Chapter 17

Venom – Two Months Later

I slowly lick my bottom lip, watching as Cherri laughs at something Bunny says while her eyes go to any brother that is sitting around, trying to pick her next target, not caring if they are taken or not. As long as she has a chance of grabbing that patch or worse, more information on the club.

I’m fucking pissed. Instead of trying to get through to Raya, I’m here, watching Cherri’s every move because the bitch is aware of my cameras.

It turns out she’s been more observant over the years than we all thought, and I can’t kill her just yet.

I sigh as I rub my chin. Two fucking months and Raya has all but cut everyone within the club out of her life.

Only contact was sending one message to Blade explaining how Cherri is the one who tipped off Kitty of Viper’s whereabouts.

That day she turned crazy and demanded we not question how she knew.

Fuck, she’s barely even seen Huddy and Tate and of course I haven’t put her name in the database like I threatened two months ago after I returned on a shitty run where the cops pulled our thankfully empty van over on the way home.

I don’t want her to hate me any more than she already does, it’s my worst fear. I want her to see me as her home, like she’s mine, and if she thinks she can push me away now that I have opened my eyes, she has another thing coming.

“Brother,” Medic says as he takes a seat next to me, and I give him a nod in acknowledgement without looking away from an oblivious Cherri, not knowing we know she’s a traitor, though to be honest, we should have seen it coming.

“Any word from Raya?” he asks quietly, and my eyes move to Ivy, who is smiling widely at a happy Hudson squealing and giggling at his father.

Having Medic back after serving for our country is fucking amazing, he’s been missed.

“No, and she’s still ignoring Ives,” I reply just as quietly, “I literally got what I have wanted for years, and I fucking hate it.”

“It’s got to be something more than Ivy not giving her a heads up of your fuck up with Angel,” he says, and I hum because yeah, I’ve already come to that realization.

“I know, I think at first, it hurt her,” I admit as I look at the bald fucker, “She probably felt blindsided and hurt that Ivy didn’t have her back like she has always had hers even after I tried to push to break their friendship.

But now, I think there’s something more going on and I’m itching brother because she’s using it as an excuse now. ”

He nods before he eyes Cherri, every brother in this room aware of her traitorous ways, and he confirms, “You don’t want to break that bit of trust, do you?”

I look at Cherri and sigh, seeing her trying to hang off my dad’s arm, who looks pissed off, not that I blame him.

“Several times I’ve put her name in the database and several times I’ve removed it,” I admit, “I just know if I take a step over that line, I may never win her over.”

Only Blade and Medic are aware of what I’m trying to do with Raya. I can’t have the club try to get involved, to try and take over. And I really cannot be fucking bothered with the third degree from Ivy and their little girl group they’ve got going on about hurting their friend.

Raya and I have been in the making since the day we fucking met, and keeping them out of it until I can convince her I’m not trying to ruin her fucking life because of her friendship with Ivy, no one will know I’ve taken that leap to make the girl mine.

Though I don't know how no one hasn’t noticed my neck yet…

“Look, why don’t we go find her?” Medic says, and I raise a brow at him, but he shrugs and nods to dad, “Your dad’s now taking over watching the bitch, heck, he might even be able to find what we’re looking for before we kill her, so let’s go find your girl and bring her where she belongs, kicking and screaming. ”

I look at Dad, and we lock eyes. He gives me a head nod, confirming he’s now taking over, and I swallow hard.

I’ve sat outside Raya’s door every night for the past two months, even if she isn’t there, I’ve sat there and not once has she spoken to me.

I spoke about our past, our childhood, heck, I’ve even talked about my fears fucking up with the club, especially after the cops pulled over our van on the way home, something we’re now aware was Cherri’s doing.

She’s trying to take down the club out of spite.

Viper made Lake his woman, and she’s not getting any benefits over it, and why would she? She didn’t want Lake. She wasn’t a brother's daughter, and don’t get me started about the fact that not one brother has knocked her up or given her their property patch.

The woman wants revenge for not getting the easy life. Something we didn’t realize until Raya mentioned it, and after doing some digging, I found out she has fucking years’ worth of ammo against the club.

Every dirty deal, every club run done, and the affiliations with the club, every woman or traitor that we’ve killed, she’s got it all on a flash drive, messages between her and Hayden fucking Gillies negotiating millions for it.

After a full club meeting with no women present and the blocker I had in place to prevent anyone from hearing us if the woman had the place bugged.

It was decided to watch her to try and find the flash drive.

We can’t kill her and risk the chance of it automatically being sent to Hayden with her death, I mean, I don’t think she’s smart enough to plan something like that and the drive is most likely in her room but we can’t risk it, just like we can’t ransack her room without tipping her off that we know about the drive and her sending the information, bringing down the fucking club.

Fuck, even in the messages, it showed Luna is also at risk, claiming she knows she killed Brock, her rapist.

I sigh. I’ve opened my fucking heart to Raya, including explaining about Cherri and our problems, about Angel, but she’s still not letting me in, not even an inch.

Maybe grabbing her is the best route to go, to get her to hear me out.

I give dad a nod in return before I look at Medic and state, “Let’s roll out,” and the big fucker grins wide, then knocks on the table twice and gets up.

I follow suit and give Blade, who raises a brow, a one-finger salute and walk towards the door, Raya front and foremost on my mind.

We have church in an hour, so we need to make this quick. If I have to carry her over my shoulder, then I will.

Twenty minutes later, knowing the diner is our best bet, we pull up out front of it.

She loves the coffee and comes here at least four times a day.

I know it’s a long shot, but we’re limited on time, and this is the only option I have, especially since I know for a fact she’s never at home during the day.

The camera outside her apartment, which I may or may not monitor, provides proof of it.

“She’s here,” Medic says as he pulls up next to me, causing me to look up and see her walking out of the diner with a bag that looks full of food, and my pulse races.

Her hair is down and straight, she’s wearing more makeup than normal, a little white summer dress, looking absolutely beautiful.

Fuck, does she have a date?

Is it Hayden?

I’ve never seen her this done up before, well, except for Sky and Fury’s wedding, but fuck me, she’s gorgeous.

Jealously spikes as her moans echo in my head and my thoughts run wild.

Does she moan for him?

Does her body lock around his?

Medic climbs off his bike, and I follow suit, allowing my anger and jealousy to fester as we walk over to Raya before she can reach her tiny ass car and stand before her, making her halt in her tracks.

She jumps as she looks up, then eyes both of us with caution, making me smirk coldly.

She looks like someone going on a date, she’s beautiful, and I allow my anger to run my mouth.

“Kitten,” I say coldly, causing Medic to look my way with a raised brow.

Yeah, I know, I sound pissed off, but that’s because I am!

“Venom,” she returns flatly.

I eye her dress, the bust looking fucking delicious, and I ask, “Off on a date with your little thug boyfriend Hayden?”

“Ah shit,” Medic mutters, seeing where my thoughts went.

Raya narrows her eyes and snaps, “Actually, I’m off for dinner with my mama and stepfather. I just picked up the dessert. Is that okay with you, Venom?”

Shit.

She scoffs, “So, all those nights you’ve sat outside my door were bullshit, huh? You’d think I’d go near that man? The one who tried to buy my best friend? The one who kills innocent families?”

Okay, so I may have fucked up and let my jealousy override me.

As if it happens in slow motion, I watch as Raya side eyes Medic before she looks at me and states, “You know what, Venom, how about an eye for an eye, you know, you screwed me up against my door only to screw a stripper then knock her up so…”

Before I can grab her, to stop her from making the decision I know I’ll destroy the world over, she grabs an unsuspecting Medic by his cut.

She goes on her tiptoes, slams her lips against his, instantly even from here, I can see her push her tongue inside his mouth and I growl loud and fierce.

When the fucker grips her hips and kisses her back just as hard, I lose it.

His lips against her is all I see, and a red mist I’ve never felt before takes over, pure anger rushing over me.

He’s dead, he’s fucking dead!

“Oh come on, she kissed me, not the other way around!” Medic complains as we walk into church fifteen minutes later. The room is already full, and Blade raises a brow, but I shake my head as I round the table and take a seat, the urge to kill my friend fucking high.

I had to drag him away, fucking drag the dickhead away before I snapped his neck.

“Venom,” he tries, but I give him a fierce glare and remind him, “And you fucking kissed her back!”

He shrugs and admits, “I did, but brother, she’s one hell of a good kisser, you can’t blame a guy.”
