Chapter 13

Don't stop, then, but you're still not getting in my panties!

Scarlett Quinn is a savage. Just ask Bambi. We're all watching, Scar Q. No other girl has kept Axel Creed's attention for longer than a night. She has, but can it last? The odds are definitely stacked up against you, honey.

Axel

Without another glance, we skate toward our friends. “You're beautiful, you know?”

She smiles up at me. “You're sweet. Thank you.”

“I'm not just being sweet. You're beautiful.” And I mean it when I say it to her.

“Thank you, Axel.” She grabs my hand and laces our fingers together.

A loud cheer erupts from our group as I kiss her full on the lips.

She hides her face in my chest. Which is cute, and Jaxon hands us both a drink.

It feels nice to have her close to my chest. Jake calls me a pussy, which is funny, because yeah, maybe I am.

We skate with the group and just with each other.

She damn near almost takes my breath away.

When Scarlett asked me earlier if I was scared, the answer to her question in the way she meant was no, but I am scared—scared of her.

Scared of these feelings and scared of the power she could eventually wield over me.

My whole life has been planned out for me.

I'm supposed to live my life as a bachelor, much like my father before me and his before him.

We don't do relationships. We're Creeds.

We don't fall in love. It's been drilled into my head since I was a little kid that women come a dime a dozen.

Hell, when it's time for us to produce an heir, it's an unwritten rule in my family that we find a beautiful model and get her pregnant.

She signs all sorts of documents, gets her money, and politely leaves.

I hadn't even seen my mother since I was thirteen, and then it was only because she wanted more money.

That's the night my trust issues started.

People outside your circle only want to use you, and they can't be trusted.

Does Scarlett have my complete trust? No, not yet.

But with each passing day, she earns a little more and more.

I look over at her, she's laughing at something that little shit Brody is saying. Wait, when did he show up? I don't fully understand what this is between us, but Creeds weren't taught to share. Being the only child and all doesn't help matters. That little fucker needs to back off. “Brody, is it?”

He looks up at me, and I don't even try to hide my smirk. It boosts my ego because he has to look up at me. Jackass! That makes me stand with perfect posture, which makes me even taller. “Yeah, man.” He holds out his hand for me to shake.

I wasn’t going to shake his hand, but the look Scarlett gives me determines his fate.

The sweet taste of her pussy has put me in a fucking fantastic mood, so playing nice won't be that hard.

Those good vibes will continue as long as he doesn't flirt or touch her again. My grip is overly firm as we shake hands. My grin grows when he winces. Brody has never been my favorite person ever since he dated Melanie Thomspon. Melanie and I hooked up and I don’t know if it was while they were dating or not, but it solidified my disdain for him.

Jake and I were very similar in the whoring capacity, but he's happier than he’s ever been, and Dani is to thank for that.

It made me start thinking that there was more to life than sex, football, and alcohol.

Cuddling with Scarlett last night is in my top ten best things to do in bed. The other nine are all sexual.

Brody walks off, and I decide to shoot my shot. “Want to leave?”

She laughs at something Toby says before turning her attention back to me. “And go where?”

I smirk. “My place.”

She stares at me for a minute, uncertainty crosses her face, and then she smiles. I smile back because, yeah, she's coming. “I have an early shift at Java Jerry's. Can we do my place this week instead?”

“We'll stay at your place tonight, then mine the rest of the weekend.” In other words, my bed is bigger.

“Okay. On one condition.” She smiles.

I throw up my arms and let out a victorious yelp! “Anything.”

“On the way there, you have to sing at the top of your lungs with me to the radio. Nonnegotiable.” She folds her arms over her chest and doesn't realize how cute she is when she's being demanding. Not to mention, her actions give me a good view of her cleavage. It's a win-win for me.

I kiss the top of her head. I love car karaoke. “Let's do it!”

“And don't forget, I get to pick the music!” She scrunches her nose.

I laugh. “Nope. You're straight out of conditions.”

“That's mean.” She pouts.

I shrug my shoulders. “Daddy didn't raise a nice boy.” Literally.

“Well, my daddy taught me to only go after the nice ones.” She smirks.

“Nice boys are overrated. They won't let you come all over their faces.” My smirk is smirkier than hers.

She blushes a pretty pink. “Is that so?”

“Yup. It's a travesty, really.” I answer confidently. She licks her lips, making me want to devour every inch of her. If she only knew how dominant I can be, how I will be once she's comfortable with me.

“Can you please...?”

My dick stirs. Down, boy, this could be a trick. “Please, what?”

She grins up at me mischievously. “Please...”

I'm hanging on her every word. “Please....”

“STOP being a pervert!”

I laugh. Damn. “I can, but I won't be as much fun.”

She gives me a wink. “Don't stop then, but you're still not getting in my panties!”

“I've already been in your panties, and I don't plan on stopping now.” Kissing her forehead. She smiles.

We say goodbye to everyone and start heading back to my truck.

Honestly, I can't wait. Besides with Scarlett, I've never spent a whole night with anyone before.

Well, there was that one time, but being passed out drunk doesn't really count.

Tonight was fun, and it was primarily spent sober. Maybe this is a new me. Do I like that?

As we try to leave the party, nobody cares.

Janet blocks our way with her clones, Bambi included.

I'm still pissed by her earlier behavior.

Staying calm may become an issue. Breathe in, breathe out.

My granddad taught me that a temper can get you in more trouble than it is worth.

Scarlett stiffens beside me. Everybody knows that Janet is her cousin, which sucks for her because that girl is a raging bitch.

How anyone in her family would pick her over Scarlett is beyond me.

I hope she lets me meet them. I'll set them straight.

“Excuse us,” I say politely. They need to move, or the next thing that comes out of my mouth won't be as pleasant.

Janet bores a hole through Scarlett's skull. Nope, not going to have any of that shit. There is a new Sheriff in town, bitch. As far as I'm concerned, she'll never be bullied or disrespected by anyone again. She's under my protection now. “Where're you going?”

The vein in my temple starts throbbing. That only happens when my temper is about to reach its limit, and I'm about to fuck some shit up.

That's the top of the gauge in my, oh, shit, meter.

It's my sign to get the hell away from whatever is causing me stress.

I wait to see if Scarlett will handle these nuisances or if she'll leave it up to me. Oh, I hope it's me.

“It's not any of your business, Janet.” She calmly replies.

“It is my business. You're my little cousin, Scarlett, and I won't have you being taken advantage of.” She rolls her eyes at me.

Janet fixes me with a look, and I outright laugh in her face. “Are you still mad that I wouldn't fuck you? Because it's never going to happen. You know that, right?”

Scarlett gives me the biggest smile I have ever received. Her smile makes me want to slay ten-thousand dragons as long as she promises to always look at me like that. Bambi moves Janet out of the way, a ballsy move for an underling. “If you leave with her, we're finished, Axel!”

My answering laugh is cold as steel. “I didn't know we ever started.” She huffs loudly and stomps off.

The bright-colored leotard clan follows behind.

A look of disbelief etched on all of their severely made-up faces.

And Janet's in the back of the line. Uh-oh.

Trouble is brewing within the hierarchy.

Putting my arm around Scarlett's waist, I direct her towards the door.

Her waist is larger than anyone that I've ever gone home with before.

She's different in every extent of the word, personality included, and it's been damn near perfect.

My heart slams down to my feet at the realization of just how strong my feelings for her are.

The epiphany hitting me directly between the eyes.

Caring for Scarlett the way I do was never a part of the plan.

Lusting after her, yes. Dominating her, yes.

Make her fall for me, if I'm being honest, maybe. But falling for her, never.

***

The look on Janet's face when he told her that he'd never sleep with her was priceless. Who said bad boys couldn't sometimes play the hero?

-Scarlett

The fact that Janet was trying to come to my aid is laughable.

And the fact that he has NEVER slept with her is my favorite.

Honestly, that thought had reared its ugly head about a million times.

It’s good to know that despite being promiscuous, he has standards.

And that he saw Janet for what she truly is, rotten.

“What are you thinking about over there?” He says, bringing me out of my thoughts.

Looking over at him, I give him a toothy grin.

“Honestly, you haven't slept with Janet, and the look on her face when you said it would never happen.” A giggle escapes my lips, and he places his enormous hand on my thigh.

The same fingers tapping on my legs were in me only hours before. Well, this just got interesting.

His voice is strained as he looks over in my direction. “I'll give you a million dollars right now if you tell me what drastic turn those thoughts took.”

I laugh. “I don't want your money, sir.” Placing my face in my hands because hiding is the only way I'll get this out. “But if you must know, I was thinking about your hand.”

Axel tightens his grip. “What about my hand?”

I shake my head. And his hand moves up closer to the apex of my thighs. Then, he withdraws completely. He shrugs when my face turns to his. “That's mean, Axel.”

He gives me a look. “No, what's mean is you're not being completely honest with me.

My trust issues have trust issues. I'm fucked up, Wallflower, from things I have never told anyone.

So, if this arrangement is going to work, we both have to be truthful with one another.

Things in our pasts don't matter, but the here and now does, and I want to know everything.”

“Will you be just as honest with me?” I inquire.

He scoffs. “Have you ever known me to be anything but a blunt asshole?”

That makes me grin. “You got me there.”

He gives me a devilish grin and runs his hand up the seam of my leggings. “No, baby, I've got you here.”

Oh, fuck me, literally.
