CHAPTER EIGHT

Brian

My cock presses against her thigh, and my jeans have a strangle hold on my balls. There’s barely room to breathe, let alone move my ass. But Lynn’s insistent and so is the big guy between my legs.

She hooks her thumbs through my belt loops and shimmies my jeans over my ass. I hope like hell no one passes by and sees my ass in the air. But one look at Lynn and her satisfied grin tells me it would all be worth it.

I pull her onto my lap and she hovers above me, straddling my thighs, her breasts swaying.

She reaches for my cock, wraps her hands around it, and guides me to her slick center.

She sinks down slowly, and I push inside, stretching and filling her.

Sweat builds along my greedy brow, and for a second, she holds still.

Our eyes lock, and it’s surreal. What I’ve waited for, wanted the most, is becoming a reality.

She moves first, slowly before building into a rhythm. I meet her thrust for thrust, rocking the whole truck. She claws at my shoulders, and moans. When she arches her back and grinds against me, I know she’s close.

I grab her hips and slam into her, faster, deeper. I nuzzle her neck and groan, trying to hold back my release.

“Come for me, baby.”

And she does.

It’s a blur, hot and sticky. Her whole body convulses as she chokes on my name. Her hot pussy pulses around me, clutching me like a velvet glove. I bury my face in her neck and blow my wad, and she milks me, taking every last drop.

We’re loud, obscene, and perfect together.

Lynn stays tucked beside me, her breathing returning to normal as I run my fingers through her hair. All the fight has gone out of her, and for once, we’re not exchanging barbs.

And it feels too damn good.

I brush a strand of hair away from her face. There’s a softness in her eyes that I’ve rarely seen. No walls or irritation, just pure Lynn, comfortable in my arms.

I could get used to this. Hell, I already am.

“We should talk about this.” I barely get the words out when her body stiffens. I feel the mood change before I see it on her face. “What?”

“Nothing.” She pulls away, and straightens herself, suddenly unable to look me in the eye. “It’s just... this was crazy. It shouldn’t have happened.”

My stomach tightens. “That’s bullshit.”

I stare at her as she puts as much space between us as the cab allows. She lets out a breath and drags both hands through her hair.

“Just look at us. We can’t have a conversation without fighting. We say horrible things to each other. Twenty minutes ago, we were practically screaming at each other.”

“And?” I say, hoisting my ass off the seat to pull up my pants.

“And then we...” She gestures vaguely between us before buttoning her shirt. “This is exactly the kind of mess I get myself into. You’ve said it yourself. I rush into things without thinking. So, now I’m thinking.”

I grab my shirt from the floorboard and yank it over my head. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

“I make bad decisions. You know that better than anyone.” She keeps talking as she puts herself back together.

“So now I’m one of your bad decisions.” I shake my head and mumble under my breath. “Un-fucking-believable.”

Her head snaps toward me. “See? This is what I mean.” She shoves hair away from her face. “You’re Logan’s best friend. We’ve known each other forever, and half the time, we act like we can’t stand each other. That’s not exactly the foundation of a healthy relationship. Trust me. I know.”

Relationship. For half a second, the word gives me hope.

Then she kills it.

“This doesn’t have to mean anything,” she says, buckling her seat belt.

I stare at her as she avoids my eyes. Maybe this didn’t mean anything to her, but it meant everything to me.

About time I faced facts. I blew my shot, and this might be all I ever get with Lynn.

Who’s the screw up now?
