Chapter 5

Axel Creed Has Invaded My Life

Scarlett

After meeting with Sasha and Dani yesterday, I'm so excited about the new apartment. The vote was unanimous. Dani and The Jake Ryan are the cutest couple, and you can tell how much they love each other.

I inwardly cringe when the awkward situation from yesterday comes to the forefront of my mind.

When Axel walked into the apartment behind me, everyone smiled.

I'm going to kill Toby. He works fast. Axel didn't even message me or come by my apartment last night.

Well, unless it was after I fell asleep.

If you've never heard the term sleeps like the dead, but then you watched me sleep, you'd get it in no time.

Walking into Calculus, I sigh in relief—no Axel Creed.

Today's a good day for a good day. Curling my hair this morning in case he hijacked another one of my classes was still a great decision.

I thought it was better to look semi-fabulous if he was in this class so that he could witness just what he's been missing.

If last year taught me anything, it's that getting to class early the first few weeks of school has its perks, and sitting in the very back row is one of them.

Taking out my phone, I begin researching my new blog topic for the online school paper that I'm Editor and Chief of.

It's twenty minutes until class starts, so there's plenty of time.

Next month, I'm doing a series on the influx of Cajun cuisine within the Austin city limits.

Seven restaurants are up on my radar and will need to be tried before my deadline.

Tan fingertips gently brush my alabaster forearm, making me shiver.

My body feels this weird energy when he's around, almost like my soul knows who he is and greedily wants him all to her whore self.

That will never happen. He is Axel “Rabies” Creed, and he doesn't like you, Scarlett. He’s just playing games.

Slowly looking up, my hungry gaze swallows up every inch of him, from his tattooed sleeves to his knowing eyes.

My inspection of his well-chiseled chest took longer than necessary, but you can't blame a girl when an Adonis is in front of her.

I should be embarrassed or blushing, but a sudden bout of fatigue leaves me with no energy to summon any such emotion.

Axel is the magnet, me the piece of steel.

And we've no other option than to be drawn to each other.

What the hell is happening to me? To us?

Both of us lean forward before good sense can stop the actions. He feels this strange connection, too; his breathing is shallow, and those smooth caramel eyes are boring intently into mine. He takes his knuckles and firmly rubs my cheek. He's not gentle, and I don't want him to be.

What are we doing? I shake my head because I need to leave this trance Axel has me under.

My gaze slowly moves around the room, and thankfully, it appears everyone else is too engrossed in their phones to have witnessed this strange encounter.

Ignoring him could be an answered prayer.

Then maybe he will sit somewhere else. I take out my journal and start outlining points for the new cuisine blog, tensing up as soon as he jumps in the desk beside me.

“You just going to ignore me now?” He asks sweetly.

I press my lips tightly together. So much for hoping he would go away. “That was the plan.”

“And here I thought we were becoming best friends.” He smiles lazily.

“Umm...more like mutual acquaintances, maybe.” Moving my desk further away from his has become urgent because Axel smells too damn good, life is not fair, and he is stupid!

He gives me a smirk. “You always play this hard to get?”

My heart skips a beat. Is Axel flirting with me? I roll my eyes at him. “Do you always send mixed signals? I only play hard to get with guys that have the nickname of Rabies.”

He grins. “There is only one, Rabies, Scarlett.”

I shrug. “Not sure I'd be bragging about that, Axel.”

He gives me a sensual glare. “Careful, Red. The Big Bad Wolf's bark is just as bad as his bite.”

My mouth goes dry because I remember his bite and the familiar dull ache starts between the junction of my thighs.

Never have mere words affected me this way.

It's not just his looks and body, either.

It's him, his essence, his dominance. My submissive nature is drawn to him.

Axel is a man in every capacity of the word.

He takes his thumb and rubs the length of my bottom lip.

“Such pretty pouty lips, Wallflower. When the time is right, I'm going to kiss you so senseless that your smart mouth won't be able to come out and play.

But we will play, and you won't be able to walk for days.” My eyes widen at his proclamation, and my entire body turns into flames from the inside out.

Only the men that I write about in my stories talk like that.

“Would you like that, Scarlett?” His voice is smooth as velvet.

My body aches for him to continue. Against my will, I give him an honest answer. My voice is hoarse and drenched in carnal desire. “Yes.”

“Yes, what?” He leans forward and brings my desk back to where it touches his.

My heart knows exactly what it wants. “Yes, please.”

He bites his lower lip. “Such a good little girl.”

I've always been a walking contradiction.

My independent streak is about a mile wide, but the more sensuous parts deep within me yearn to yield to another—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Never have those words been whispered out of my mouth.

And thinking about them now scares the shit out of me.

That's a lot of power to transfer over to somebody.

We're both startled as the professor walks in and greets everyone in the auditorium. We were caught in a lustful haze and hadn't even realized the other student's arrival. Mortification slips in as we look around the room. However, once again, they seem oblivious to our little exchange.

Axel firmly squeezes my plump knee and whispers in my ear, sending a blaze of fiery darts straight down to my pussy. I may combust on the spot. He quickly nibbles the bottom of my ear with his teeth. “This isn't over, Scar. I've got plans for you yet.”

I stare at the side of his face for a full minute.

He gives nothing away. As fleeting as the moment was, how can you basically suck on a person's ear lobe and then act like nothing happened mere seconds before.

That is unfathomable to me. Axel's hand is still gripping my knee, and he only moves it when my face turns towards the professor.

The row we are sitting in is short, with only four seats.

Luckily, no one dared to sit by us. There would be no way they wouldn't have seen our little interactions.

Turning my attention to Dr. Abrams, I begin taking notes. Sucking at math is my specialty, so this class may be the death of me. However, Quinn's ain't quitters, and after this one, no more arithmetic courses are required for my major. Which is a damn good thing.

Axel subtly stares at me throughout the session. He doesn't touch my thigh again but does play with my hair. I long to run my fingers through his golden-brown tresses, so soft and inviting the way it hangs past his shoulders.

As class ends, I'm torn between waiting for Axel or getting the hell out of there but choosing to be a chicken is the easier choice out of the two.

From my purview, he's staring after me but doesn't try to stop my escape, and I am beyond thankful for that.

Devising a plan in my mind, it's best for me if we have limited contact from here on out.

Protecting my heart is what needs to be done.

What game is he playing? I've never heard of him being cruel to someone, so I don't think he has a bet he can get me to fuck him or something adolescent like that. Plus, he could have already had me by now. My willpower is more robust than most, but I wouldn't have stopped him.

After today and my reaction to him, drastic measures must be taken.

He's a man whore, and my feelings cannot be turned on and off so quickly.

My stupid ass would fall for him, and Axel doesn't fall at all.

The problem is the whole stalking me for two years is messing with my head right now.

It makes me believe things that just aren't true.

Maybe he wants to see what it's like sleeping with a bigger girl, like an experiment or something.

You know, like testing out the more pushin' for the cushion saying an all.

But she is not me, and I am not her. Inwardly groaning because I'll have to put a damn chastity belt on to keep from giving it to him.

My pussy is still on fire from his hand groping my knee.

Just my knee. What would it feel like to have him inside me?

Looking at the time, disappointment hits me hard.

Someone called in sick, and they've asked me to work.

There is no time for relief, but tonight, his name will be on my lips when my sweet release is found.

***

I've never grabbed a thigh that big, and I loved it. Fuck me.

-Axel Creed

Watching her leave makes my signature smirk, as she called it, come out for all to see.

Run, little Red run, but you won't be able to outrun me.

My feet start to chase after her, but ultimately decide against it.

She needs a little time to process, and so do I.

I sat with a hardon through the majority of class and trying to hide this shit is hard enough.

Wanting her fiercely, not only sexually but just her, all of her is killing me.

Even that smart mouth of hers. Thoughts of her submitting to me have my mind almost shutting down.

I need to be near her, and that scares the hell out of me.

It's no longer a want. It's a full-blown obsessive need.

Did I come on too strong too fast? It's not in my personality to do anything mediocre. My body calms and I begin to move down the hallway. We need to have another chat. Tonight.

While putting up her notebook, her Java Jerry's uniform was inside. She must have to work today. I'll head over after the gym. If she agrees to a relationship with me, she will be all mine. Who am I? I never thought I would be the one talking about a relationship. I need to be with her though, to take care of her and make sure she’s okay at all times. I want to learn what she’s comfortable with and want her to know everything about me.

This will be a process, I know that, but I want her.

Shaking my head, I can't think about this now. My boner will return, and that damn Fearless page will have a picture of it on full display. Tonight can't come soon enough.
