Chapter 38

Jamison

I rip Lockhart out of the back of the car and toss him onto the ground. Sebastian and Xavier both stand behind him, their arms crossed.

“You little shit," he says, getting to his feet and dusting off his suit.

“Hello, Father,” I purr out. He visibly cringes.

“Yeah, hey, dad,” Jonathan says as he climbs out from the car and helps Kaz out from behind him. She looks dazed as I scan her body for injuries.

“She’s fine, just a little beat up,” Jonathan says to me. I nod back at him.

“What the fuck is this about?” Lockhart asks, looking around. His eyes widen when he spots Sebastian and then Xavier.

Xavier smiles and gives a little wave. “It’s like one big fucking family reunion, Uncle. Aren’t you excited? Maybe we should video chat with Sasha too.”

Lockhart laughs, “Oh yes, do put Sasha on a video chat for me. I would love to speak with her and tell her all about her surprise. There’s someone that’s been missing her and he can’t wait to see her again. As a matter of fact, he’s probably already there.”

Xavier frowns at him before pulling his phone out and shooting off a text.

“I have a better idea,” Sebastian says, causing Lockhart’s head to swivel towards him. “Let's play a game.”

He pulls out a revolver and empties out all of the bullets into his hand before pocketing them and placing just one back in the chamber. He then spins it before closing it and pointing at Lockharts knee. “How about twenty questions?”

“I’ll start,” Xavier says, pocketing his phone. “Why did you kill your own brother?”

I raise my eyebrows at Xavier in surprise. Talk about going straight for it.

“I wanted to take over our father’s empire. He would have ran it into the ground. He had too many ‘feelings’," he says, making air quotes with his fingers. “The little shit was everyone’s favorite. Always getting whatever the fuck he wanted. He wanted to run off into the sunset with his friends like a third fucking wheel.” He turns to Jonathan and smiles before looking at me. “Sound familiar? The apples might not fall so far from the tree after all.”

“Shut the fuck up,” Jonathan says. “We are nothing like you. We would never hurt each other.”

Lockharts smirks, not taking his eyes off of me, “says the one with all those feelings.”

I glare at him.

“It’s not a coincidence, we all ended up in college together. It can’t be coincidence that both Riley and Kaz ended up at Bolt Corporation either. How the fuck did you swing that?” Sebastian asks from out of nowhere.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Lockhart says, goading him.

Sebastian doesn’t hesitate before pulling the trigger, making Lockhart jump.

“Should we try that again?” Sebastian asks, raising his eyebrow.

Lockhart puts his hands up to stop him, “I may have had a part with Riley applying to Bolt Corporation. I might have planted the bug in Nate’s father’s ear in hopes that she would get a job there so I could eventually get information on you when I took her. I didn’t think you would fall for the little bitch. She was supposed to be mine to sell.”

Sebastian growls and pulls the trigger. This time the gun goes off and the bullet hits Lockhart in the knee causing him to buckle and cry out when he hits the ground.

“What the fuck?” He screams. “I answered your fucking question, you prick!”

“I know. I didn’t like your answer though,” Sebastian says, shrugging his shoulders and pulling out all of the remaining bullets from his pocket before replacing them back in the chamber. He hands the gun to Xavier. “This game is boring now.”

Xavier takes it and points it at Lockhart. “You weren’t ever going to let Sasha and I go, were you?”

Lockhart laughs. It's strained and you can tell he’s in pain. “You, yes. You signed all I needed from you over. Sasha however, has always been my golden ticket to taking over The Triad. I was preparing to set up an arranged marriage for her until you came along and fucked everything up. Don’t worry though, I’m sure her little friend will be seeing her very soon.”

The gun goes off, hitting Lockhart in the shoulder. He howls out in pain before pressing his hand to the wound.

“How long have you been watching Kaz?” Jonathan asks as he walks over and grabs the gun from Xavier’s hand.

“Long enough to know you two have been fucking her. Long enough to see that she has turned both of my spawn into weak little bitches. You’re both fucking pathetic, letting some whore..”

His words are cut off by Kaz's fist connecting with his jaw. Blood flies from his mouth and his head whips sideways making both Jonathan and I grin in unison.

“Fuck, Pretty Girl,” Jonathan says, adjusting himself. “That made me so fucking hard.”

I look down to see the blood has indeed rushed down to my dick. “I concur, Kitten. That was sexy as fuck.”

She looks at both of us, smiling wide.

“As much as I would love to watch this little show, we should probably take care of this situation first, preferably before the police show up and wonder what a bunch of lawyers are doing torturing someone,” Xavier cuts in.

“How did you find out about Jonathan and I? Did you know we had been to The Cellar?” I ask. I wasn’t going to but I know now, that if I don’t, I might always wonder.

He spits out a glob of blood and smirks at me. The blood coats his teeth, disgustingly. His eyes dart towards his car before flicking back towards me. Is he thinking about trying to escape because if so, he is out of luck. There's no escaping this time.

“If I would have known you both were mine, I would have made sure you spent a little more time in The Cellar. Maybe then, you might have been a bit more compliant, like your cousin.”

“Do you fucking care about anyone?” Kaz cuts in. She kicks him in the gut causing him to double over. “They are your fucking children, you piece of shit.”

He glares at her. “They should have never been born. Had I known their mother was pregnant, I would have cut them from her stomach myself.”

I look at Jonathan. It’s clear Lockhart’s words are affecting him. I couldn’t care less what he has to say. His words are empty and meaningless to me. They make me feel nothing. Seeing my brother hurt is what guts me. Knowing he will never be able to shut off those emotions. Knowing that he will forever more carry that pain around with him. And the worst part…knowing I couldn’t save him from any of it. But now…now I can.

“Enough,” I say, snatching the gun from Jonathan’s hand and pointing it directly in Lockhart’s face.

His eyes go wide but he quickly schools his features before smirking. “Are you going to do what I did? Are you going to kill me? How about your brother? Will he be next?”

I don’t say a word as I stare down at him. He really is the pathetic one. Trying so hard to control his emotions, they’re practically flowing out with the blood he is losing. He’s attempting to bait me into keeping him alive longer. What a ridiculous notion. The thought makes me chuckle out loud. The sound is foreign and disturbing, even to me. And when I look around, I can see the perplexed look on everyone else’s faces. They too are just as surprised to hear it.

I smile wide as I approach Lockhart and bend down so I am level with him. My hand grips his hair tightly while I position the gun angled right up under his chin.

“Like father, like son,” I reply before pulling the trigger.

Silence surrounds us all while I stay kneeling in front of Lockhart’s mangled body. His blood coats my face, my hands and even my suit.

“I’m calling Antonio for cleanup,” Sebastian says. Xavier mumbles something but I don’t hear what it is. I feel soft hands come down on my shoulders before making their way up towards my face. Kaz turns my head to hers, searching my eyes. I feel my brother's hand come down on my shoulder and I instinctively grab it, holding tightly. I need something to ground me right now.

“Are you okay?” Kaz asks me.

I look down to see her hands now coated in blood and it does something to me. Leaning in, I kiss her hard. My hand comes up to her hair, gripping it firmly as I pull her closer to me and ravage her mouth. She moans into me, causing my dick to stir to life. I feel Jonathan’s hand squeeze mine tighter. I’m two seconds away from taking her right here on the ground, next to Lockhart’s dead body, when Xavier’s voice cuts in.

“Umm, hey guys, as hot as this is to watch, I think we may have a bigger problem.”

We all look over to see Sebastian walking over to Xavier who has the trunk of the car open and is peering inside with wide eyes.

“Indeed,” Sebastian says, before looking at all three of us.

All three of us get up and walk over to see what the fuss is about. Inside is a tied up woman. Her mouth is taped shut and her bright blue eyes stare up at us like a deer caught in headlights. Her brown hair is a mess of tangles and she’s covered in blood and bruises. Her clothing is ripped and stained.

“Jesus Christ, get her out!” Kaz yells, breaking us all out of our stupor.

Sebastian pulls her to a sitting position while I use my pocket knife to cut her binds. Kaz gently pulls the tape from her mouth and pushes her hair from her face.

“You're safe now," she says to her. My brows scrunch up as I stare at the woman. She looks familiar. Have I seen her somewhere before?

“What’s your name?” Sebastian asks. He too is looking at her oddly.

“Eve," she croaks out. Her voice sounds small and weak.

“Holy shit,” Xavier whispers, loud enough for all of us to hear. “You’re the woman in the picture.”

“What are you talking about?” Jonathan asks him, confused.

“She’s your…she’s both of your…” He’s looking at us both now.

I turn to see Kaz look at Jonathan and me and then Eve before her eyes go wide.

Eve turns to us both. A small weak smile forming on her lips. “Your mother.
