Chapter 12

Gideon’s eyes popped open as soon as he felt a soft hand on his thigh and a warm mouth on his dick.

Instinctively, his hand found the back of Glimmer’s head.

“Shit, it’s like that?” He groaned as he marveled at his wife. He had no idea so much freak was up under all that innocence.

Last night, they went round for round. Her little ass thought she was going to sleep after round one.

She had another thing coming though. He woke her up after thirty minutes for round two, and they didn’t stop until they got to round five and collapsed from pure exhaustion after taking a quick shower together.

She hummed her response but didn’t slow her pace. Gideon enjoyed the show for a while until he couldn’t take it anymore. He pulled her up and kissed her passionately before rolling her over so he hovered over her.

“How did you sleep, my love?” he asked as he eased inside of her.

He noticed her wince slightly before she relaxed into him, and he made a mental note to run her a bath after this. He knew that lil pussy was wore the fuck out.

“You know I didn’t sleep at all,” she said before she moaned.

He leaned down and kissed her. He could never get enough of her lips. In between kisses, he said, “You was the one that kept starting with me.”

It wasn’t a full lie. After round two, they kind of took turns initiating the sex, but he loved teasing her.

“Not true,” she said between moans.

“You so pretty. You know that?” She peered up at him with a look that sent shockwaves through his system.

She whispered her thanks, which followed by a moan, which followed by her pussy clenching around his dick.

He groaned into her ear before he licked her neck.

That seemed to push her over the edge. Gideon had become familiar with Glimmer’s body pretty quickly.

He could tell when she was about to cum.

Her legs tightened around him, and she made this cute face that he wished he could capture and look at any time he wanted. “Go ’head, baby. Let that shit go.”

Like a good girl, she came all over his dick as he continued to long stroke her.

Glimmer continued to cling to him until he released his seed deep inside her womb.

They hadn’t talked about having kids together, but he knew she wanted kids.

He did, too, and at this point, he couldn’t picture having kids with anyone else.

He got pissed at the thought of her having kids with someone else.

Last night was a toss-up of him pulling out when he nutted and staying inside her warm pussy. He figured they would have that conversation eventually, but he felt the responsible thing was to get it over with now.

When he rolled off her, he gathered her in his arms and decided to be straight up and just ask her.

“You cool wit’ me hittin’ that good ass pussy raw? We ain’t really talked about that.”

Glimmer rolled to her side and rested her hand on his chest while her head rested on his shoulder.

She smiled lazily as she looked at him. “I mean, I can’t imagine using a condom at this point.

That dick is good with no barrier, just as it was intended.

” Gideon’s dick twitched. Before last night, he never really saw her as being a freak or talking dirty, but Glimmer had a way of constantly surprising him.

He loved the shit. It only made him admire her even more.

She was shy and to herself with most other people, but with him, he got the special-edition Glimmer.

The one nobody else got to see. What man wouldn’t love that? “You worried about kids or something?”

He kissed her forehead as his large hand lazily rubbed her arm. “I ain’t worried at all. I’ll fill you with my babies and be one happy nigga.”

She giggled. “You’re serious?”

He frowned, and he was sure to anyone else he probably looked like a damn killer with his face screwed up like that. But when Glimmer reached up and smoothed out the lines in his face, he grinned. He grabbed her hand and kissed it. He loved that she never seemed intimidated by him like most people.

“Why wouldn’t I be? You’re my wife, and I want kids.”

She shifted slightly. “Well, for now, I’m on the pill. I guess I’m still trying to wrap my head around this whole marriage thing. Just to clarify, . . . this is real? We’re like, real husband and wife?” She shifted again and looked into his eyes.

He chuckled. It didn’t bother him that she was on the pill.

In due time they would have kids. He was confident in that.

For now, he wanted to reassure her, something he would do for the rest of his life if he had to.

“Yeah, baby. This is real. I care about you a lot, and I can’t see myself married to anyone else.

As far as I’m concerned, this marriage is here to stay for as long as you’ll have me. ”

She beamed up at him, which warmed his heart.

“I think I’m having a hard time with it because we didn’t really get to date.

There was no proposal . . . We missed a lot of steps.

” She looked thoughtful for a moment. “But this does feel real. I really care about you, too, Gideon. For the record, . . . I think marrying you is the best thing that’s happened to me. ”

It was Gideon’s turn to beam. This woman had the words to turn him into the softest teddy bear, and she didn’t even realize it.

He nuzzled into her hair and breathed her in for a moment before he spoke. “I have another vow.”

“Lay it on me.” He could hear the smile in her voice.

After laying a kiss on her head, he said, “I vow to court you and date you every day for the rest of our marriage, God willing it’s for a lifetime, to make up for the things we missed before we got married.”

“I look forward to that.”

Gideon did too. They stayed laid up for a while longer before they got up, got in the shower, went another round, and finally got dressed.

Hand in hand, they walked downstairs. It was like another world down there.

There were always people milling about and making a ton of noise.

Gideon loved it, but he’d started to wonder if this place was conducive for a married couple.

As a bachelor, it had been his home. He was a stray with no family of his own the first time he entered this home.

His evil grandmother didn’t count in his mind.

When she succumbed to heart failure years ago, it hurt that the last of his bloodline was gone, but that was the extent of his grieving.

Now, though, he wondered if he’d outgrown this home. It felt right to move in here when they remodeled it for the Vicious Kings, since it was the first real home he’d ever known, but he felt something bigger tugging at his heartstrings lately.

He stopped on the last step, which caused Glimmer to stop too. She looked up at him in concern. “What’s wrong?”

“Do you want to move?”

Her brows knitted together. “What do you mean?”

He looked around. Everyone seemed to be in a bit of a frenzy, but he focused back on Glimmer. “I mean out of the compound. I can find a realtor, and we can look at homes, if you want. Something a little more private.”

It was Glimmer’s turn to look around. She shrugged. “I don’t know. I’ve kind of gotten used to this place.”

The corners of Gideon’s lips turned up slightly. “Think about it.”

She nodded, and he wanted to bend down to kiss her, but Haze appeared before he could.

“Some shit went down last night. We need to call a meeting.” Haze glanced at Glimmer. “No queens allowed. Sorry, sis.”

“Is everything okay?” Glimmer asked with concern lacing her tone.

Gideon knew Haze wasn’t one to lie, so he simply didn’t answer. He just kissed Glimmer’s cheek and nodded toward upstairs. “Go ’head upstairs. I’ll send the queens up there to keep you company.”

Haze moved toward the meeting room, leaving Gideon and Glimmer alone. He hated the way she looked at him with worry in her eyes. There was never any need for her to worry. As her husband, he would take care of everything for her for the rest of their lives.

Before she could say anything, he leaned down and kissed her. “Everything is good, baby. Relax.”

“How do you know?”

“Because I know. Go on upstairs. I’ll order y’all some food. By the time we’re done with the meeting, it’ll be here. Cool?”

She bit her bottom lip but nodded. “Okay.”

He slapped her ass. “Go on.”

Finally, she smiled slightly before she turned and walked back up the stairs. He watched her go before he followed the rest of the Vicious Kings into the meeting room. He tapped on his phone distractedly as he placed an order for breakfast for everyone.

Once everyone was inside, Haze looked directly at Gideon. “We got hit last night after you and Glimmer left.”

The menacing expression that fell onto Gideon’s face chilled the room. He stood up straighter, flexing his full height. “Fuck you mean?”

“Some of Trick’s niggas hit up the bar. It was a whole shootout. All of VK got out okay, but the shit was a mess. A lot of innocent lives were wasted.”

“How you know Trick was behind this shit?” Anger simmered within Gideon. He hadn’t felt like this in a long time, probably since Big Henry was murdered. The fact that Trick had the nerve to go up against the Vicious Kings. That was something no nigga had ever done.

“They was loud about the shit. He wanted us to know what was up,” Haze replied, and then he hesitated slightly before he said, “They say there’s a price on Glimmer’s head.”

Gideon’s jaw clenched tightly. “He was there?”

Haze shook his head. “Pussy ass nigga wasn’t even there. We got a few of his men at the warehouse right now, but they ain’t talkin’.”

“Kill ’em then. Ain’t no use in holdin’ ’em,” Gideon said. His words sounded like a growl.

“What I was thinkin’.” Haze nodded.

Gideon looked at the Vicious Kings, who waited patiently for their next orders. He’d felt the tension as soon as he walked downstairs that morning, and now it made sense. His niggas were pissed off, just like him, and he knew shit was about to get messy as hell.

“So, what we gon’ do?” Gideon asked.

Haze’s jaw clenched. “Ain’t shit else to do but gear up for war. Fuck all this waitin’ shit. I want that nigga’s head.”

Gideon nodded slowly, glad that he and Haze had always been on the same page.

Thoughts of rage filtered through his mind as he thought about what would have happened if Glimmer was still at the bar when all this went down.

They were after her. He never would have allowed them to take her, .

. . but still. He knew he could never be too safe or too careful when it came to her.

He got lost in his thoughts as the club went over the next steps. Gideon didn’t care too much about none of that. All he cared about was making sure Glimmer was kept safe.
