Chapter 17 #2

“I’m going to kill you,” I threaten as I fist my hands while the brothers look at us with confusion.

Medic laughs, “I never grabbed her, she is the one who pulled on my cut. Raya kissed me first.”

“Wait, wait, wait,” my dad says from the other side of the table, and I send him a warning glare, but he ignores it and confirms, “You and Raya kissed?” as he points at Medic, who sits back, all smug and grins wide.

The brothers all laugh their asses off at my expense seeing what she’s done. I growl as I sit back in my chair before I decide to chuck it against the memorabilia wall.

Not only did she fucking kiss Medic to piss me off and most likely prove a point over Angel, but she also stormed off before I could throw her over my shoulder. My body is literally vibrating with so much anger it’s filling me.

Fucking woman is making it harder and harder not to look more into her history, a history I know there’s a lot to unravel, especially since finding out about her father.

“Okay, okay, quiet down, let’s get church started,” Blade says as he bangs the gavel on the table, trying not to laugh, and my jaw ticks.

Fuckers, all of them are fuckers, and Medic still grinning is not making it any easier to keep my anger at bay.

“I swear to fuck, Medic, I’m not opposed to violence,” I threaten when Medic doesn’t lose his grin, and my dad snorts and reminds me, “Son, you have a woman claiming to be pregnant,” trying to save Medic's ass, and I glare hard at my dad.

“She’s refusing a blood test or even a scan, we all know she’s not pregnant, and that fucker kissing Raya was out of line!” I snap, fed up with the whole fucking situation.

Everyone in this room is savvy regarding the situation with Angel, so the fact that they still want to joke about her being fucking ‘pregnant’ is annoying as fuck.

“You have a guy on her brother?” Blade confirms, trying to distract me from hitting his treasurer and our long-time friend.

I side-eye Medic, who is still grinning like a fucker before I sigh and admit, “Yeah, Trent. He does this job right, then I think he’ll be ready to be voted in.”

Blade nods. The guy is an amazing prospect and will make an even better brother.

Viper tilts his head and asks, “Has he caught her with anyone yet?” already knowing what Angel is trying to do, and I nod and confirm, “Four men at the strip club, and each time they leave the room, they moan about her wanting to go gloveless, and only one has agreed.”

Fucking bitch is trying to get knocked up one way or another but how she thinks she’ll get away with claiming it to be mine I don’t know but what I do know, until she’s past the point where I can get a DNA test, it’ll do enough damage that I can kiss goodbye to any form of a relationship with Raya.

“And your mama?” Psycho asks with a tick in his jaw.

He’s not keen on my mother, and I can’t really fucking say I blame him.

“Bitch is still in town,” my dad cuts in, “I went to confront her and she called the fucking feds.”

She’s got people in her pocket right now, which is the only reason why we haven’t killed her.

Not because she’s mine and Ivy’s blood. She’s cozied up with the chief of police and the fucking mayor, most likely giving them sexual favors despite them being married to amazing women, and right now, her sole focus is getting Raya away from the club.

Why I really fucking don’t know.

“Get a prospect on her, I don’t trust her, especially not with Hudson,” Blade states, and Psycho nods, replying, “Already got it done, Prez,” before he nods to me, and I nod in return.

I’ve had a prospect on her since the day I found out she was back in town, Psycho and I coming up with a system so the club still runs around the clock with one prospect off-site.

Blade nods, then looks around the table and opens his mouth, but before he can get into the finances, there’s a knock on the door. We look as a prospect opens it before Gregory walks in wearing a suit and tie, looking all professional, and I quickly sit up straighter.

I thought Raya said she was meeting him and her mama?

I frown, confusion hitting me.

Did she lie?

Gregory eyes me for a second before holding some paperwork up, but winces seeing we’re in the middle of church, and says, “Sorry to interrupt, boys, but I thought you’d want these in your hands, the contracts signed, so you can now expand Dark Angel’s Girls.”

I haven’t been able to speak to him since finding out he’s Raya’s stepfather, and I confronted him about not telling us about his connection to her.

“Fucking perfect,” Viper states, excited to have a bigger office, causing the brothers to chuckle while I lean forward and ask, “How’s Raya?” like she didn’t just piss me the fuck off, and Medic snorts, making me scowl.

Fucker.

Gregory raises a brow and skeptically asks, “Why do you want to know?”

Shit.

I swallow hard and lie, “I just haven’t seen her in a while, that's all.”

“You mean since she kissed me this morning to piss you off?” Medic mumbles quietly, and I elbow him hard, making him choke on a laugh before Gregory admits, “Venom, I spoke to my wife, I know what happened this morning, so cut the shit, yeah? You spent years treating my daughter like shit, but have now suddenly opened your eyes and want her and expect her to come running. You should be grateful I don’t own a shotgun. ”

Fuck, I guess she’s still actively contacting her mama. At least she hasn’t cut everyone out, I guess.

“Daughter?” Brick questions with a smirk and raised brow, and Gregory winces before admitting, “I see her as mine, but I know that’s a touchy subject for her. She was a daddy’s girl after all, just uh, don’t tell her I claimed her, she’ll kill me.”

I half smile. I know how much Chase meant to Raya, her silver chain she never takes off coming to mind, but somehow, deep down, I think she’d love that he sees her as his daughter.

He’s a good man who has been working for the club since I was in diapers, and she’s lucked out in the stepfather territory, though I know she’d rather have her father back.

“Where is she?!” I demand, not beating around the bush, and Gregory grins and admits, “At work…”

Wait what?

I frown in confusion as Viper asks, “I thought she didn’t work?” and Gregory smirks.

Is that where she’s been on some nights?

Fuck was I wrong about everything over the years?

Confusion fills not just me but the room, but the church door opens again without a knock before I can voice ‘what the fuck does she do’, and the prospect, Kid, who, well, acts like a kid, gasps, “Raya just called, Lake’s at the hospital and is in labor!”

My eyes widen as everyone sits up straight and Viper’s face pales.

Ah shit, looks like questioning Raya is going to have to wait, we have another generation on the way.

Ten minutes later, we all rush into the hospital behind a frantic Viper, his dad right behind him.

“You still mad at me?” Medic asks as we walk through the ER doors. I growl at the idiot and open my mouth to state now is not the time, but I freeze when I see Raya standing near the desk, no longer wearing her white dress, but instead…

What the fuck?

“Raya? What the fuck?” I say in shock, eyeing her outfit, and she groans, dropping her head, her chin hitting her chest as Viper gives her a salute and rushes off into the double doors. The nurses following as they shout for him to come back, clearly not realizing he’s the father.

It doesn’t take a scientist to know why she became a firefighter, but what is confusing is why she never told anyone.

Fuck, does my sister know?

“Brother, what the fuck is that?” I hear Blade state as he grips my arm, not noticing Raya before us, and he jabs my neck tattoo.

Well, it took a while for at least one brother to notice I’ve branded my girl's name on my skin.

“Venom!” Blade snaps again, but I ignore him as Raya and I lock eyes, and I demand the obvious, “Raya, are you a firefighter?”
