Chapter 87

Jennifer immediately stepped forward. "Doctor, how is he?"

The doctor was respectful in his tone. "Mrs. Jennifer Harrison, Mr. Harrison, please don't worry. Jude is fine now."

Upon hearing this, Jennifer immediately breathed a sigh of relief, and Victoria, at the back of the crowd, relaxed, her tense expression softening.

Sarah happened to see her expression and fell into deep thought.

Henry's voice was deep and serious. "Do you know what caused the allergic reaction?"

The doctor replied, "Jude is allergic to strawberries. We found half–digested strawberries in his stomach."

Jennifer's sharp gaze immediately landed on Victoria's face. "It's all your fault! If it weren't for you, how could Jude be allergic to strawberries?"

Victoria furrowed her brows. "Mrs. Jennifer Harrison, that's an unreasonable accusation. I'm allergic to strawberries, too. Should I start blaming someone for that?"

She gave a mocking glance, adding, "Jude is already five years old. His strawberry allergy shouldn't be a secret by now!"

"Let's go back to the room," Henry said coldly. The nurses pushed the bed into the room, and the doctor gave some final instructions regarding Jude's care and diet before leaving.

Jennifer's face remained sour as she pointed at Victoria. "Leave. I don't want to see you."

"Alright then." Victoria turned to leave.

Seeing Victoria leave on her own, Jennifer not only felt not relief, but her anger grew even more.

"Stop!" Henry's deep voice cut through the tension.

Victoria turned back to him. "What is it?"

Henry's deep eyes fixed on her. "You stay here and take care of him."

"I object!" Jennifer immediately stood up. "She's lost her memory, hasn't she? There's no way she'll be able to take care of Jude properly. I should stay."

"Mom, if you could have taken care of Jude, this wouldn't have happened tonight," Henry responded coldly.

Jennifer froze, her face stiffening as she looked at him, unable to believe her ears.

"Henry," Sarah spoke up gently at just the right moment, her voice soft. "Mrs. Jennifer Harrison is obviously very worried about Jude. After everything that's happened, your words must have really upset her."

Henry, however, replied in an even colder tone, "It's late. You should go and rest."

Sarah bit her lip lightly and then began to turn her wheelchair to leave.

"Ms. Miller..."

Just then, a faint voice echoed from the hospital bed.

Everyone in the room turned to look, and they saw that Jude had woken up, his weak eyes looking directly at Sarah.

She immediately moved her wheelchair closer to the bed and gently grasped his small hand. "I'm here, sweetheart. Are you feeling any better?"

Jude blinked weakly, and his gaze flickered from Victoria to Sarah. He whispered, "I feel bad."

Victoria's fingers curled slightly, but she pretended to remain calm. "Can I leave now?"

Jude clearly needed Sarah by his side. And Jennifer didn't want to see Victoria. She felt completely unnecessary. There was no reason for Henry to insist on keeping her here.

But instead, Henry coldly said, "You can't leave. You'll take care of him until he fully recovers."

At this point, Sarah spoke again, "Henry, I'll take care of Jude. Mrs. Harrison must have other things to attend to."

"Your leg is still injured." Henry's gaze softened as he looked at Sarah. "It's not convenient for you to take care of him. It's late, go and rest."

Jude then spoke up, "Yes, Ms. Miller. You should go rest. She's my mom, and she should take care of me."

Victoria's beautiful brows immediately furrowed, and her lips pressed into a thin line, clearly displeased.

"What does he mean by "I should"?" she thought.

Jude's words made her angry.

The atmosphere in the hospital room was tense, with Jennifer glaring at Victoria, still blaming her for being there.

At that moment, Victoria couldn't have wished more for Jennifer to force her out. She really wanted to leave as quickly as possible!

Jennifer said, "Jude, I'll come to see you tomorrow."

"Alright."

Victoria's face was full of helplessness.

Sarah smiled gently. "Jude, if you need anything, just tell me. If anything is bothering you, you can talk to me."

"Okay."

With that, they all left, and the room seemed less crowded.
