I found myself up late talking to Shorty. It was better than sleeping. Every time I would close my eyes, the vision of Ace popped in my head, sending me shooting up from the bed. Since being back home shit with Zeus and I wasn’t bad, but more awkward. I knew he wanted to have a conversation about the shit that had happened, but I wasn’t ready yet. I felt like he would crucify me for having thoughts of ending my life. I needed more time. The sound of Zeus and his Shorty bedroom antics crept through walls. “Damn Zeus,”

I grumbled.

I got up from the bed, and threw on my sweats and slides. I grabbed my keys and left the house. I figured I’d ride around for a few hours to give him time. I hopped in the car and took off. I had no actual destination I just drove. I glanced back at my phone as I continued the conversation with Princess while I waited at the red light.

I closed the phone when the light turned green. I began thinking about what my life would look like outside of Cali. New York was becoming more of an idea for me now that I had met a little friend. I still wasn’t sold on it yet, but maybe Zeus was onto something sending me there. I wasn’t sure how much of it would change me, but with Blaze N Fire out to get a nigga, it was probably in my best interest.

I lit one of my pre-rolls as I cruised the streets, hitting left and right turns back-to-back. The idea of me leaving and Zeus still here dealing with those Blaze N Fire niggas didn’t sit right with me. Their time was up. I hopped on the highway going eighty in a sixty-five. I let the music lead me until I got to Chev’s. I spotted Zaria’s car in the driveway.

“Ah shit,” I smiled.

I knew she liked the nigga trying to front. I hopped out knocking on the door. It took a few minutes, but he answered. He balled up his face as soon as he saw me, “Dio it’s in the middle of the night. Nigga you better have a good reason you at my fucking door,”

he gritted.

I shrugged. “Shit, Zeus loud ass. I couldn’t sleep he back home beating Shorty’s back out. It looks like you doing the same thing,”

I said, trying to peek inside.

I saw Zaria turn to glance out the door.

“Ah shit, Sup Z?”

I said trying to go inside, but Chevy pushed me back.

“Dio don’t make me cave yo shit in. What do you want?”

“I know where Blaze N Fire be at.”

Chevy’s brows raised. He stepped back, letting me inside. I smiled while walking in, “See, I can be a part of Zoo too.”

I strolled over going around the other side of the couch. “Y’all in here smoking, drinking, got the music on,”

I said cheesing. I took a look at Zaria, “The lioness controls the king, huh Z?”

I said to her.

Chevy came around standing beside me and the next thing I know I felt a sharp ass sting to the back of my neck. “Next time that shit going to be to yo jaw, talk to me?”

Chevy said.

Zaria stood from the couch, “I will let you guys talk. Thanks for hearing me out,”

she said, looking at Chev.

“Zaria sit down,”

he said to her.

“I said I will leave.”

“I said sit down.”

“Chevy I—”

“Fine.”

He took her hand as they both walked over to the door. I leaned back, trying to hear what they were saying to each other, but I couldn’t hear shit. For a minute I thought I heard lip-smacking. They kissing? I leaned further back to be nosy, but he had closed the door. Chevy walked back over to me, and I quickly maneuvered acting as if I was doing something else.

“Where they be at? I want the address now!”

he snapped. “Damn Chev.”

“Matter fact, let’s go now!”

Chevy went to the back for a few minutes when he reappeared. He changed his entire outfit. He wore black sweats, a black hoodie, and a shiesty rolled-up sitting at the top of his head. In his hand, he held a pretty ass gold choppa. “Get the fuck up and let’s go!”

he barked.

I knew he meant business. It was about to be a war and if it meant the safety of me and Zeus; I was with all the shits.

“Damn, this dick feels so good,”

Freckles whined.

One finger in her ass, the other hand had her ass cheek spread wide as I stroked her from the back. The more she and I fucked each other, the deeper a nigga was sinking. Shit was wet like water and moist as fuck. Freckles handled every inch of a nigga like a pro, and I couldn’t complain.

She rolled her hips as I dug off in her ass. “Keep that pussy wet baby. Shit got a nigga bout to cum,”

I grunted.

She slowed down, moving her body back and forth, bouncing back on me while I watched her ass bounce. I shook my head because the shit felt that good. Freckles was throwing that ass back so good it was like she had a fire as beat in her head she was bouncing too.

Her whimpers were sweet and sexy, “Ah, don’t fucking stop!”

Freckles reached down and began playing with her pussy, making her shit cream up something crazy. “Shit!”

I pulled my finger from her ass pulled out and turned her around. I wanted to look her at the woman that had my head in the clouds. She wrapped her arms around my neck, bringing my face closer to hers. There were so many emotions going through me. I didn’t want to let her go, but I knew soon I would have to. I refused to let myself fall in love with her, only to be brokenhearted at the end, but my feelings were in charge. I continue to gaze at her, “What? Keep going,”

she whispered as she motioned her hips toward mine.

“What happens after this?”

I asked her.

Her eyes bounced all over, “Look at me Sasha because right now a nigga is feeling some shit, and I need to know.”

“I have to go back Zeus you know this,”

she replied.

“I know but then what? What’s the purpose of this? Me and you?”

“We’re having fun, right? I mean you can be my little cut buddy when I touch down.”

I stood up, “Fuck is you talking about cut buddy like I’m a fucking sneaky link. Listen, I’m too grown for that shit. I-I thought we were building something,”

I told her.

Freckles sat up, “What do you want me to say? We’re going to get married or something? Look, Zeus I like you I do, but I-I—”

“You just fucked with a nigga to get put on. I should have known. I gave you the warning the first time. Sasha leave.”

She displayed a seductive smile coming up to me. I grabbed her hands, “No, I’m serious. I’m not going through this shit again. For the first time I thought I found something good for me, for Zu. I thought you were different, and I thought you were seeing a future just as I was. It’s clear you had your own plans ones that didn’t include me. And before you say I’m being selfish you’re right I am because I want something for me someone for me and if you cannot be that then I’m good. Bye Sasha,”

I said, pointing to the door.

She grabbed her clothes and put them on without saying a word. I saw my phone light up and hers. Mine was a text and hers was a nigga’s face. I didn’t even bother to nut the fuck up. I wanted her to stay to give me some type of reassurance, but she didn’t. Maybe all this was my karma. I surrendered. I allowed karma to take her W.

After she left, I picked up my phone to the group text.

Chevy was becoming undone with each day that had passed. The nigga had more people at the Zoo than we’d ever had. He needed to find somewhere to shift that energy, otherwise, it would be more dead people’s souls trapped in the Zoo than it needed to be.

However, when the nigga said it was Blaze N Fire, I was definitely with it. It was the perfect time for a nigga to let out a little frustration. I hopped up, got myself cleaned up to head to the Zoo.

When I arrived at the Zoo, everybody was there, including Dio. I knew it was no point of hiding what we did from him because he himself had created his own demons. I pulled my dreads up in a ponytail as I moved closer. Chevy began clapping.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

He glanced at me slowly, nodding. I glanced at Dio, “You cool?”

“Yeah, Zeus I’m straight.”

“If any of this gets uncomfortable let me know.”

“Zeus, nigga I’m cool,”

Dio shot back.

Chevy came closer as he glared at both Dio and Me. “Now that we’re done with an episode of family matters, let’s get shit done!”

he started. He then aimed his gold choppa at the seven niggas dangling like chandeliers. “You muhfucka are like roaches. No matter how many of you we kill more of you just keep fucking coming!”

he bellowed.

One of them bucked his body back and forth. “Fuck you nigga! Fu—”

Rat-a-tat-tat-a-tat-tat! Rat-a-tat-tat-a-tat-tat!

“Woo shit! That nigga smokin’,”

Foe laughed.

The rest of the guys hanging were losing it. I stepped closer. “You pussy ass niggas came to my crib. Shooting at a nigga with my girl in the house. You will not make it out of here alive!”

I moved quickly snatching the knife off the table and began jabbing one of their asses over and over. I thought about all the shit I’d been through over the few months. The thought of them trying to kill Dio and the thought of Freckles playing with a nigga’s heart.

“Damn ease the fuck up, kung fu Zu, the nigga’s dead,”

I heard Diamond say.

Rat-a-tat-tat-a-tat-tat! Rat-a-tat-tat-a-tat-tat!

Chevy let off in the air. His body leaned all the way back and he came up slow, growling loud as fuck. We’d never seen him this way before. My nigga was changing before our eyes. “One, two, the Zoo Boyz coming for you!”

he shouted.

Clap! Clap!

“Three, four, you bitch ass niggas should’ve locked your doors,”

Diamond chimed in.

I began howling. “Five, six, we came to shake up shit!”

“Seven, eight pussy ass niggas should have come at us straight!”

Dio shouted.

Clap! Clap!

“Nine, ten can you see us coming!”

Foe finished as he taunted them.

Preach paced around them. “Heavenly Father! I hope y’all niggas prayed today. Repeat after me, our father.”

Piss sizzled the ground as one of their nerves was so bad he pissed on himself. Chevy eased his hand up with the choppa still in it aiming it at him, “Pissy patty you’re first!”

Bloaw! Bloaw! Bloaw!

The bullets flew through the nigga’s body. We all turned around to Dio. “Fuck that nigga!”

I knew this was doing more harm than good to Dio and as bad as I didn’t want him around it, I was scared to let him go. I felt like I was stuck between a rock and a hard place because my brother was in way deeper than I thought.

“Let’s wrap this shit up!”

Chevy yelled.

Before anyone could make another move, he began lighting all their asses up.

Rat-a-tat-tat-a-tat-tat! Rat-a-tat-tat-a-tat-tat!

Once he was done Foe called up the clean-up crew. I stepped over to Dio. “I want to take you somewhere today. Just me and you,”

I told him.

“Where? My car though.”

“I’ll take it back to my crib, go with your brother, Zu when you’re done come holla at me. We need to talk,”

Chevy said.

Dio tossed him the keys, then looked at me. “It’s Zeus and Dionysus today,”

he smiled.

It was time to share some hard truths with Dio. Things that I had been trying to avoid for years, but with the way things were going, I knew he needed this more than I did.

“Ugh!”
