The sun came up so fast I hadn’t realized I’d fallen asleep on Ace’s crusty-ass bed. I pulled my phone out to see if Zeus had called me back and he hadn’t. I couldn’t lie, but I felt some kind of way. Had he given up on me that fast? I closed out the message app and decided to go into the Orange-O-Gram app. A nigga was popular. I scrolled through my timeline, looking at all my homies turning up at a party they’d went to last night. The same ran through LA bitches posting the same half-naked ass pictures.

I tapped the search bar entering #newyorkprettiestgirls I wanted to see the girls they had out there. I thought about going to New York, but I also didn’t want to leave home. I wondered if they were all like the girls here.

I scrolled through looking until I came across a pretty ass female. I clicked on her profile. Princess_LiaBia? She had over two-hundred thousand followers.

I went through different photos, and most were aesthetic shots until one really caught my attention. Shit! She’s fucking beautiful.

I sat there staring at her picture longer than I expected. I heard Ace calling out as he came through the door. “What’s the word?” he asked.

I pulled my eyes away from the phone for a mere second. “Shit, I need to grab more clothes, I’m about to stop by my house real fast.”

“Wait, what if your brother is there?”

I had forgotten that I had left, choosing not to come back. “Shit, well we can go to the mall I have a few bucks I can pick something up. We going to that party tonight,”

I told him. “I’m not missing another one.”

“Man for a nigga who supposed to be hiding you going to a party don’t sound right.”

I chuckled. “You scared?”

“Nah!”

“Aight then. Stop crying.”

I glanced back down at my phone, hitting the like button on ole girl’s photo with a small message before closing my phone.

Ace and I left his so-called crib. I spotted Foe up the block going into the Jects. Right then, I knew Zeus probably sent him to look for me. Of course, my brother wouldn’t be caught out here, so he sent his nigga. Lucky for me, the bando I was staying in was a couple of houses down from the Jects and Foe knew nothing about Ace’s spot.

I moved quickly and hopped in my car. I reversed the car doing a U-turn to leave so Foe wouldn’t see my car. As we rode through the streets headed to the mall. I made sure to keep my head on the swivel until the sound of Ace caught my attention. “Nigga, why are you in these streets?”

I laughed. “Man, you ask a lot of questions. Shit, I just be out here chilling. I mean, my brother is always busy doing whatever. He’s all I got really but it’s not like he gives a fuck about me, so I go where I’m wanted.”

I shrugged.

“So, you choose the projects? Nigga that’s wild,”

he giggled. “If I had family there for me like you do, I definitely wouldn’t be out here doing what I’m doing,”

he told me. “All I got to do is find my sister Monette.”

Monette? That shit sounded so familiar. Ace stayed trying to keep my mind thinking about shit I didn’t want to. As we got closer to the mall, I noticed somebody who owed me money. I swerved my ride, slamming my feet on the brakes, grabbing my gun, and hopping out of the car.

Click, Click.

I crept up behind the guy and pressed the gun to the nigga’s side. “Fuck is my money!” I barked.

The guy held his hands up as he slowly turned around.

Gun to his face. Whap! Whap!

“I want my shit nigga!” I barked.

The endless pounding I was doing to that nigga fueled me. I felt hands on me, “Ayo Dio nigga ease up! Fuck is wrong with you!”

Ace shouted.

Ever since killing Asia, I felt empowered. The demon had a leash on me, one I couldn’t shake. He was in control, and I was merely his puppet.

Kick!

I snatched away from Ace, leaning down, going through the guy’s pockets, and taking what he had. The onlookers began crowding around as Ace and I ran to the car, hopped in, and took off. Something in me had unlocked, making me feel like a king out this bitch. Dio was live and to me, that meant niggas better tread lightly.
