Chapter Six — Alex

What the hell just happened?

I look around and quietly gather my clothes. Or what’s left of them, at least. Callum ripped most of them.

I hear water running and realize he’s in the shower. Did he seriously just leave to go shower? I’m stunned. I don’t know what to do.

On one hand, I just had the most mind-blowing orgasm of my life. On the other hand, what Callum just did felt kind of violating. Or, I’m not really sure. I don’t even know how I feel about it.

I call an Uber as I get dressed and try to replay everything from that evening. I try to pinpoint the moment it all went wrong, but it’s hard to say. He seemed quiet during the movie, but he had also seemed weird earlier today.

Maybe I’m just overthinking everything. I mean, we did have a deal, after all. Maybe I’m the one who was wrong here for thinking this was more than just a game.

The more I think about it, the more foolish I feel. But at the same time, I can’t help but want him. I feel like I can’t trust myself or my feelings anymore.

I get into the Uber and try to stop thinking about it, but I can’t. I drift off to sleep that night, the same thoughts playing in my head.
