Chapter 12

“That’s right, my little fighter. Punch that bag,” Nash coached me, causing me to giggle. He was too much and had been since we walked into the gym early Saturday morning.

It was his idea to get up and work out before we start our day. Now, he wanted me to start if I was up for it. I gave in, but I told him it wouldn’t be an everyday thing.

“Stop making me laugh,” I protested with a glare that he waved off. I had a feeling he wouldn’t take me seriously, and I was glad he didn’t, since I wasn’t for real.

“Nah, don’t do that. You wanted to learn to punch the bag, so you got to do it right. Do it as I showed you. Remember right, left, left, right.”

I nodded and followed instructions. It seemed easy to do, but it got tiring after a while, especially when I wanted it to be perfect.

“That’s it. Now switch your leg technique as if you were in a boxing ring.”

I did what Nash had shown me beforehand and got the hang of it. After I did that a couple of times, I was panting and ready to stop, so I backed away from the bag. “Okay, now I think I’m ready to go beat someone up.”

He threw his head back and laughed loudly. “Nah, don’t do that. Do it when you need to.”

He had a point.

“Okay. Okay. Fine.” I pouted, then I thought of an idea. “Hey...”

Nash shook his head with a low chuckle. “Nope. I’m not doing anything to make you mad. You won’t use what I taught you on me.”

We shared a laugh because that was exactly what I had tried doing.

I frowned, poking my bottom lip out. “Aww, man. You’re no fun.”

He wrapped his arms around me from the back. “You think I want you to beat me up?”

I grinned. “Hmm, maybe.”

“Nah, if you want to fight me in any other way, feel free. You know I stay ready.”

I chuckled, knowing he didn’t lie. “Yeah, I know.”

We’d been dating for two weeks now, and I loved every minute.

Nash had made sure I felt special, and I did everything I could to make sure he was happy.

I wanted to be there for him in any way that I could.

I tried my hardest not to make the same mistakes I did with Jonathan.

When I needed my time alone, Nash gave me that and didn’t question it.

When I was ready to talk to him, I’d tell him what I’d been going through.

He’d tell me. “I haven’t lost a parent, so I don’t know what you’re going through. If you need time, just tell me.”

Right then and there, the only thing I needed him to do was hold me, and he did. That was one of the most precious things someone ever said to me. Little did he know I had fallen in love with him. He made it so easy to do so.

“Let’s go shower. We have more plans for today.”

I arched an eyebrow since I was just finding out about the plans we had. “Uhh, can you clue me in on the plans we have?” I fell into step with him as we made our way across the gym. He’d waved at a few people but didn’t break his stride.

We made our way to his office and the huge bathroom he had there.

He stripped out of his clothes and turned around to undress me too.

I loved the way he cared for me. Once I was naked, he turned on the shower and adjusted the water.

He knew I didn’t like it too hot, whereas he wanted to melt the skin off his body when he took a shower.

He grasped my hand in his, and we got into the shower together. I moaned when the water hit my skin. It felt too good.

Nash wrapped his arms around me from the back, and I felt his erection. I rested against it, causing him to push his pelvis into me. His hands caressed my body upward until he gripped my breasts in his large hands.

“I need you, beautiful,” he whispered in my ear.

I smiled. “You can’t get enough, huh?”

Since we’d woken up this morning, those were his words. He needed me, and I wasted no time getting undressed to give him what he wanted. Nash had a big sexual appetite, and I was there to make sure he got full every time.

“I’m already undressed, so do what you do.”

Nash chuckled and did exactly what he wanted to do. By the time he was finished with me, I was ready for a nap. That was nothing new when he touched me. He had that magic touch to get my body hot and ready for him. I loved it too. He gave my body something it missed, which was great sex.

I was glad to have an extra set of clothes in my gym bag, which I had brought with me. If not, I’d be out of luck.

Nash pulled a white t-shirt over his head. “Are you hungry? I could stop and get something to eat on our way home.”

I shook my head. “No. I can probably find something when we get there.”

“Remember, we won’t be there long. I have plans for us today.”

“It would help if you told me what it was,” I mentioned.

“I see you won’t give it a rest until I tell you.” He sighed.

I smirked. “Well, at least you’re starting to know me a little better.”

“What do you say to horseback riding?”

My eyes nearly bucked out of my head. “Excuse you?”

He chuckled. “It could be fun. Plus, you’re a veterinarian. There’s no way you’re scared of horses.”

I pinched the bridge of my nose and dropped my head. “Uhh, yes, I am. I love them from afar, but if I don’t have to deal with them, I won’t.”

He stepped closer to me and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me in for a hug. I loved it when he buried his face in the crook of my neck. I held on to the back of his neck, not wanting to let him go.

“Aww, baby. If you’re scared, we can find something else to do. I don’t want you to get scared while you’re on the horse. Then they’ll freak out and throw you, and I’ll have to kill it.”

I fought the urge not to smile. In my heart, I do believe he’d kill that horse for me.

Since I was a little girl, I had been terrified of horses.

Of all the animals in the world, those were the ones that I feared.

Many people told me I should fear snakes, but I don’t.

I actually love them. I wouldn’t get one because of Pinks though.

“You’re too much. You know that, right?”

Nash chuckled and gently kissed my neck. It felt too good. “Yeah, I’m your too much too. Is there anything you’d like to do?”

I didn’t want to be the person who didn’t go along with the plan my man set for us. “I’ll give it a try.” Even after saying it, it didn’t sound true to my ears.

Nash shook his head. “Nah, we can find something else to do. How about we go to my house and cook together? We can make a seafood boil and watch Harry Potter movies. Would you like that?”

I beamed. “As long as I’m with you.”

He pulled back and stared me in my face. “Damn, you make it so easy to fall in love with you.”

My eyes widened at his words. His eyes widened too as he stared at me with his mouth dropped. “Nashton...”

Was he for real, telling me he loved me? I longed to hear those words from his mouth, but did he actually love me?

“What I’m saying is true. You’re making it easy for me to love you, Kenzlee. Hell, I’m halfway there now.”

I hugged him tightly. “I feel the same way.”

Later that night, Nash and I stood in his kitchen with all our ingredients. After leaving the gym, we headed to the grocery store. He wanted to bake a pie too, a peach pie. I’d be watching him make it since I wouldn’t know what the hell I’d be doing.

“What do you want me to make?” I asked him.

He turned to me. “What do you want to do? This is a team effort. I’m not here to tell you what I want you to do. It’s what you want to do to help me.”

Nash was too damn sweet for his own good.

I sighed deeply. “Okay, fine. Let me start the water with the seasonings, onions, and peppers.” I reached for the bag that had everything I needed.

“Word. And while you do that, I can work on the butter sauce.”

Nash leaned over, wanting a kiss, and I made sure I didn’t disappoint him.

After a peck, we got to work. He turned on the radio he had in his kitchen, and the Pandora station played Chris Brown’s song “Residuals.” We cooked and vibed.

Every once in a while, we’d sing a lyric or two.

Neither of us could hold a tune, and we’d laugh about it.

We could dance our ass off though. Yeah, I had a feeling this man would be my husband. He matched me in every way. I didn’t know when, nor did I know how long it would take, but I knew in my heart he was mine forever.

“Damn, baby, you got me wanting to get inside you,” he whispered in my ear as he held me from behind.

We slow dance together, rocking back and forth. The temperature heated up, and my body craved him. Would it always be like that with us? If so, I welcomed it. I needed it as much as I needed him.

By the time the food was ready, we were halfway lit with the singing and dancing we did. Nash then brought out a bottle of wine. We were feeling ourselves a little too much.

“I love these at-home dates we have,” I admitted when we sat down to eat.

Nash smiled at me and winked. “Good. I love them too.” He reached for my hand, and we said grace. I looked forward to clasping our hands together to give God the praise, even when it was just blessing the food.

Both of us wasted no time digging into our bags. I moaned when I tasted one of the peppers I had in mine. It was seasoned to perfection.

“Baby, we did that,” I told him, referring to the food.

Nash nodded in agreement. “Damn straight we did. We need to start selling our bags.”

I frowned and shook my head. “Hell no. This is ours by ourselves. No one gets to eat or even sample our boil.”

He held his hands up and laughed. “Damn, my bad. I won’t mention that again. I don’t want to fight.”

I pointed a crab leg at him. “Remember right, left, left, right.”

We burst out laughing when I said that.

“Man, I’m not fucking with you. I gotta hide those boxing gloves from you. You’re not about to beat my ass.”

I smiled and continued eating my food. It was everything and more. Nash talked about watching a Harry Potter movie, but we’d have to watch that after a nap. I needed to sleep right now. This food had me ready to crash.

“Aye, baby. Harry Potter’s got to wait. I need a nap,” Nash stated.

“I was just thinking the same thing.”

After we were finished eating, we cleaned up and headed to bed for a nap.

Nash’s bedroom was nothing like mine. You could tell a man slept in there.

He had it too damn dark. Every time I came into his bedroom, I had to hit the light.

If I didn’t, I’d for sure run into something.

One time, I ran my pinky toe into his bed, and I almost cried.

He took good care of me that night with the way he sucked my toes to the point I had an orgasm.

It didn’t stop the pain, but I felt good in a way I’d never felt before.

When we got into bed, I snuggled with him and rested my head on his chest. I let out a big yawn and excused myself.

“I love you, Kenzlee,” Nash stated.

I kissed his chest and hugged him close. “I love you too, Nashton.”
