I answered bluntly, managing to surprise him.
“What?”
“The Demons showed up at Wet Dreams tonight. Apparently, Lexi married Archer, and Justin flipped out. The Devils were there when it went down and got caught up in it.”
“That doesn’t explain why Hunter and Marco were here.”
“Hunter had to ditch his bike and run on foot. He ended up here,” I shrugged, looking at my hands that still had Hunter’s blood on them. “I made sure you guys weren’t the ones to shoot him, or I wouldn’t have let them in.”
He chuckled dryly, shaking his head at me. “That doesn’t make it any better, babe.”
“He was bleeding on my doorstep. I’m not such a monster that I’d slam it in his face unless you’d been the ones shooting at him.”
“You don’t let a rival crew into your home. Ever.”
“I think if I can let you in, I can let anyone in,” I said as I met his eye, causing him to flinch.
“You guys have beef with the Devils, but I don’t.
So far, they’ve proven they don’t want to cause me harm.
I don’t trust them, and the only reason I don’t want Skeet to know about them being in contact with me is to save a war from breaking out.
It’s not because I’m stabbing him in the back. ”
“Letting Hunter and Marco into your house is stabbing him in the back.”
“You guys won’t tell me the issue, other than they had a falling out. I can’t judge a person based on that.”
“You can. If Skeet says to stay away from someone, you do it without question. Hunter shot your fucking boyfriend, so you should hate him for that fact alone,” he replied as he sat beside me, hesitating before tugging me onto his lap.
I let him, straddling his bulky thighs and finding his worried eyes on mine again, ignoring the boyfriend comment as he continued.
“I thought they’d come here to hurt you.
I saw Hunter walking up your driveway, so I snuck in to ambush him.
I was trying to listen to what you were saying, but then Marco started walking up the stairs and I moved into the other room.
Since they were leaving, I didn’t bother making myself known. ”
“The only person to ever show up here with bad intentions was you,” I said and raised an eyebrow, making him huff.
“I get it, I’m an asshole. Stop reminding me.”
“I promise I’m not working with them to take you guys down,” I said carefully, pressing a hand to his chest so I could trace part of the eagle as it poked out from under his shirt. “Do you trust me?”
“I need to tell Skeet,” he warned, amusement filling me.
“Are you going to tell him our secrets too then?”
“That’s different.”
“How so?”
“Because secrets about Hunter and Marco will get you killed if you keep them hidden, but secrets about you and me? What I did to you? That’s just going to kill him if he finds out,” he whispered, leaning forward to rest his forehead on mine, his hand moving to my ass as his other hand slipped up the back of my shirt.
“I don’t know what this is, Killer, but I’m not ready to lose it just yet. ”
“Then keep your fucking mouth shut about the Devils or I’m going to end up dead and you’ll be fucking your hand again,” I joked, his hand moving to my throat as he pressed his mouth to mine, his voice quiet as he spoke.
“You’d better not be lying to me, or I’ll kill you myself.”
“I promise.”
He groaned, pulling me closer to kiss me as I ran a hand through his hair to keep him in place, and I squirmed as he slipped a hand down my pants to push a finger inside me.
I was so wet, a moan leaving me as I rocked, needing more.
My hands fumbled with his jeans, and I almost died when he pulled his hand free of my pants and sucked his fingers clean.
“You taste like fucking sin,” he bit out, helping me get his jeans down his thighs as I frantically kissed him, managing to get my pants off too with a bit of maneuvering. I lowered myself over him, cursing as I eased him inside me until he was buried to the hilt, starting to ride him.
“Fuck, harder,” he gritted out through his teeth, my legs burning as I picked up the pace. “Harder.”
I was going as hard as I could, but apparently he wanted more as he held my ass firmly and brought me up and down on him, sweat coating both of us as he used me how he wanted.
It was fucking hot.
My teeth bit into his neck as I chased my release, and I jerked with discomfort as his hand moved to my side to hold me, pressing against the bruise on my ribs. His hand pulled away as if my pain had burned him, his fingers sliding into my hair to force my gaze to his as I panted.
“I want to watch you come. I think it’s my new favorite thing,” he murmured, my legs shaking slightly as I tried to hold it off to make this last a little longer. “Come for me. It’s close, isn’t it?”
I nodded, whimpered moans leaving me as the feeling built. He pressed his forehead to mine, both his hands returning to my ass to keep bouncing me as I fell apart.
“Fuck, you’re so fucking good for me. Don’t shut your eyes, look at me,” he ordered gently, continuing to move me how he wanted as I rode it out. “You’re so fucking hot. Come again.”
“I can’t,” I gasped, and he pulled out to stand and lay me back on the bed, my legs automatically wrapping around him as he pushed inside me again.
I was shaking, my body still coming down from the high, but when he started fucking me hard and fast, the tingles built and exploded, a scream leaving me from the surprise.
“There you go,” he bit out, slamming into me a few more times before finishing himself.
A shudder rolled through me as he ran his teeth and tongue across my throat, both of us panting as we tried to catch our breaths.
“You’re going to kill me with those,” I joked, enjoying the soft touches as his fingers traced over my neck and shoulder, moving down slightly to toy with my nipple through my shirt.
“How did I ever hate someone whose pussy is so good?” he mumbled, making me laugh as he leaned back to peer down at me with amusement.
“Guess you just had to try it,” I answered, lifting my hips slightly. “I take it you’ll keep your mouth shut?”
He grimaced and rolled onto his side, bringing me with him to pull me against his chest with a sigh.
“I can’t watch them tear you apart, Donovan. Even if you don’t give a shit about yourself, don’t put Diesel through that kind of shit again. He barely made it through the last time.”
I frowned, looking up at him. “What happened? I know he lost someone he cared about because of the crew.”
“I can’t tell you, he will when he’s ready, but she was his entire world.
I know I’m tough on the guys, but this is why.
I’m protecting them from that kind of heartbreak,” he mumbled, lifting a hand to tuck my hair behind my ear.
“It was horrific, and it haunts a lot of us. Skeet’s loyal to the crew, and even though he’d choose you in a lot of ways, I don’t know which side he’d choose if it came down to it.
Chances are high that he’d put the crew first if he found out about Hunter and Marco being around you, but that shit would eat away at him for the rest of his life.
Don’t force his hand. There’d be no coming back from that. ”
“I’m not out to hurt him,” I whispered, and he sighed as he sat up.
“I know you might not mean to, but you’re playing with fire. I’ll help you find Max so you can send him in Hunter’s direction. Then, you cut ties. Understood?”
“Understood.”
