Epilogue 1-Amber

One month later…

After we got together, Kane wanted to get married right away. He literally wanted to have a courthouse wedding the next day. I explained to him that I only planned on getting married once, so I wanted a nice wedding with all of our friends there.

He agreed to give me the wedding of my dreams, but I only had a month to pull it together. It has been challenging, to say the least, but I had a lot of help. Aurora, Avery, and Audrey helped a lot, as well as my friend, Charlotte. She came all the way from North Carolina for my wedding. She even came in a few days early to help me and visit her mom’s ex, Clayton.

As I get ready to walk down the aisle toward the man of my dreams, I am so excited. I take one last look in the mirror. I am glowing with happiness. My sparkly white dress clings to my curves in the best way possible. It’s sexy, but not sleazy. Underneath, I have on some beautiful lingerie. I can’t wait until my new husband rips it off of me.

The Abbott sisters knock on the door, telling me it’s time. They are my bridesmaids, while their husbands are Kane’s groomsmen. We’ve all become close friends, plus I don’t think their husbands would let anyone else escort their wives down the aisle.

When it’s my turn, I walk by myself to Kane. Since my dad and brother are both gone, I didn’t want anyone else to give me away. Kane’s eyes light up when he sees me. When I reach him, he takes my hand and gives me a sweet kiss. The clergyman clears his throat and the ceremony begins. “Dearly beloved…”

A short time later, we are husband and wife. Kane kisses me passionately, ignoring the whoops and hollers of our friends. “Love you so much, baby girl. You officially belong to me now.”

“And you belong to me. Love you, too.”

We make the rounds, cut the cake, and finally get to sit down and have a bite to eat. After that, we spend a while dancing.

“I can’t believe you’re finally my wife,” he says, holding me close on the dance floor.

“And you’re my husband,” I grin.

“You know I’m never letting you go.”

“Well, I should hope not. I really don’t want to be a single mom.”

It takes several seconds for what I said to sink in. “What?” He stops dancing. “You’re pregnant?”

“Yes. I’m pregnant,” I say, smiling. He pulls me close, and tears leak down his face.

“Baby girl, I didn’t think I could be any happier. I can’t believe we’re having a baby.”

I laugh. “Well, you shouldn’t be too surprised. You have been trying your best to impregnate me.”

He grins. “That’s very true. How about we go up to our hotel room? We’ve got a lot to celebrate.”

“I thought you’d never ask.”
