Chapter 1 #2
“Good. Now that I know you’re not getting murdered by the enemy, I should go. Is someone else coming home tonight?” he asked as he stood and fixed his pants, his attention on my cum-soaked pussy.
“I don’t know. I sort of had a few words with Josie this morning about Skeet, so I think everyone’s giving me space,” I huffed, rolling onto my back and giving him a better view of the mess he’d made.
“What did you fight about?” he asked, reaching out to run his fingers through his cum.
“Skeet’s lack of income if he knocks me up. She’s on our asses about being careful now she knows this is one big orgy,” I deadpanned, his hand pausing as he looked up at my face.
“She gave him the sex talk?”
“Kind of. She insulted him about his lack of finances too. I haven’t heard from him, so I have no idea if it scared him away or not,” I joked, getting to my feet and swatting his hand away. “I thought you were leaving?”
“I know more broke fuckers who look after their kids than I do rich pricks. Josie’s a rare rich parent,” he muttered, taking my chin and lifting my mouth to his for a kiss. “Give Skeet space. He’ll come around.”
“I should shower in case he comes around tonight,” I winced, the cum starting to slide down my thighs. “And I need to deal with this blood and the mess in the bathroom.”
“Go. I’ll do a sweep of the house and lock up on my way out. No more letting them in,” he said firmly, waiting for me to nod before he stepped back.
I could sense his eyes on me as I walked into my bathroom and closed the door, not hearing his footsteps leave my bedroom until the water kicked on.
Slash
“Fuck,” I hissed under my breath as I climbed into my car that I’d parked around the corner from Rory’s house, smacking the steering wheel with frustration.
I should’ve dragged her out to the damn car and hauled her ass to the Shed like I was supposed to, but the thought of losing her had my fucking head doing dumb shit, like agreeing to lie to my best friend and our crew.
She was lying straight to my face. Hunter wasn’t just hanging around because of Max. He was way too friendly with her, and she’d sounded too relaxed around him, meaning they were familiar with each other.
Did I believe she was working for them to take us down? No.
Did I believe it was a lot more than what she was telling me? Absolutely.
No wonder Skeeter was brainwashed by her pussy, she’d sucked me in with it too, and I never got attached.
I started the engine and headed towards home, finding myself driving straight through Ashburn Valley and all the way into Mount Mercer before I realized what I was doing.
Hunter’s house was easy to find, and I didn’t even try to be quiet as I pulled into his driveway and slammed my door before heading towards the house. My fist pounded on the door twice before it swung open, amusement written all over Marco’s face as he blocked me from entering.
“Does Skeet know you break into his girl’s house?” he asked lightly, tilting his head. “Does she know?”
“What the fuck are you two playing at?” I demanded, nudging past him and walking inside, finding Hunter sitting at the kitchen table.
He was shirtless, bandages covering the damage from earlier.
“You know Skeet’s going to kill her if he finds out she’s stabbing him in the back by hanging out with you. ”
Hunter smirked, taking a drag of his joint and blowing it at me. “What I want to know is why you ran here instead of to the Shed to rat her out. Don’t tell me you like this girl now? Didn’t you want her dead?”
“We made a truce. One that you’re going to destroy if you don’t stay the fuck away from her,” I spat, motioning to his bandage. “You thought you’d fight the Demons as a warm-up before coming at us or something?”
He rolled his eyes, motioning for me to sit. “You need to relax, Russo. I’m not going to hurt Donovan. I kind of like her, she’s mouthy.”
“If you like her, then stop trying to get her killed,” I answered sharply, taking a step closer and hearing a gun click behind me.
Hunter’s smirk widened, his fingers tapping on the table in thought. “Careful. You’re in my house now. How about you sit the fuck down?”
I glanced over my shoulder, finding Marco there with his gun aimed at me, and I clenched my fists before lowering myself onto a chair.
“There. Happy?” I bit out, a chuckle leaving Marco as he sat too, his gun remaining in his hand. At least it wasn’t aimed at me now.
“What are you doing here? You could’ve had this conversation with us in Rory’s bedroom, you know? I saw your car parked on the street around the corner, so even if I hadn’t seen you on the cameras, I knew you were lurking around. So, does Skeet know about your little visit?”
“I don’t want another war between us, believe it or not.
I saw Hunter walking up her driveway and thought I’d make sure he didn’t do anything stupid to piss off Skeet.
The last thing I expected was to find you guys all hanging out like besties as she kissed your boo boos better,” I said flatly, lighting a cigarette and glaring at Hunter.
“I don’t have to like her to keep her away from you. She’s Psychos’ property, end of story.”
“Say that to her face. Fucking dare you,” Hunter snickered, eyeing me. “She can kiss more than my fucking boo boos if she wants. She’s hot. I think about her when I jerk off.”
“She’s Skeet’s.”
“He’s letting the rich pricks fuck her, which means he doesn’t want her that badly. You know he doesn’t like to share the toys that he really gives a fuck about,” he murmured, sliding his gaze to Marco. “He’s only mad at Mark because of that bitch he was fucking.”
“What the fuck have you been telling Rory?” I asked flatly, knowing they were causing drama of some kind. Skeeter would flip the fuck out if they were telling Rory his private shit. His past relationships meant nothing now, and he liked to keep things buried.
“I haven’t told her shit. I want to know why he doesn’t tell her things, though.
If he cares so much about his property, why the fuck didn’t she know about us?
You’d think informing her of your enemies was kind of important,” Hunter stated like the words were bitter.
“She’s going to end up dead because of him.
I see it in her eyes when I give her information.
She eats it up because she’s starved of it. ”
“He can keep her safe.”
“Can he? He doesn’t even fucking know about us sneaking around, so who knows who else is bothering her that she hasn’t mentioned to him? It’s obvious she can’t talk to him about her concerns.”
“Who says she doesn’t?”
He smirked, blowing more smoke at me. “I’m on the outside, and even I see and hear things that Skeet doesn’t know. Maybe if he wasn’t such a prick, then she’d tell him things.”
“What do you know?” I asked flatly, making him shrug.
“None of your business. All I know is she’s not safe, and she won’t go to him about it. That tells me everything I need to know about their relationship. Don’t worry, I’ve got her.”
“If someone’s after her—”
“It’s nothing for you to worry about, or she probably would’ve told you.
Maybe. At least Hendricks dealt with Lopez, so she doesn’t have to worry about the Demons becoming an issue,” he replied as he butted out his joint, fighting a wince as he leaned back to get comfortable.
“Again, why are you here? I’m not out to hurt her or anything, and if I wanted to piss off Skeet, I’d have already fucked her and told him about it. ”
“Why’d you go to her tonight?” I asked, and Marco chuckled, drawing my attention.
“He was bleeding and on foot in Ashburn Valley. Where else was he going to run to?”
“How well do you know each other?” I demanded, not liking how close they all seemed.
“Not that well. I know she can’t open up to people and that she was assaulted by Tristan Holloway. She freaked a little the first time I grabbed her,” Hunter said, making my blood boil.
“You touched her?”
“You might not like me, but you know me,” Hunter said in a low voice, his eyes narrowing. “I just wanted to talk to her. You know I’d never lay a hand on that girl regardless of how much I wanted to fuck with Skeet.”
“You’re wrong. I don’t fucking know you at all, Rivera. Not anymore,” I scoffed, getting to my feet and ignoring Marco’s gun as he pointed it at me again. “The Hunter I knew never would’ve shot Skeet and left him for dead. He almost fucking died because of you.”
“Next time, I won’t fucking miss,” he snarled, motioning to the door. “Run along and either rat me out for being in Rory’s house, or keep it to yourself. I don’t give a fuck what you do.”
“I don’t get how I ever called you a brother,” I spat, stalking towards the door and yanking it open, a snort coming from him.
“Feeling’s mutual, Russo.”
