Chapter Thirty-One

BEAST

“So, where we headed, nigga?” Stone asked as he turned another corner. His health was still not up to par, but he refused to not pick me up when I got released from the hospital. Passing me the blunt, I turned down the music.

“You already know. Take me straight to the warehouse.”

I looked at the road ahead and chose not to say shit.

I felt like shit after spending two weeks in the hospital.

Kayori shot me in my right kneecap, and I had to get a knee replacement.

I kept having flashbacks of how she closed her eyes and fired the gun.

Not caring where it landed, she wanted to hurt me or maybe even kill me.

I had nothing to do with her brother being killed.

That was all on Michael. At the moment, I wasn’t ready to face her.

I was sure she wanted nothing to do with me.

That didn’t stop me from wanting her bad.

I craved her so much it was starting to pain me.

I wanted a text, a call, or something from her ass.

She couldn’t even check to make sure if a nigga was breathing.

Instead, Leandra held shit down for me. She brought me breakfast and dinner and made sure Mattea saw me every day.

I appreciated that shit, but nobody was able to even get in touch with Kayori.

Even her best friend claimed that Kayori wasn’t accepting anyone’s calls.

She had everyone on the blocked list. I just prayed that she and my baby was okay.

My knee hurt like shit. That wasn’t stopping me from what I had planned right now at this very moment.

Pulling up to the warehouse, I felt slighted.

I couldn’t just hop out and walk right into that bitch.

Brick and Dion got out of the truck that I provided them with and popped the trunk to retrieve my wheelchair.

A wheelchair was needed. I could walk, but too much pressure felt like pins and needles.

If it wasn’t pain, then there was numbness.

I lost my balance a lot, and the shit still felt out of place.

The doctor kept telling me it would take six months to walk normally.

I hoped so because this shit wasn’t player at all.

My mind went back to Kayori, and anger consumed me.

I missed her and hated her all at once. A flashback of her tear-stricken face popped up in my head.

I felt bad as fuck when I shouldn’t have.

She was supposed to give a nigga a chance to explain to her what it really was.

Instead, she did what most bitches did, and that’s act strictly off emotions.

She was so worried about me hurting her when in the end, she ended up hurting me bad as fuck.

If I can’t make it with her, I’ll make it without.

One thing she wasn’t gon’ do was keep my baby away from me like I did something wrong because I didn’t.

I wasn’t apologizing, I didn’t owe her shit but the space she begged like hell for.

This time I was gone give her what she’s been begging for, no matter how bad it bothered me.

Brick opened up my door with the wheelchair in front of me.

It felt like a slap of cold reality. Kayori had me handicapped.

I couldn’t even get out of the fuckin car and walk in this place without needing some assistance.

I was not that kind of nigga. I didn’t want any help.

I felt less of a man, and all of it was because of Kayori.

She took advantage of the love I had for her.

If she was anybody else, I would have killed her.

I was dealing with these stupid ass voices on top of her ass, and the shit was enough to make my mind explode.

Praise was super crushed by Kayori’s actions.

He hasn’t reacted or said shit since I’ve been in the hospital, and that wasn’t good. The logical side of me was gone.

Growling in pain, I hopped on one leg until I got comfortable in my chair. Stone was staring down at me with that crooked smile. Grabbing his cane, he took slow steps as Brick wheeled me towards the entrance.

“I’ont know what the fuck you smiling about, nigga! I can still walk without this wheelchair.” He couldn’t hold it back any longer, and he started crying laughing as Dion held the door open for our crippled asses.

“Nigga, you just as crippled as me,” I huffed as the door closed.

“Yea, but I only got a couple of weeks left, and this cane is gone, plus my bitch said it makes me look real player. What the fuck yo bitch saying ‘bout you?” His brows went up. If I wasn’t in this chair, Stone and I would’ve gone at it.

He was the only nigga that I have ever fought that could stand toe to toe with me.

“Whatever nigga.”

“Yea, whatever.”

When we made it to the back of the warehouse, I was pleased with the renovations.

It was cold as hell up in here and smelt like the sea.

The built-in floor tank was hard as fuck.

I watched the piranhas swim back and forth from one end of the tank to the other, then they all formed a circle.

It had to have been over a hundred inside this tank.

Rubbing my hands together like I was Birdman, I told Brick and Dion to bring my guest to the forefront.

“Nigga, don’t start getting all animated and shit. Just kill this bitch and them two niggas so we can be done with this and go on with our normal life,” Stone warned as Teflon walked in the room looking frantic as fuck.

“Bro, my men don’t deserve to die! They helped me get Laquanna for you!”

“Either they die, or you die, Teflon… What the fuck is it gon’ be?

None of this shit would be going on if it wasn’t for yo ass, nigga!

I don’t give a fuck if you shot that bitch Laquanna or even made a plan that miserably failed ‘cause I still got shot. You let that bitch tie our momma up! The same momma that pleaded with me for your life. You ain’t got no fuckin loyalty, my nigga.

And after this shit, I’m done with you!”

His eyes misted over like the bitch boy he was.

“None of this would have happened, B, if you weren’t such a selfish nigga! You chose that nigga over family.” The tears he dropped meant nothing to me, so I remained quiet. He needed to get this pussy shit off his chest.

“Yo Dion, get me a chair. I ain’t bout to stand up in pain listening to this bullshit,” Stone’s raspy voice echoed through the warehouse.

“You treat this nigga like he’s your brother!”

“Nigga, he is my brother! More of a brother than you!” I yelled. If Teflon said the wrong shit, I was going to cap him. I pulled out my gun that sat on the side of me and placed it on my lap.

“I don’t give a fuck if you kill me, B. I ain’t got the courage to kill myself like Gunna, but I wish it was me. That’s the only person that really loved me and cared about me. Y’all niggas never cared. I don’t even know why you pretended to.”

“Nigga, you are my lil brother! How many fuckin times have I tried to talk to you? I’ve always tried to get your dumb ass to open up to me.

We’re five years apart, so yea, Stone and I are on a different level of understanding, nigga.

If I didn’t give a fuck, I wouldn’t have kept telling you that you couldn’t get down with the gang!

I tried to protect you from all of this shit, but you kept pressing, so I finally gave in.

To this very day, I hate myself for giving in to your wants, nigga. You cost me a lot of shit!”

I couldn’t even believe that I was making time for this nigga to vent the way he was trying to vent. None of this shit mattered. The truth was, he had no excuse to betray me like he did.

“Why you ain’t tell me about your mental issues?” he asked and sniffled at the same time. I chuckled. I saw where he was trying to take this shit.

“Why you ain’t tell me about you being gay? See, we can do this tit for tat shit all day, Michael. The truth is the truth, though. We will never be cool because of the pussy ass choices you made.” He scratched his arms, and I knew he was feening a hit. I shook my head.

“That’s why I ain’t want you in the game.

You were too weak, lil bruh. I saw the greed and weakness in you.

You let this shit take you, and I don’t feel sorry for you at all.

I will just tell you this, though, don’t come around me ever.

Shit, your best bet is to disappear from the face of this earth.

You got your momma to thank for that. I don’t give a fuck about your reasoning and why you did what you did anymore.

You talked shit about Stone when he told me not to kill you either.

All these factors are the only reason you gon’ be able to walk out of here alive.

You crossed me out of pure envy and hate.

I can still see it in your eyes. Don’t let that be the seal of your fate.

You gon’ always lose when you try to come up against me. ”

Before he could speak, I shot him right in his knee, and he dropped down in pain.

“Since I can’t fight your bitch ass, I ain’t letting you walk without feeling pain, nigga.

That’s for Kayori, my nigga. If she chooses to get revenge on you for killing her brother, just know she got the green light.

” Pointing my gun at his foot, I shot again.

The urge to keep shooting took over me as Stone spoke up.

“That’s enough, nigga.”

Stone told Dion to try to remove the bullet from Michael and tend to the wound until they could take him and dump him at a hospital.

I was happy Stone came here with me; he was thinking logically since Praise had nothing to say.

All he could think about was Kayori, and it was starting to piss me the fuck off.

“Take me to the hospital! I don’t want to bleed to death!” he cried out loud as I laughed hard as hell.

“I thought you said you wanted to be with Gunna? Now you don’t want to die? Nigga, you gotta pick what you want.”
