36. Chapter 36 #2

Because she’s in love with me. And every second inside her feels like heaven on earth. With every whimper, every fingertip digging into my skin, every shaky breath she sucks in, I’m falling for her even more.

“Erik. Harder.” She sucks in a breath and drags her fingertips over my back, sending goosebumps all over my skin. “Almost there again,” she presses out.

Her hand wanders down her body, between her breasts, down her belly until it slides between us. Nope. I can’t have that. I close my fingers around her wrist and pin it to the mattress instead.

“Hands off. That’s my job.” I let go of it and she leaves her hand on the mattress, waiting for my thumb to find her clit. The moan falling from her lips when I draw lazy circles around it makes my cock jump inside her.

“Fuck.” She tenses around me, and damn if it doesn’t almost make me come.

“A little longer, Kylie,” I growl against her lips, slowly picking up the rhythm. I’m so fucking close too. Only a little longer. I want to stay inside her, keep this connection, keep watching her lose her mind. “Can you wait for me, babe?”

“I don’t—fuck, Eri-kkk.” Her eyes flutter closed.

“Yes, you can,” I mumble and press a kiss to the side of her throat. “I know you do.” Pressure starts to build in my lower belly. I fuck her faster, harder, feel her walls tighten around my cock.

“Erik,” she whimpers and shakes her head. Every muscle in her body tenses.

“Almost there, babe,” I whisper, earning a sob. “Come on. Open your pretty eyes. Look at me.”

She stares at me through her thick eyelashes, eyes glossy with pleasure, and when she lets out a soft throaty moan, it’s over for me.

“Come for me, bab-” I can’t even get the nickname out before she trembles and moans my name and arches into me, her walls milking my cock.

“Kylie.” I lay my forehead against hers as she pulls me right with her over the edge. I groan, my muscles contracting and my cum shooting inside the condom. “Fuck. You feel amazing, babe,” I mumble and ride out my orgasm, circling her clit until she stops shaking and pulls at my wrist.

Then I collapse on top of her and bury my face in the crook of her neck, taking a deep breath. I could stay here forever. Taking in her soft honey and cinnamon scent, feeling her heart beating under my palm, her warmth around my cock.

“You are so perfect. So unreal,” I mumble against her skin, so softly I doubt she heard me, and press a kiss to it.

Once she catches her breath, her arms snake around me and she draws featherlight patterns on my shoulders with her fingertips, so light her touch sends a shiver down my spine.

If there was ever a perfect moment in life, this would be it. Right here, listening to her shaky breaths, my cock still inside her and knowing she’s in fucking love with me. Fuck. My emotions are all over the place, in a positive way I haven’t felt in such a long time.

My life was a cloudy afternoon at best and she barged right in, all sunshine and rainbows and warmth. And I’m basking in her rays, swallowing the lingering fear of them disappearing one day.

But I promised her: No being scared of my feelings for her. She’s my person and I will embrace everything that comes with it. The warmth, the fear, her fears and the way she makes my heart flutter.

“You alive?” She pokes my ribs and I hear the smile in her voice.

“Barely,” I mumble against her skin and lift myself up a little, until I’m nose to nose with her. God, I could stare at her for hours. Skin glistening with sweat, cheeks the cutest shade of pink, and the gentlest smile on her lips.

She looks exhausted, though.

“Shall we?” I nod towards the bathroom.

Her face pulls into a grimace, but she nods slightly. “Yes. Please.” Then her expression turns mischievous and her grin widens. “Carry me.”

“You say that like I’d complain about it. Come on, princess.” I pull out of her slowly, earning a grimace, remove the condom, then get up. My left arm slides under the back of her knees, right one under her back and I lift her with ease in a bridal carry.

“Careful, I might get used to this,” she mumbles against my throat, then presses her lips to my pulse and lets out a happy sigh.

“If you’re waiting for a complaint, don’t hold your breath,” I whisper and carefully set her down and turn on the shower to let it warm up. There’s no way I will ever complain about having her in my arms.

Once we’re both under the hot stream, I keep staring at her. Her wet hair, her face, her flushed cheeks, the happy smile, the way she closes her eyes and leans against me.

My chest fills with warmth. What a day. So much has shifted between us, like the bond between us was solidified, only by saying the word ‘love’ out loud.

I reach for her shampoo, pour some into my hands and work it into her hair, taking my time, massaging her scalp with my fingertips.

“You’re really fucking good at this,” she mumbles against my chest with a happy sigh, then looks up and digs her chin into my collarbone. “We should do this more often.”

“We will.” I nudge her a under the stream to rinse the shampoo out of her hair. “Don’t fall asleep on me.”

She blinks her eyes open. “I would never.” The twitching corners of her mouth betray her bold lie.

“Come on, we’re almost done.” I’m already pouring conditioner into my palm. She wrings water out of her hair and turns a little, so I can work the conditioner in a little easier. “You can do it. I believe in you.”

“Yes, I can. But I don’t want to.” She hides a yawn behind her hand.

“Sure, you would never,” I tease her with a chuckle earning a playful swat at my arm. While her conditioner does its thing, she picks up her shampoo and stares at me, grimacing at how high she has to lift her arms to reach my head.

Grinning, I lean down and offer her my head. Within moments, her fingers are in my hair, working in her honey-scented shampoo.

“I like this,” she declares in a whisper and with the tiniest smile. “You smelling like me.”

“Do you now?” I arch my eyebrow.

“A little. Okay, maybe a lot” She nods and gives me a sweet grin. “But I also really like it when I smell like you. I might or might not have slept in the shirt you wore when you stayed over after the bonfire for like… a week.”

“You did?” My eyes widen. That’s… new information.

The kind of information to keep me awake for hours, replaying this conversation in my head.

More hours daydreaming about her running around her home, only wearing the shirt.

Even now it brings a stupid grin to my face.

Fuck. Nobody in Wayward Hollow will ever let me hear the end of how much I’m head over heels for Kylie.

“Yeah.” She nods and motions for me to get under the stream and rinse out the shampoo. Closing my eyes is a mistake, though. Because there is the picture, right in front of my closed eyelids. Her in the oversized shirt, pulling the collar over her nose and—

“Seriously? That’s making you hard again?” I open my eyes and stare at her. Naked. Wet. Yeah, not exactly a sight to make my dick calm down.

“Of course it does.” I clear my throat and swipe a strand of her wet hair out of her face. “Babe, your sheer presence is enough to make me hard. Doesn’t mean you have to do anything about it.”

“Good.” She hides a yawn behind her hand. “I might be really fucking in love with you, but I’m also really fucking tired.” Another yawn. “I’ll make a mental note for the future though. Me wearing your shirts gets you hard.”

I rinse out her conditioner, then quickly reach for her shower gel and soap the two of us up.

I’m not going to elaborate how little she has to go out of her way to make me get hard.

Hell, when I’m not spent from what was the best sex of my life, her breathing in my direction would probably be enough for my cock to show interest.

“Come on, let’s get you to bed.”

As soon as the last suds are off us, I turn off the shower and wrap her in one of her giant towels, then grab another one for myself. We dry ourselves off quickly, both desperate for bed, this time to sleep and then we walk back to her bedroom hand in hand.

She climbs in first. As soon as I’m in bed beside her, she scoots closer and snuggles in, her face right next to mine on the pillow as I pull the blanket over both of us and then snake my arms around her.

“For the record,” I mumble and push a strand of her wet hair out of her face, “I’m still really in love with you even when we’re not about to fuck.”

“I know,” she mumbles sleepily. The moonlight casts her room into a dark blue glow, barely light enough for me to see her fighting to keep her eyes open. “I’m so in love with you too, Erik.” She nudges her cheek against my collarbone.

My arms tighten around her and I press a kiss to her forehead. But she’s lost the fight of keeping her eyes open, her breathing already evened out.

I smile into the darkness. This feels surreal. I’m not sure what I did to deserve this love, to deserve her, but I’m not going to question it.

Because I’m happier than I ever thought possible.
