Extract - Plundered by the Pack

Jared sat and then Noah was out of the room with the others, leaving him alone. His heart started to race as the reality of his situation hit him. He didn’t really know where he was. His car was still broken, phone still dead.

And he’d…

He groaned, putting his head in his hands. On one level, he knew there was nothing wrong with what he’d done. He’d wanted it, Travis had wanted it, they’d all…

“Fuck,” he muttered, and almost leapt out of his skin when heavy hands landed on his shoulders.

“Relax,” Sawyer said, and heat curled through Jared’s belly. “You’ve not done anything wrong.”

Jared twisted in his grip. “I… I know, but—”

One hand moved to cover Jared’s mouth. Jared frowned up at him and he was sure something around the corner of Sawyer’s eyes softened just a fraction.

“No buts,” he said. “I mean it. Where are your keys?”

Keys? Jared’s eyes widened, and he slid his hand into his pocket, fishing them out. Their fingers brushed when Jared passed them over and he was sure he wasn’t imagining the way Sawyer’s eyes darkened at the contact.

His hand fell away from Jared’s mouth. For a heartbeat, they were both looking at each other, and then Sawyer leaned in closer.

“When I’m back, you’re mine,” he said lowly, and Jared swallowed hard.

“Yes,” he replied. It wasn’t a question, and he didn’t need it to be. The doubts he’d had before were gone. Everything about this felt right on some intrinsic level.

Jared had doubted his instincts before, and it hadn’t ended well. If he trusted them now…

The corner of Sawyer’s mouth turned up. He reached out and rubbed his thumb over Jared’s lower lip.

“Good boy,” he said, and Jared whined. “Play nicely with the others now.”
