29. Kayori
Chapter Twenty-Nine
KAYORI
“You want to take a couple weeks off, what’s your reason Kay?”
Brian stared at me with concern, I stacked a couple of papers that I was getting ready to file for new patients.
I swallowed down the anger and hurt that I was feeling from last night and brought my ass to work.
I could deal with a lot of shit from a person, but playing me like I was nothing was something that I had no toleration for.
The way Beast said he fucked his ex is what had bothered me the most. I didn’t care about him killing her, which probably made me crazy.
A sane person would be very concerned with Beast’s logic.
To me, he betrayed me. Here I was helping him and trying my hardest to love on him and he just casually sleeps with his ex.
His nonchalant attitude is what really pissed me off more.
His dumb ass constantly asked and questioned if I was fucking someone else, when he could do the shit so easy.
Me imagining Beast giving my dick away had me sick to the stomach.
I wanted to teach his ass a lesson. I desperately needed to get away and take a break from it all.
I was about to take a step away from Beast for the sake of my baby.
I didn’t want to go through a stressful pregnancy and that’s exactly what it was starting to feel like.
“I’m going back to Cali; I have a lot of business to handle out there. I suppose to start on renovations for my mom’s house… I just want to get a head start before I get further along in my pregnancy.”
I gave him a reassuring smile, I really wanted to break down and cry. It felt like everything was starting to go wrong. I had a gut feeling that things were about to get worse.
“Kay, you know I’m your boss… but on a serious tip, I’m your friend.
I used to be in love with you. I know when you’re masking something, if you need the time off…
I got you but I’m really worried about you.
I mean this Praise character acts as if he’s totally obsessed with you.
He has threatened me, talks about you as if you’re some sort of object.
I just don’t like it, and he’s not screwed too tight.
Now your pregnant by him, it’s not too late to get rid of it. ”
I looked at him in shock, at what he was suggesting.
“Look Brian, I appreciate your concern but that’s not an option. Praise would kill me if I was to kill his baby. Plus, I’ve already grown attached to the baby.”
“Kill you? It’s your body. See what I mean? Buddy is not wrapped too tight. If you ever need to get away from him, you can come stay with us. I don’t want you getting hurt Kayori.”
Just as I was about to respond to him, we heard loud music and tires screeching loud.
Snatching our attention to outside of the clinic, Beast hopped out with a blunt dangling from his lips.
He illegally parked right at the entrance; I shook my head as embarrassment showed on my face.
I watched Beast open up the passenger door and lean up against his car as he made eye contact with me.
He smiled, then waved as he motioned for me to come here.
“Kayori, I hate to say this. I really don’t want to tell you this, but until you get this situation under control. I have to let you go; I cannot have this at my place of business. This guy pops up, he is scaring my patients and he has a gun on display.”
Picking up my purse, I stood to my feet and gave Brian a hug. I wished I could stay in his arms longer, but I knew that would only create more problems for me and him.
“I’m sorry, Brian.” A tear escaped my eye and he quickly wiped it before I could.
“You let me know if you need me. I’m only one call away, Kay.”
“You touch my bitch again, nigga, you gon’ need God.”
The menacing glare Beast had on his face was enough for me to create space between Brian and I. Dropping my head, I made my way to the door. Once the office door closed, Beast snatched me up and looked at me with a crazed look.
“You been fucking that nigga?”
Snatching away from him, I glared hard at him.
“I don’t want this no more Beast! I’m sick of this shit!
You fucking exes and killing them but worried about if I’m fucking someone!
” I shouted. I already lost my job because of him.
I was furious. Beast came into my life and shook shit the hell up.
I constantly worried, even though he made me feel good.
I questioned how could a regular plus size girl scores a man like Beast then have him so obsessed and in love with me.
He needed to understand that you couldn’t just fuck up and do some foul shit, then bounce back the next day like things where cool.
You didn’t get to control my life and live yours like shit was cool.
“Yo! You with the FEDs or some shit! You’re talking loud as fuck right now!”
I needed space now and the only way I could get that space was if I left Vegas all together. I wasn’t going to run off with his baby, but I for sure was going to get my peace and sanity until my baby was born.
“I can’t do this no more with you, Beast. I love you and I’m not totally walking away okay?
I just need some space. No, I’m not fucking Brian.
He was an ex, but now he is a very close friend of mine.
Ok? Like how many times do I have to say this shit!
” I looked him in the eyes, and I could see just how conflicted he was.
“Get in the car, Kayori,” he said it calm and this time, I got in the car. The damage was done, Brian was never going to re hire me now. Once Beast got in the car, he zoomed off as he gripped the stirring wheel tight.
“You don’t get to walk away from me ‘cause I did what I had to do… I didn’t plan on fuckin Nia. That shit just happened. Look at my face, Kayori. You fucked a nigga up and I apologized for the shit. You need to be apologizing for messing my face up.”
“An apology is not gon’ work for me right now, Beast. You damn sure ain’t getting one from me. You deserved every hit I gave your ass! This is all a little too much for me, I would rather be the old me then to deal with all this extra shit you’re putting me through.”
The light turned green, and he pulled over to the side of the road and cut his engine off. I looked behind us and noticed his security had pulled over along with us and put their hazards on.
“You are fuckin that nigga Brian… ain’t you? The old you were fuckin that lame ass nigga Brian! The old you couldn’t even look a muthafucka in the eyes if they begged you too! The fuck you mean?”
His jaw clenched as I shook my head no, I couldn’t even hold back the tears any longer.
This baby had me turning into an emotional wreck.
Beast made it so hard to prove to him that I wouldn’t do no disloyal shit like he had done to me.
His ego was sky high while his trust was broken into tiny pieces.
“I’m not fucking Brian. I swear on our child, I’m not! I’m not even that type of girl to go around fuckin multiple niggas, Beast. I just can’t do this anymore. Until you’re able to trust me, we don’t need to be together. When you’re ready to trust, then maybe we can work on something more.”
Running his hands down his waves he tried his hardest to blink back the irritation that was evident in his eyes.
“Juicy, you’re making up excuses to leave a nigga. You’re my medicine, baby. I can’t just let you go that easy.” I sighed and wiped the tears from my eyes.
“Just take me to your place so I can go get my things please. I need space, and you have to give me that.”
“I don’t have to give you shit! You think you just gon’ play around with my head and walk away from me when I’m knee deep in my feelings for you?
You beat my ass like I stole something from you and now you ready to pack up and walk away!
I wasn’t expecting to fuck that broad! She just popped up at my job saying all kinds of threats!
FUCK Kayori! Why are you being so damn difficult. ”
His hands started to shake, I needed to deescalate the situation before he snapped.
“Beast, we both need a break from all of this bullshit. You need a break from trying to get revenge and I need a break from worrying about you. I got my own problems; and I push them to the side for you.”
“Okay, we need a break. Let’s fly to Dubai in a couple of days.”
Shaking my head, I closed my eyes for a couple of seconds as I thought to myself how Beast could think a trip is what we needed.
Looking into his eyes, I saw just how serious he was.
I also saw fear, I didn’t want him to fear losing me because he really wasn’t.
I needed him to respect my space and my peace for the time being.
We rushed into all of this and that’s why we weren’t clicking like we needed too.
When I thought things through, even with him fucking Nia, I knew it was a mistake but if we were taking things more slowly, maybe it wouldn’t have happened or even if it did my reaction wouldn’t of been so violent.
Looking at his face, I cringed at the damage I had done.
It wasn’t right of me to put hands on him like that.
For that reason alone, I needed to take a small step back and give us space.
“Money can’t fix every problem, Beast. If you want to go to Dubai, sure we can maybe in a month or two. Right now, though, I want some space. I want to go away for a couple of days. What you did was wrong. If I fucked on an ex and killed him afterwards, you would be trying to kill me.”
“You not me though, so stop trying to spin it that way.”
Rolling my eyes, we sat there going back and forth for an hour.
I didn’t care what Beast tried to say, I was sticking to my words.
I needed a break and he needed to understand and see what he did was wrong.
Fucking Nia should have never happened. He couldn’t even give me the space to let me be while I was at work.
I ignored a couple of text and two calls then he’s popping up at my job embarrassing me.
He had to control that aspect of him, and he needed to work on his trust issues.
I didn’t nag or question him much, yet he did that to me every single day.
“So, you want to leave for a couple of days and then you’re coming back, right?”
“Yes, I’m coming back. I have a doctor’s appointment for the baby in a couple of days,” I didn’t like to lie to Beast but right now I had too.
“I can send my security with you, just to make sure you straight.”
Nodding my head yes, he grabbed the bottom of my chin and brought me close to him.
Placing a quick peck to my glossy lips, he started the car and we headed to the house.
I now had to find a way to dodge his security, I didn’t want them following me around.
Since I lost my job, I didn’t see a point on staying out here in Vegas.
I wanted to go back to Cali and find my way from there.
