Chapter Six #2
I shrug, “You never know. It felt polite to knock.” I pause, realizing how crazy that sounds, and add, “I’m really tired.”
Quiet chuckles are the only response I get to that statement because they know me well enough by now to know that I’m tired. The fact that a couple of them are yawning too makes me feel a bit better.
I don’t waste any more time, my bed is calling to me, and I push down the handle, opening the door. I’m not really sure what I was expecting, but I do know that I am slightly disappointed that it looks like a pretty generic room. There are no personal touches and no signs of any personality.
“Unless whoever is intended for this room is really boring, then I would assume that this is a guest room,” Reed says.
“Agreed,” Griff mutters as he looks around and pulls open the doors for the closet and bathroom, both of which have the same kind of décor as the main room, and look a bit like rooms in a fancy hotel. He continues, “Let’s check out the other one, maybe that one has a personality.”
River narrows his eyes slightly, “Are you getting some sort of premonition, or is this just an idea?”
Griff’s eyebrows dip down slightly as he thinks about River’s question, and then he shakes his head, “It’s not a premonition, just an idea.”
River nods, “I just thought I’d check. With your visions playing up, it’s possible that you had a premonition feeling but didn’t realize it.”
“He’s right,” Raiden agrees. “I know that you have always had them, but with this latest development, I think you should treat it like a new gift with all of the complications that come along with it, as we mentioned before in Reed’s room.”
Griff nods, “Yeah, I’ve been thinking about it since it was mentioned, not that it was mentioned that long ago, but the new visions don’t really work as my old ones did. It’s going to take me a little bit of time, but I should be able to work out the more subtle signs pretty quickly.”
“It’s a part of who you are, so I would think so,” Doc replies. “Let’s check out that other room.”
We follow him to the other spare room that’s further down the hallway and nestled between Coen’s and River’s rooms.
I find it interesting that they aren’t together, House designed it like this for a reason, and I would love to know why he did, but that’s not exactly a yes or no question so it will take some figuring out on our part before we could ask the right yes or no question that would give us the answer that we were looking for.
“It’s exactly the same as the other room,” Van says as he looks back out of the room.
“Definitely for guests then,” Griff agrees with a smile.
“Absolutely,” Doc nods. “Now I need a shower and my bed. I will head back to the house tomorrow at some point and pick up anything that was left by the door.” He looks at Raiden and Ransom, “I’m assuming that you don’t need me to grab any of the lab equipment or books?”
They both shake their heads.
“As far as I can tell, everything that I need is here,” Raiden says.
“Same. I will check just in case, but I’m pretty sure that I have everything that I need,” Ransom agrees.
“Awesome.” Doc grins. His eyes land on me, and he pulls me close as he kisses me deeply. “Night, Neith.” Stepping back, he adds, “Night, guys.”
“Night, man,” Van says as he does the same as Doc and pulls me in for a kiss.
One by one, they all kiss me, and by the time that I’m in Reed’s arms, the last one to kiss me, I can’t remember my own damn name.
Reed moves as if to step away from me, and my brain kicks back online, nope, I want cuddles tonight. Plus, I’m still not keen on sleeping by myself. I’m not sure I ever will be. I sleep so much better with them in bed with me, and they help to keep the nightmares at a more manageable level.
“Stay with me?” I ask and then add, “If you want to, I mean, you have just got an awesome new room, so I would totally understand if you wanted to stay in there instead. I mean . . .”
My rambling is suddenly cut off as Reed’s lips meet mine, and I practically melt into him.
His thumb rubs along my cheekbone as he smiles at me softly, “I would love to stay with you, Neith. Always, whenever you want me to.”
“Good,” I grin. I had intended to say more, but my yawn interrupts, and Reed chuckles.
“Come on,” he says as he tugs me in the direction of my room.
I briefly remember River and Coen saying earlier that they wanted to sleep in my room tonight, but they both quickly disappeared into their rooms, with shuffling feet and giant yawns, so I’m guessing that they forgot, just like I did.
That’s okay, there’s always tomorrow, and the next day, and the one after that, we’ve got time.
I sigh with happiness as I walk through the doors of my room, and I’m greeted by my stuff.
It’s not an exact replica of my room back in town, in fact, the room itself is nothing like that.
It’s simply filled with my things, and that’s what makes it so perfect for me.
I wouldn’t want the room size or tiny bathroom that I had in that house, and I love the extras that House has added here, like the bookshelves, fireplace, and of course, the giant closet and bathroom.
I pat the wall as I walk further into the space, silently thanking House, and the fire flares slightly in response.
Another yawn overtakes me.
Once we’ve showered, I practically stumble over to the bed, and Reed pulls me under the covers, positioning me so my back is to his chest and dropping a kiss on my bare shoulder before he settles down.
My nerve endings come alive from that simple contact, and I wriggle my ass. It’s like he has a direct connection to my clit, even though his lips are nowhere near it.
Reed’s breath hitches as my ass rubs against his hard dick.
“You know what? I don’t think I’m that tired after all,” I mutter as Reed’s hand slowly moves up my stomach. He palms my boob, pinching my nipple and making me moan quietly, before it continues its journey up to my neck.
My heart pounds as my clit pulses. The feel of Reed’s hand around my neck, squeezing with just the right amount of pressure, is intoxicating.
