“Don’t you know how to use a doorbell?” he snapped, the remark sounding more like an insult to Sky.

“Where is Jude?” Sky asked bluntly.

“And why should I tell you where he is? Who the hell are you?” Francisco shot back, his face twisting into a glare as he crossed his arms over his chest.

“Honey, who’s that?” a woman of indeterminate age asked as she emerged from what seemed to be the kitchen, judging by the apron she wore.

It was Elvira Finn. Her hair was tied in a messy bun, and Mitch clearly took after her biologically.

Sky could not spot a trace of Jude Finn in her, nor in the man beside her.

There was not a single resemblance between Jude and this family.

Jude looked nothing like them. He was far better than these ugly motherfuckers.

“Some rude asshole here looking for that faggot,” he answered cockily, throwing a glance at his wife.

“Say that word one more time, and you’ll regret it,” Sky said firmly, his tone cold and serious.

Francis turned back to him, locking eyes with a piercing look.

“You think you’re tough enough to mouth off like that?” he shot back.

But Sky was not intimidated, not even the slightest bit.

“I didn’t come here to play games with you, old man. Tell me where the hell he is before I snap your fucking neck,” Sky threatened, narrowing his eyes into a deadly glare.

“Oh, my God! How dare you? Who the hell are you, young man, to say these words to your elders?” Elvie demanded, horrified.

“Hahaha, I’m terrified,” Francis mocked, clutching his bloated stomach as he laughed. “Why are you so worried? Are you the boyfriend of that fagg—”

He never got to finish his sentence. Sky’s fist slammed hard into the bridge of his nose, instantly breaking it and drawing blood. At the same time, his right eye also took the blow.

“Ahhh!” Francis cried out in pain, squeezing his eyes shut as he doubled over slightly.

Francisco’s hand trembled violently as he reached for his nose, the shaking impossible to miss. It was only one shot, yet he felt like he was going to die.

“Hey! What the fuck?! Oh my God!” the woman screamed in panic.

“Stay where you are, lady,” Sky warned as she tried to rush toward her husband.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing? I’ll call the cops!” she shouted angrily.

She attempted to move again, but Sky raised a hand, stopping her in place.

“Stay the fuck where you are unless you want your husband dead. I’m fucking serious,” he threatened in conviction.

That alone was enough to glue her to the spot, forcing her to obey.

“Who the hell do you think you are, kid? Don’t you know who I am? You’re gonna pay for this.”

Sky immediately shifted his attention from the woman to the old man, who was trying to force his puffed eyes open.

Without hesitation, Sky grabbed his left arm and drove his knee hard into Francisco’s stomach.

He spun him around, forcing him onto his knees while pinning both of his hands behind his back with one strong grip.

“I told you, I’m not here to play, you damn asshole,” Sky growled dangerously. “Tell me where the hell Jude is right now, or I’ll take both of these hands home with me. Your fucking choice.”

Francisco spat blood to the side, and when Sky grew impatient waiting for an answer, he pressed his foot harder into his back, forcing him further down.

“I don’t know! I don’t know where he is!” Francisco cried out in pain. “All I know is we kicked him out of the house last night—that’s it! I don’t know where he is now!” he struggled to get the words out between breaths.

Sky tightened his grip on his hands and shoved his foot down even more firmly.

“Ahhh! I swear! We really don’t know where he is!” Francisco screamed, his voice breaking, tapping his palms on the floor vigorously in defeat.

“Please stop! We don’t know where Jude is, I swear! Please, just stop!” Elvira begged, crying.

Sky knew they were telling the truth, yet a part of him still wanted to make them pay for everything they had done to Jude in the past. They had played a major role in his suffering, and that thought left Sky both furious and strangely helpless.

The uncertainty of what had become of Jude gnawed at Sky, leaving him concerned. Jude was vulnerable, easily got attention, and was prone to trouble. Even as he tried to suppress it, his mind was incessantly spiralling with questions.

What if someone had hurt him on the road?

What if somebody had tried to rape him?

What if he was out there shivering through the night?

What if he were sleeping on the streets, alone and exposed?

They kicked him out in the middle of the night. It was dangerous, and the thought only made Sky even more furious at these fucking assholes.

“If anything happens to him, you’ll pay for it,” Sky warned in a venomous tone before letting go of the old man’s hands.

Sky shoved him forward, causing his face to hit the floor sharply.

Sky muttered a curse under his breath before storming out of the damn house, while Elvie continued yelling in outrage and Francisco cried out in pain behind him.
