Chapter 8
Kain
I watched Lexi as she went to a low cabinet and squatted down to open a door. Fuck, her ass stretched the fabric of the joggers tight across her curvy body, leaving nothing to the imagination. My dick throbbed in my pants, getting hard again.
I want to watch you squat down on my dick like that. Feel your pussy slide up and down as you drip on my thighs.
I adjusted myself in my pants. This was starting to be an issue tonight.
As soon as I could, I stepped away to collect myself. I needed to call my boss and tell him I was fucked for the rest of the night. He just didn’t need to know I was hoping it would be in more ways than one.
I walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. I pulled out my cell and dialed Ghouls.
“Hey! Thank you for calling Ghouls Pizza! What horror can we delight you with tonight?”
Damn, Tiff was always too damn cheerful. There were no guesses why Jared had hired her to run phones at night. She was the best hostess he could have ever asked for.
“Yo, it’s me, Kain.”
“O-oh, hi, Kain. What are you doing, calling the front?” Tiff asked over the line. Her tone changed with me, and I knew why.
She was always hoping to use me to sleep with the drummer of my band. Too bad he had zero interest in perky, over-the-top girls like her. She didn’t stand a chance.
“Tell Jared a tree fell, and I can’t get out of this neighborhood until someone comes and clears it. Looks like an all-night thing. He’s gonna need to call someone to fill in for me.”
“So, why didn’t you just call Jared’s cell and tell him?”
I shifted in my seat. “Because I didn’t want to hear him bitch at me. Be good and tell him for me. Maybe I’ll give you a free ticket to one of the next shows.”
Her squeal was so loud that I had to pull the phone away from my ear.
“You got it!”
And with that, she hung up on me, and I knew I was free for the evening. But just to be safe, I turned my phone on silent before slipping it into my pocket. I could hear some rummaging around in the kitchen, then the sound of a soda can opening and being poured. So, I got up and walked back in there.
“Do you want some ice in your drink, Kain?” Lexi asked me as I rounded the corner.
Fuck, the way she said my name, elongating the “ain” was driving me mad. I’d never had anyone say it like her. And, man, did I want to hear her say it more. No, fuck that. I wanted to hear her moan and scream it as I had her coming around my cock. Because every time she said it, my dick threatened to break my damn zipper on my pants.
“Sure. Ice sounds great, baby.”
She raised an eyebrow as she rubbed her lips together gently. Then, she turned and opened the freezer, quickly grabbing some ice before closing the door.
“Okay, I need to ask you something. You’re just a pizza delivery guy, right? You’re not going to do anything crazy here in my house?”
“Define crazy. If you’re asking me if I’m going to rob you or hurt you, that would be pretty dumb since I can’t move my car from your driveway. So, no, I’m not going to do anything crazy.”
She let out a sigh, and I chuckled, which pulled her attention back to me as she dropped the ice into the glass.
“But… I’m not just a pizza delivery guy.”
I walked slowly around the counter, and she turned to face me and backed up. I followed her through the kitchen, stalking her until her back bumped into another countertop, and then I paused, inches from her body. I reached my hand out and brushed a piece of hair from her face.
“I’m also the lead singer in a band.”
Her breathing increased as I let my hand trail down her cheek to her neck. I didn’t squeeze it as much as I wanted to. No, I flashed a smile and pulled my hand away before turning and walking over to my drink. I grabbed it and drank half of it. I could hear her exhale from here.
“Oh. That’s pretty cool.”
I glanced back to see her silently smack her forehead. She caught me looking and blushed.
“I’m sorry. I’m not myself tonight. Probably just the storm and the power being out, ruining the plans I had, that’s throwing me off.”
Now, she had me even more curious about her. Because if her plans weren’t getting off with some random guy online, what else could they have been?
“Did you have some big plans with someone tonight?”
She blushed at that one.
I chuckled. “Sorry if I ruined a date.”
She walked over and took a drink of her wine. “The only date I had tonight was with my couch, this pizza and wine, and a Scream movie marathon I was in the middle of. And now that the power is out, you’re probably saving me from what would have been a really boring and disappointing night.”
I drank some more before turning and leaning against the counter next to her. “Well, glad to be the hero for once.”
She opened her mouth to say something—probably going to be a sassy little freak—but she promptly snapped her mouth shut before turning to look at me.
“Anyway, it looks like you might be stuck here all night, so you are welcome to stay in the guest room. Just let me know when you want to turn in, and I’ll show you where it’s at and get you another flashlight because I doubt the power will be on at all tonight with that big tree going down.”
I tipped my glass toward her. “I appreciate it. But the couch is fine. No need to go out of your way for a stranger.”
She shook her head. “No way. That couch is not a good sleeper. I have an extra bed, and you are welcome to use it. Now, let’s eat this pizza before it gets cold. I’m starving.”
