Chapter 6

Jealousy

Okay, I've lived on campus for two years now and have frequented Java Jerry's on the daily. Nobody makes caffeine taste as good as they do, and no Fearless member has ever been spotted there until tonight. Scar Q, you are on our radar now. Why, you ask?

Axel

Freshly showered, I walk into Java Jerrys like it's mine, like she's mine.

My nerves are on edge, but you wouldn't know it.

A Creed never shows emotions. I've got a lot riding on this conversation.

Scarlett could say no to my proposition, or she could say yes.

The ball will be in her court. A submissive always holds the most power.

Either way, she's mine, and I'll have to deal with a vanilla relationship. There are worse things.

Spotting that curvy body quickly and watching her with sheer intensity may be my new favorite thing.

Her movements are graceful, like music is playing, and she's the only one privy to the beat.

Scarlett seems almost delicate like I could break her.

What a sobering thought. She stiffens as her customer walks away.

Giving my best devil-may-care grin because even though Scarlett tries to fight it, darlin', it's still happening.

Scarlett’s reaction to my presence doesn't bother me.

She has every right to be apprehensive. My Wallflower probably thinks I'm playing her for a one-night stand, but no, that wouldn't be enough.

Nights and even days have been planned out for us.

After tonight, everything will thankfully be out in the open, and we can end this game.

“May I help you?” Scarlett utters through gritted teeth when it's finally my turn.

“Careful Wallflower. Smart mouths get punished.” Oh, what I want to do to that pouty heart-shaped mouth. Like sticking my dick so far inside that it makes her eyes water.

She rolls her eyes. “You promise?”

I bite my bottom lip and lean over the counter. “How about you bend over, and I'll spank that sweet ass of yours right now in front of God and everybody.”

Scarlett's mouth opens in disbelief, but her eyes mirror mine in pools of desire. I smile broadly because the mood needs to be lightened and scaring her away can't happen. “Listen, can we hang out after you get off?”

“I don't think that's a good idea.” She whispers softly.

Licking my lips slowly, I accept the challenge. “Scarlett, stop postponing the inevitable because, make no mistake, you will be mine.”

Her eyes widen. “Okay.”

I take it as a good sign that she's rendered almost speechless. “Okay, what time can I pick you up?”

The guy who lives down the hall from Toby comes to stand beside her.

The motherfucker that kissed her forehead.

I've seen them together before, but until the kiss, I never had a reason to confront him.

My expression turns deadly when I see his arm touching what's mine.

Surrendering, he holds his hands up. “Calm down, you big, strong, beautiful man.

Any chance you'd let me climb you like a tree?”

Making us both laugh, I answer. “Sorry, but not a chance. Scarlett has my full attention.”

Her mouth forms an “o” in surprise. Her friend, not missing a beat, puts his arm around her shoulders. “I told you, Scar. You owe me five bucks.”

Holding out my hand for him to shake. “Since you're her friend. Let me introduce myself.”

He shakes mine firmly. “No introduction needed. I'm her BEST friend, Jared, and I'll allow whatever you're doing because she needs some action.”

“I agree, she does,” I reply, with a wink.

Scarlett plants her hands on her hips. “I'll kill both of you and dispose of the bodies. No one will ever know.”
